“Sir,”

Huang Kaiwen was reading comics in his study when the loyal butler, Albert, knocked and came in.

“Didn’t I say that Barbara already took care of it?

I don’t want to deal with Christmas decorations.”

“No, sir,” the butler said with some difficulty, “there’s someone here claiming they want the million-dollar reward, and they seem quite mysterious.”

“How mysterious?”

Huang Kaiwen put down the third volume of “Night Yaksha” and looked intrigued at the butler.

“He says his name is Pendragon von Ambrosius, a descendant of Merlin, and he holds in his hand the sword from the stone!”

The butler said excitedly.

Huang Kaiwen’s face darkened, and he waved his hand impatiently, “Tell him to get lost.”

“Sir…”

“You, too, get lost!”

Albert left the study, looking dejected.

Huang Kaiwen slapped his forehead, a headache brewing.

These charlatans last brought a book written in Simplified Chinese, the ‘Thorn Birds’, and now they’re bringing the sword from the stone.

Damn it, the sword from the stone is broken, snapped in half, for goodness sake.

King Arthur later wielded Excalibur from the lake!

Still the sword from the stone, why on earth don’t you claim you’re holding Excalibur itself?

If it weren’t for this million-dollar reward, Huang Kaiwen wouldn’t have realized how low a con artist’s IQ could be.

And Albert, loyal as he is, seems to lose all common sense when it comes to these mystical matters.

Huang Kaiwen sometimes wonders if he and Ancelotti are brothers.

Sometimes, Huang Kaiwen really feels like shipping the butler and the coach off to Hogwarts.

Oh, the foolish Europeans.

Glancing at the time, it was past two o’clock.

Huang Kaiwen picked up his phone and called Kaka.

“Ricardo, I heard you didn’t go back to Brazil.

Rush over to my place, stay here tonight, and we’ll celebrate Christmas together tomorrow.”

On the other end of the phone, Kaka looked conflicted and said, “But…”

“No buts, don’t make me come after you with a crutch.”

In his rented apartment, Kaka sighed after hearing the dial tone on his phone.

Oh well, I’ll have to face it sooner or later.

Finding that Kevin was as enthusiastic as before brought him a sense of relief; as long as it didn’t affect their friendship, all was well.

Kaka dressed elegantly and with the Christmas gift ready, he left his apartment.

Huang Kaiwen, using a walking stick, strolled in the courtyard.

He was beginning to regret offering the reward; con artists kept showing up one after another.

Ding-dong, ding-dong.

Approaching the gate, Huang Kaiwen heard the doorbell and hobbled over to open the door.

He didn’t expect Kaka to arrive so soon.

The lad refused with his mouth but was honest with his actions.

But when he opened the door, Huang Kaiwen realized it was Caroline standing there.

The girl had clearly dressed with care, wearing a slim leather jacket over a colored knitted top, concealing her flat chest.

Below that, a wool skirt and stockings paired with high-end looking knee-high boots.

Quite a bit more mature than her usual jeans and t-shirt look.

“Come in quickly, it’s snowing outside.”

Huang Kaiwen warmly invited Caroline in.

“Wait, Kevin, I need to talk to you.”

Caroline took hold of Huang Kaiwen’s arm.

“Can’t we talk inside?”

Caroline pointed to the French sycamore at the gate, “It’s inconvenient inside.

Let’s talk out here.”

“Alright.”

Huang Kaiwen followed her with his crutch.

Caroline looked down, silent.

It took her a while before she finally looked up and asked, “Kevin, what do you think of me?”

“You’re great, beautiful, independent, have a good family, and you really respect yourself.”

Huang Kaiwen answered without even thinking.

“I…

I broke up with Ricardo.” Caroline looked up into Huang Kaiwen’s eyes and said softly.

“Ah.”

Huang Kaiwen had long suspected that this day would come, but he was still somewhat surprised when it did.

“What does ‘ah’ mean?”

Caroline was not satisfied with Huang Kaiwen’s reaction and tapped him, asking.

“Caroline, I’m with Barbara now.”

Huang Kaiwen chuckled dryly to relieve the awkwardness.

“She doesn’t mind you having other girlfriends, don’t think I don’t know, the newspapers wrote about you spending the night with her and that Fendi.”

“Slander, that’s absolute slander!”

Huang Kaiwen denied it with a sense of righteousness.

Seeing Huang Kaiwen’s reaction, Caroline laughed lightly, biting her lip, and after a few seconds stared at him, asking, “I like you, is it okay to be with me?”

“Not okay.”

Huang Kaiwen shook his head without even thinking.

“Why, am I not good enough?” Caroline did not expect such an answer.

Huang Kaiwen shook his head and explained softly, “You are good, at least, I haven’t met a girl better than you during my time in Italy.”

“Then why?

Don’t say there’s no feeling, I know you like me!”

Caroline’s eyes widened, tears already swirling in them.

“Caroline, indeed you match all my beautiful imaginations, you’re smart, beautiful, well-mannered, and pure…”

“Then why?”

Caroline stood firm, asking unwillingly.

“There aren’t so many ‘whys,’ because being with you would hurt Ricardo, and I don’t want to do that.”

Huang Kaiwen shook his head again.

When the system had prompted the “Destiny Revelation,” he was indeed excited because Caroline was nice and perfect, and at that time he had no psychological burden.

He thought that even if Kaka got divorced in the future, it wouldn’t be a big deal to be together, and he even felt a bit thrilled.

But after interacting with Kaka for so long, their relationship was very good.

Kaka was such a good person, and as a friend, Huang Kaiwen couldn’t fault him at all, so it was impossible for Huang Kaiwen to accept Caroline.

When Caroline said those words, the first person Huang Kaiwen thought of was Kaka.

There are 3 billion women in the world, but you only have so few good friends.

You should never hurt your good friends for a woman.

Huang Kaiwen had figured this out a few days ago.

The other party concerned had parked the car nearby and stood not far behind Huang Kaiwen listening for a long time.

When he heard Huang Kaiwen say this, Kaka was so moved he almost cried.

To understand, in Brazil it’s not unusual for a girl to have dated different boys within the same small group.

Kaka didn’t expect Huang Kaiwen to be so considerate of him.

Caroline, with tears in her eyes, looked at Huang Kaiwen and then glared at Kaka standing not far behind him, threw the gift in her hands at Huang Kaiwen, and shouted, “Then you be with Ricardo, I wish you happiness!”

Saying this, Caroline ran away crying.

Seeing Huang Kaiwen turn around, Kaka, caught eavesdropping, awkwardly raised the bags in his hands, and took the initiative to explain, “I walk quite softly, I wasn’t listening on purpose.”

“Do you think I believe that?”

Huang Kaiwen walked over, took the things from him, and said to Kaka, “You go check on her, confirm she’s back at the hotel, then come back and we’ll celebrate together, it’s about to get dark.”

“Alright, I’ll come back as soon as I can.”

Kaka took out the car keys and headed toward the road across the street.

Huang Kaiwen shook his head.

This matter was finally settled satisfactorily.

Even though Kaka and Caroline’s breakup was a foregone conclusion, and that good girl would marry someone else in the future.

But as long as the one who betrayed Kaka wasn’t himself, he had nothing to be ashamed of.

Ah, he, Huang, really was a good brother of China.
