The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1228: Chapter 1228: Interaction Mode

The return of Zhou Xiao and Zhou Ying made the home livelier, and the one who changed the most was Sanni. Before, she would sometimes daydream, but now she no longer did. However, her attitude towards Zhou Xiao had become increasingly domineering, while Zhou Xiao seemed to enjoy it.

”Big sister, do you think Mengmeng’s domineering manner might scare people away?” Erni was a bit worried. ”Look, even eating sunflower seeds requires Zhou Xiao to shell them, Zhou Xiao picks out the bones when eating fish, and even tests the water temperature when drinking water...” Then she sighed, ”In the future, will Zhou Xiao have to pick up food and put it into her mouth, while she just opens it?”

Erni’s birthday was in January, and everyone had just celebrated it a few days ago; she had turned twelve years old. Although it was only a few months apart, the changes were significant—she had become more composed and since she had married, she began to worry about her younger sister.

”Hehe,” Yang Ruxin chuckled, ”Didn’t you notice how Zhou Xiao enjoys it?”

Erni thought for a moment, then nodded her head.

”So, that’s their way of interacting,” Yang Ruxin rubbed Erni’s head, ”If Zhou Xiao likes to indulge Mengmeng, then she will never run away... Actually, you could also let Ayao shell sunflower seeds and pick out fish bones for you...”

Despite Mengmeng always ordering Zhou Xiao around and being quite domineering, Zhou Xiao always obeyed her willingly. But if it really came down to something important or principled, Mengmeng was no match for Zhou Xiao. After all, she had seen it once; Zhou Xiao wouldn’t allow Mengmeng to drink cold water, so Mengmeng could only drink warm water.

Erni’s face suddenly flushed red: ”But... but how can that be? Mengmeng is still young, and I am not a child... Besides, Ayao is destined for great things, how could he serve me? I’m happy to shell and pick bones for him.”

”See, that’s the pattern of your relationship with Gu Yao...” Yang Ruxin smiled, ”Everyone has a different personality, so naturally, the way they interact is different.”

Erni, feeling a bit embarrassed, chuckled: ”Big sister, am I always needlessly worrying? I...”

”You’re doing this for your sister’s sake, it’s not unnecessary worrying,” Yang Ruxin shook her head, ”It shows you care deeply about everyone and also think carefully, noticing the good and the bad, and you even share your thoughts with me... Xuexue, I’m really happy, you’ve grown up so fast.”

Erni’s face turned even redder.

For farmers, the annual plan hinges on spring. February 22 marks the beginning of the insect awakening, a phase in the Chinese agricultural calendar that signals the earth’s revival and growth of all living things. There’s an old farming saying, ”When insect awakening arrives, the hoe doesn’t rest,” meaning that farmers should start getting busy.

Now, Yang Ruxin effectively was a landlord, with over a hundred acres of land and hundreds of fruit trees in Liu Village, as well as a hill and fifty acres of barren land in this village. So, after insect awakening, she also needed to start worrying about farming.

The land in Liu Village wasn’t top quality; it had sandy soil. For many years, it had primarily been used to cultivate wheat and corn, but the yield wasn’t great. So, this year, she planned to plant sweet potatoes and peanuts and also raise ducks by the lake.

These plans had already been discussed with the farm manager, and although everyone felt it was a bit strange to plant so many sweet potatoes and peanuts, no one objected. After turning the soil and fertilizing, planting would begin.
