The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1216: Chapter 1216: Budding

”How can you get married?” Guan Qingyue was in disarray. If she got married, what about her brother? She suddenly became indiscreet, ”You are so shameless... Ah...”

Before she could finish her sentence, she was firmly slapped across the face.

Guan Qingyue was stunned by the slap.

Du Man leisurely withdrew her hand.

”Du Juan, send her back to the Guan Family,” Yang Ruxin glanced at the dazed Guan Qingyue, ”Tell Guan Danian that if he comes to make trouble again, it won’t be so light next time.”

Du Juan nodded slightly, then went over, grabbed Guan Qingyue, and instantly flew away using qinggong.

Everyone was dumbfounded. They all knew that Yang Ruxin had bought quite a few people for her household, but they had not expected even a maid to be such a skilled martial artist. What about the others, then? Might they be even more formidable?

Du Juan returned quickly and said nothing, but Yang Ruxin knew that the girl must have given the Guan Family a good scare.

Originally upset by Guan Qingyue’s interference, Yang Ruxin’s mood improved at dinner when Old Master Ge brought the good news that his bred chili peppers had sprouted.

Yang Ruxin was so excited that she didn’t even touch her food but dashed outside with her chopsticks in hand.

Because of the cold weather, Yang Ruxin had specially cleared out a side room for Old Master Ge to work on his breeding, and he and his grandson lived directly inside. The room had a coal stove and was particularly warm.

The breeding took place in a large ceramic pot.

Yang Ruxin almost had her face pressed against the soil because the sprouts were really difficult to spot if not looked at closely.

Old Master Ge suddenly felt that he might have been too impatient. It would have been better to wait until tomorrow, and immediately rubbed his hands apologetically, ”Miss, I was too hasty. I should have waited until tomorrow.”

”No, you did the right thing in telling me. I can see the sprouts,” Yang Ruxin waved her hand, ”Old Master Ge, you’re amazing...”

”What’s so amazing about that? I’ve been toiling away for more than a decade,” Old Master Ge downplayed his achievement, ”But even though it’s winter, the room is warm, so the seeds sprouted early, in just six days...”

Yang Ruxin nodded, ”Old Master Ge, you are a hero to our family.” Then she looked at Du Man, ”Go tell Auntie You to prepare delicious meals for Old Ye and Dandan these next few days, whatever they want to eat...”

”Miss, I dare not accept such treatment,” Old Master Ge quickly waved his hands, ”If not for the Miss, who knows what might have become of my grandson and me. Now we are well-fed and warm, just because I grow these things, I can’t claim any merit, that would be too grand for an old man like me...” He had never dreamed of eating meat at every meal, with various pastries in between, luxuries previously just out of reach, but now he could enjoy them to his heart’s content.

Moreover, since coming here, he had bathed in hot water from head to toe, putting on brand new clothes, and the house was warmer than spring even in the dead of winter. Everyone greeted him respectfully as ”Old Master,” and his grandson was much happier, practicing martial arts and studying with the young master every day. He had truly encountered a benefactor.

And now they were being treated so generously just for sprouting these red fruits?

”Old Master, even though you think it’s simple, for me, it’s precious,” Yang Ruxin gestured, ”As long as you can grow these things well, Yueyue will give you a big red envelope...”

”Alright, then this old man will continue with the breeding. After these sprout three leaves, they can be transplanted...” Old Master Ge’s face flushed with excitement.
