The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1229: Chapter 1229: Busy (1)

The wasteland that had been purchased in the village some time ago was now almost completely cleaned up by Li Yi’s family, who had picked all the stones and debris. They were just waiting for the land to thaw to start farming. Following Dao Xuzi’s suggestions, they would plant medicinal herbs like wild chrysanthemums, honeysuckle, and rehmannia.

Having livestock at home made farming much easier.

Now, what worried Yang Ruxin the most was the small mountain behind the building, which was covered in messy fruit trees. The fruit they bore was inedible and needed grafting. The problem was that she didn’t know how to do it. She understood the theory but had never seen it done in practice.

She needed to find an expert who knew how to tend fruit trees and who would be willing to listen to her suggestions.

But there were no such fruit tree specialists in the village or the surrounding villages. After all, with the mountains close by, wild fruits were abundant. Why would anyone bother with the effort and trouble of tending those trees when they could just pick a few to eat whenever they wanted?

Unable to find anyone, Yang Ruxin had no choice but to push the ducks onto the perch. She delegated the task to Li Yi’s family and had Yang Family’s river assist them. Of course, if they felt short-handed, they could continue to hire or buy people; there would be no issue.

Nobody had ever heard of grafting techniques, but the young mistress said it was necessary and even brought the branches required for grafting, so they just went ahead with it. After all, as the young mistress said, it didn’t matter if they failed the first time, the important thing was to gain experience.

Those branches were pruned from the pear trees in Yang Ruxin’s space.

Du Chengfeng and his wife had recovered a lot in health, and although not completely well, they refused to just eat without working.

Yang Ruxin appointed Du Chengfeng as the external household manager, and his wife, Mrs. Ye, as the internal household manager.

Du Chengfeng also asked Yang Ruxin to bestow a new name upon him as his was the same as Xiaofeng’s, which was a grave taboo since Xiaofeng was the master.

Originally, Yang Ruxin didn’t mind, but seeing his discomfort, she renamed him Du Chengxiu.

This couple was skillful and knowledgeable. With their help, Yang Ruxin suddenly felt much lighter.

In the blink of an eye, it was the end of the month. Hao Fatty and Qin Fatty, along with Xiaohei and Heihei, were said to have shocked the eagle-fighting world by defeating all challengers, earning a lot of silver. However, what mattered most to them was the face they gained, so they devoted themselves to helping out with the grain, meat, eggs, and such.

The vacant land next to the Xiaohong Building had also started construction. A two-story building was to be erected there for Xiaofeng’s business.

A deserted courtyard behind the village was also being renovated. Once fixed up, it would serve as a private school.

Li Yi gathered a few people to go into the mountains to gather medicinal herbs and then send them to Hechun Hall. Dao Xuzi would go there every few days to teach them how to prepare and mix the medicines. Of course, Li Yi and Wang Zhenggang’s medical skills were already quite advanced, so they caught on quickly without wasting any time.

News also came from Shiyan Village that Bai Rongguang was very capable. The factory building there was nearing completion and would soon be operational.

The 9th of the second lunar month was a good day calculated by Yuan Mengzhu. The next auspicious day wouldn’t come until the end of the third month.

Having the two sisters and two brothers marry on the same day was something some people couldn’t understand and thought was too hasty. But no one dared to gossip, after all, it was the decision of the people themselves.

Yang Ruxin had not been particularly looking forward to the wedding, as it was quite rushed. But she didn’t feel too disappointed either because the person she was marrying was the one she loved.
