The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1210: Chapter 1210: No Dowry

”Godfather, Godmother, why don’t we...” Yang Ruxin glanced at Fang Tianze and Yu Qingge, ”why don’t we just arrange theirs too? You both seem to like this daughter-in-law anyway, and they get along pretty well. Once it’s settled, you can rest easy...”

Yu Qingge had no particular reaction, while Fang Tianze’s face turned red.

Fang Dehua and Yuan Mengzhu were a bit caught between laughter and tears.

”Xinxin, although I like Qingge, but...” Yuan Mengzhu glared at Yang Ruxin angrily, ”but we can’t skip the formal engagement and wedding ceremonies... How could it be so hastily arranged? You might rush your own, and we can’t stop you, but we can’t let our daughter-in-law be slighted like that.”

”But Aunt Yuan, I don’t have any family, I don’t even have relatives, who would you give the dowry to?” Yu Qingge frowned, ”Also, I only own a small inn in Prefectural City, and I have neither savings nor a dowry...”

”Xinxin is your family, so when the time comes, we can deliver the dowry there, and I’ll prepare a dowry for you...” Yuan Mengzhu didn’t lack money; after all, she only had this one son, and everything would eventually be left to him.

”Why all this fuss?” Yu Qingge pouted.

”So, you really want to marry me that much?” Fang Tianze leaned in and whispered to Yu Qingge.

”Who wants to marry you?” Yu Qingge instantly bristled, ”In your dreams...” After she spoke, she realized she had raised her voice in excitement, which left her feeling embarrassed, ”I mean, I...”

Yang Ruxin couldn’t help but roll her eyes, this silly little kid.

”Mom, Dad, I think we should write the marriage letter too.” Fang Tianze ignored Yu Qingge, ”Once the status is settled, we can slowly prepare for the wedding, and we can arrange all those formal engagements you mentioned...”

”I think it’s fine.” Fang Dehua knew about Yu Qingge’s real identity, and when Yang Ruxin had mentioned the phrase ”to avoid prolonging worries,” it had resonated with him, making him think it might indeed be good to settle things sooner.

To be honest, if it had been six months ago, he certainly would not have wanted his son to marry someone with nothing to her name. He would have found a well-matched bride for his son, to provide support for the future, which is why he had initially arranged the marriage with the Dai Family. But then... after meeting Yang Ruxin and then Qingge, seeing his son happy, he and his wife felt that life had a purpose again, the house was always filled with laughter, and he suddenly found his old stubbornness quite ridiculous.

Of course, it wasn’t just him who had changed; his wife had changed too. Before, Yuan Mengzhu didn’t even think highly of Yang Ruxin, even suspecting that she had ulterior motives. But now? Yang Ruxin probably held a higher status than their own son. As for their son’s marital matters... after experiencing the scandals of the Dai family, they were no longer so insistent.

Yuan Mengzhu frowned, actually wanting to refuse, but when she opened her mouth, she couldn’t bring herself to say it.

In the end, Fang Dehua still wrote the marriage letters for his son, though he still harbored some worries. What if the elder from inside the cave found out his granddaughter had already been promised to someone? Could this cause a problem? That was Tang Wanqian after all, someone who could end lives with a mere flick of his finger.

Of course, Fang Dehua kept these worries to himself, secretly fretting over them.

”Now that’s done,” Yang Ruxin clapped her hands, ”if any little demons come to flirt in the future, us sisters can openly cut them down...”
