After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 1534: Chapter 431: Mourinho’s Manifesto (Part 2)

”That’s nice, what’s different between Chelsea and Tottenham, how’s Kevin doing?”

The journalist pressed on.

Modric said, ”Everything’s great at Chelsea, but it seems like our parking lot is targeted by thieves. Every day when I pick up my car, I’m worried about finding my wheels missing.”

”Hahaha, we’ve heard about that too, but what about Kevin?”

The journalist was relentless.

They hoped to hear Chelsea players speak ill of Huang Kaiwen.

That’s what made news.

Modric instinctively smiled, but feeling conscious about his teeth, quickly restrained himself, and after a few seconds he said, ”Kevin is a really good friend, very considerate of everyone. It’s not just a work relationship, you know. He remembers birthdays and cares about his teammates’ difficulties. The youngsters at Chelsea are much happier than I was in the youth team. Before, we had a tardiness fine system, where if anyone was late or made a mistake, they’d pay a fine. Every month, one person would win the collected amount. When Kevin won, he heard a youth team kid had family difficulties, so he gave the money to him.”

”That’s really nice, sounds like he’s a great person, but how’s he at football?”

The journalist asked.

”There’s really nothing more to say about his football,”

Modric shook his head and said, ”Playing football with Kevin is a magical feeling. You pass the ball, and Kevin will definitely get it. When you run forward at a crucial moment, you never have to worry about Kevin not passing the ball. He always finds a way to score or get the ball to the teammate with the best position. Playing with Kevin is just too comfortable.”

...

The post-match press conference was much more intense.

First leg 3-0, total score 5-4.

This damn near qualifies as the comeback of the century.

Praising Mourinho or belittling Guardiola, or attempting to provoke Mourinho into humiliating Guardiola, or guiding Guardiola to blame the players.

The journalists had already thought of many scenarios.

As soon as Mourinho and Huang Kaiwen arrived, the conference room became restless.

The noise level in the packed Camp Nou press room more than doubled.

Sitting there in a daze, Guardiola noticed Mourinho, forced a smile, and nodded.

Reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, entering the Copa del Rey finals, and winning the league title early... Guardiola wasn’t worried about his management position.

But this loss had no clear explanation, and he was still pondering what went wrong.

As Mourinho and Huang Kaiwen sat down, the journalists couldn’t wait to start questioning.

”Mr. Mourinho, Levy said you’re a robber, and he’s demanding compensation. What do you think?”

”Pep, who is to blame for this reversal after leading by 3 goals?”

”Previously, we heard you ran a blockade on Kevin. Can you tell us about your current physical condition?”

”Jose, Ashley Cole and Cheryl are entering a substantial stage of divorce, did making him a starter affect the team?”

”Mr. Guardiola, how about Bojan’s goal today, are you satisfied with his performance?”

Guardiola furrowed his brow.

He shook his head and said, ”We didn’t play well, it’s as simple as that. The players showed many things at the right moments, but for today’s match, we weren’t prepared. Overall, it’s our handling of throw-ins and corners where our detail faltered. That’s why we didn’t perform well and lost the match. Matches can be lost, but the manner of losing—we feel sad about that.”

”So who is responsible for the loss, Pep?”

The journalist pressed on.

”Of course it’s me; I’m the coach. When we win, the glory is enjoyed. When we lose, the responsibility naturally falls on me.”

Guardiola said.

Seeing no news from Guardiola, they switched their focus to Mourinho.

”Mr. Mourinho, what do you think?”

The journalist asked.

”Hmm?”

Mourinho hesitated for a moment and said, ”It was a victory for the entire team. I’m happy we won this match, showing we’re a united team capable of facing any challenge.”

Since the match ended, Mourinho had been on edge.

Camp Nou didn’t activate the sprinkler system, and Guardiola hadn’t uttered ruthless words.

This made Mourinho uncomfortable.

He had pent-up emotions with nowhere to vent.

He envisioned an explosive game, with Huang Kaiwen getting injured, both sides brawling, himself being sent off to the stands, the referee favoring Barca, Chelsea struggling to win, he and the players celebrating wildly amidst the sprinklers.

Post-match fights with Guardiola and verbal exchanges with Cruyff.

Firing off classic phrases to mock the opponent.

That’s everything Mourinho hoped for.

But now it seemed as if he was the only one who cared about this match’s outcome, hitting him like his punch met soft cotton.

”Well, what about Kevin’s role?”

The journalist asked.

”Kevin is a special one.”

Mourinho replied absentmindedly.

His whole demeanor lacked energy. Judging by his condition, it seemed his team had lost the match.

The journalists exchanged glances.

They all knew Mourinho’s history with Barca, every time Mourinho acted like he was on a high, wanting to streak through Camp Nou, what happened today?

He didn’t even mention not relying on anyone excessively.

This situation made the journalists worried.

Although they didn’t care about Mourinho’s fate, a defeated Mourinho was a one-time deal, and they hoped this loudmouth would continuously create news.

The journalists turned their attention to Huang Kaiwen.

Huang Kaiwen pulled the microphone closer and said, ”I’m happy to score a goal. Next, our target is the finals. Need to see who tomorrow’s winner is; that’s all.”
