The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 303: Chapter 303: Pain Syndrome (First Update)_1

Because of that child, the smidgeon of anger that Yang Ruxin had felt just moments ago instantaneously vanished, and she hurried to the entrance of the medical hall as well, though she did not enter right away.

”Doctor...” the woman dressed in splendid clothes ran while crying, ”please save my son quickly...”

”I understand,” the woman’s eyes suddenly dimmed, for her son, they had been seeking medical advice and remedies for years, even going to Beijing, but to no avail. Today they were attending a banquet at the Shen Family’s residence when her son fell ill, and it so happened that Doctor Wang Zhenggang was already used to such situations and did not panic. He had the patient carried to the examination bed inside and immediately began taking his pulse.

Yang Ruxin kept silent, standing at the door waiting, because judging by these people’s attire they were surely from a rich and noble household. She had stolen a glance at the boy earlier; his face was pale, and large beads of sweat kept dropping from his forehead, clearly in great pain.

Doctor Wang’s expression was not looking too good, and after taking the pulse, he administered an acupuncture treatment. After approximately a quarter of an hour, presumably because the pain had lessened, the boy’s complexion started to show a hint of recovery, and his sweating stopped.

The two attending maidservants breathed a sigh of relief, but the woman still wore a face full of worry, ”Doctor, how is my son?”

”Ah!” Wang Zhenggang sighed, ”Your young master is suffering from pain; it is not advisable to travel long distances. And even if you must go out, why not carry medicine with you?”

Yang Ruxin frowned. Pain? Pain where? Could it be cancer? From her previous life, she had seen cancer patients in bouts of agony that seemed just as painful as this.

The woman was full of regrets, ”I thought it would only be for two days, and we were supposed to return today. The journey wasn’t too long, so I was careless...” she paused, ”and also, the medicines previously prescribed by the doctor seemed to be becoming less effective. We have heard of Doctor Wang’s miraculous medical skills but didn’t seek them because the medications were managing... Please save my child today...” she said, on the verge of kneeling.

In fact, she had felt that a doctor from a small town could not be compared to one from the county city, so even though people said Doctor Wang was skilled, she remained skeptical. She came today out of desperation, only to find that Doctor Wang did indeed seem capable, quickly diagnosing the illness; could he possibly save her child? Hope flickered in her eyes, ”Does Doctor Wang have the means to prepare the medicine pill? Please rest assured, the consultation fee is no issue... Right, Zeze has always been taking something called Musk Ginseng Pill...” she said, pulling out a prescription, ”It’s prescribed by a doctor in the prefectural city, and he has been on this medication for years...”

Wang Zhenggang glanced at the prescription and then sighed, ”Madam, this prescription is indeed good, but it’s not that I am unwilling to prepare it; it’s just that this town is small, and while the pharmacy has many herbs, some extremely precious ingredients are hard to come by. Ingredients like the Hundred-year Ginseng are precious, but still obtainable—I even have half a root here right now. Fresh Wild Musk, however, is scarce... That’s why the effectiveness of your medicine is not enough; it’s because the ingredients in it aren’t pure enough...”
