The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1524: Chapter 1524: Imperial Sword (6)

In the end, Yang Ruxin took all ten women under her wing.

As slaves, they naturally became the possession of their master, so it was common for servants to change their names. However, Yang Ruxin did not insist on it; those who wished to change their name would be granted a new one, while anyone preferring to keep their original name could do so.

But contrary to expectations, except for the one named Yunfang who did not want to change her name, the rest actually requested new names.

Yang Ruxin was truly inept at naming, but as the head of the household, she couldn’t shirk the task. Still, she did it in the most convenient way possible. For instance, Huaya became Chun Hua and Caoya became Chun Cao, while Gui Family became Chun Gui, and Liu Azhu was renamed Chun Zhu...

Du Juan and Du Man, listening from behind, couldn’t help but twitch at the corners of their mouths, realizing that their young mistress’s laziness was flaring up again. Chun Cao and Chun Hua might sound alright, but Chun Zhu, wasn’t that like ’stupid pig’?

Yang Ruxin seemed to have realized this and glanced at Liu Azhu with embarrassment: ”If not, let’s just call you Azhu.”

Liu Azhu’s life was saved by Yang Ruxin, so naturally, she would go along with anything said.

”Alright, let’s settle it at that,” said Yang Ruxin, waving her hand dismissively and glancing at Gui Family, now renamed Chun Gui, ”For now, you’ll be in charge of leading everyone. If there’s any issue, you can go to Du Juan or Du Man. After I take you all home, we’ll decide what you’ll be doing.”

Chun Gui nodded hurriedly: ”Yes.” And then she led the girls away.

Just as Yang Ruxin had taken the girls under her care, the royal decree arrived.

As an outsider, Yang Ruxin naturally did not need to kneel to receive the royal decree, but that didn’t stop her from learning its contents. It seemed the Emperor was very pleased, lavishly praising the Crown Prince and Qi Jingyi in the decree. Although there was no material reward, that was merely a matter of time; surely they would not be short-changed upon return. Afterwards, military personnel were all to be awarded according to their military achievements...

However, the reward for Gu Qingheng was somewhat strange.

Logically, both Gu Qingheng and Yang Ruxin had made indispensable contributions, so even if Yang Ruxin received no reward, it would have been normal for Gu Qingheng to be promoted. But the Emperor didn’t mention this, instead, he granted Gu Qingheng an Imperial Sword.

This Imperial Sword was no ordinary object, it carried the authority to act on behalf of the Emperor; whomever it struck would be wretched indeed.

Moreover, the identity of the person accompanying the imperial envoy to deliver the Imperial Sword was rather peculiar, as he was the eunuch most trusted by Emperor Xuanjing, Eunuch Ping.

The imperial envoy who came was Yao Fangshuo, a clerk of Fifth-rank from the Ministry of Rites. The fact that he was appointed to this enviable position of rewarding the army showed he had connections.

Eunuch Ping personally handed the Imperial Sword to Gu Qingheng, then flicked his horsetail whisk, and with a high-pitched voice, he said: ”Minister Gu, the Emperor says that you are young and talented, brave and strategic, and thus he grants you this Imperial Sword. He hopes you will earnestly assist the Crown Prince and frighten the enemy into submission. When you triumphantly return, the Emperor will personally welcome you at the city gates...”

”Thanks to His Majesty’s great grace,” Gu Qingheng accepted the treasure sword and bowed to show his gratitude.

Eunuch Ping glanced at Yao Fangshuo: ”Minister Yao, the task of rewarding the soldiers will now be arduous for you.”

”Your Excellency, rest assured, I will do my utmost...”

Gu Qingheng, holding the glittering golden Imperial Sword, returned to the tent he shared with Yang Ruxin.

Yang Ruxin, observing the treasure sword inlaid with over a dozen red and blue gemstones, clicked her tongue twice: ”With this thing, does it mean you can chop down anyone who displeases you?”
