The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Chen Yingzi (Second Update)_1

The eldest grandchild, Yang Guohua, also had two sons, and the eldest of those was Yang Rulin, who is now being rigorously groomed as the primary heir by old Master Yang.

This Chen Yingzi is the wife of Yang Sheng’s eldest son, who is also old Master Yang’s second grandson, Yang Guowei.

It was said that at the time, the family was considering suitable brides for Yang Guowei, and they had settled on a quite decent girl. Yang Guowei hadn’t objected, and everyone thought the matter was set in stone. However, just a few days later, he refused because he said he had a girl he liked, and this girl was Chen Yingzi.

Initially, old Master Yang didn’t approve of Chen Yingzi as his granddaughter-in-law, for he had people inquire about her and learned that the girl had a mediocre reputation and a difficult temper. But his grandson insisted that he loved her and even swore that if he couldn’t marry Chen Yingzi, he’d remain a bachelor for life. With no other choice, the old master finally agreed. The result was that, seven months after entering the household, Chen Yingzi bore a son, Yang Ruqing.

Although it was claimed that he was a premature birth before full term, anyone with eyes could tell that Yang Ruqing, being plump and fair, hardly looked like a premature baby. Clearly, Chen Yingzi had been pregnant before marrying into the family.

But due to old Master Yang’s prestige, everyone just gossiped privately and then let it pass.

However, at that time, the Yang Family felt disgraced, and Yang Guowei and Chen Yingzi could only confess that they had become involved before marriage.

What’s done was done, so no one said much more about it. After all, they were all family. Fortunately, as the child Yang Ruqing grew, he increasingly resembled Yang Guowei. Now, being a teenager, anyone looking at him would see the spitting image of a young Yang Guowei, so the past incident became like smoke fading in the wind.

However, although Chen Yingzi didn’t have any significant faults, she was infamously narrow-minded and keen on small gains. Her reputation in the village was average, as it was among her sisters-in-law.

Fortunately, Yang Guowei didn’t blindly indulge her, and with old Master Yang still present, she hadn’t made any serious mistakes or caused any outrageous scandals.

When the great-uncle gave the courtyard to Yang Ruxin, Chen Yingzi had been full of grievances; she had had her sights on that courtyard for a while, intending to reserve it for her son’s marriage. Her son ranked second among old Master Yang’s great-grandchildren. Yang Rulin didn’t need to be mentioned; as the next Family Head, all arrangements for his marriage were none of his parents’ concern. But her son was a different story; she had plans for him. Yet unexpectedly, the old ancestor gave away the house with a single word.

She had initially wanted to make a fuss, but old Master Yang said, ”If you want to cause a scene, go back to the Chen Family to do so. And anyone else who disagrees can leave with her.” So, she kept her mouth shut, and naturally, no one else dared to say a word.

Just because Chen Yingzi didn’t dare to make a fuss then didn’t mean she had accepted the situation. So, it’s understandable that she was prickly when she saw Yang Ruxin talking with her brother.

Yang Ruxin didn’t even frown, replying with a bright smile, ”Aunt Yingzi, we’re here to visit old Master Yang, and besides, even if we did have something going on, you couldn’t help, right?”

”You...” Chen Yingzi was taken aback, but then cast her face down in displeasure. ”Yang Dani, you really have a sharp tongue. Let me tell you, my family’s great-grandfather isn’t running a charity hall. Do you really think our family has gold and silver mines? Even if we did, they couldn’t withstand such generosity.” With that, she got up, picked up a basin of dirty water, and walked to the door, ”Make way, and don’t blame me if you get drenched...”
