After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

”Don’t worry, he’ll be recovered in 2 to 4 weeks max. I’m very confident in treating muscle injuries,” Dr. Meiselmann said to Ancelotti with a smile.

”Isn’t a muscle tear a serious injury? How can he recover so quickly?”

Huang Kaiwen asked, somewhat unwillingly.

Damn it, wasn’t it said that the Milan lab was full of veterinarians? How could they still let him catch the opening game?

Dr. Meiselmann wasn’t upset by Huang Kaiwen’s skepticism. Instead, he spoke softly and reassuringly to the team’s star player, ”The severity of a thigh muscle tear varies, and your injury is on the lighter side, so the recovery will be somewhat quicker.”

”But it really hurts. I felt like my leg was going to split open at the time. Could you check it again? I think I might have a severe injury,” Huang Kaiwen continued to struggle.

Ancelotti, wrapping an arm around Huang Kaiwen’s shoulders, comforted him, ”Don’t worry, I know you’re afraid the injury might recur if it’s not properly treated. But our Milan lab is the best sports rehabilitation facility in the world, using cutting-edge equipment primarily for prevention and secondarily for treatment. Every Milan player gets well taken care of.”

Huang Kaiwen silently gave Ancelotti the middle finger in his mind, thinking Ancelotti made it sound like some top-notch central city lab.

In the past, the Milan lab was notorious for its vet-like approach, and Dr. Meiselmann often appeared in the news for misdiagnosing star players.

Dr. Meiselmann also made a promise, confidently stating, ”If you’re not recovered within a month, I’ll resign voluntarily.”

Who wants to recover within a month?

Not being able to be out for a few months, Huang Kaiwen wasn’t too happy.

Seeing his distressed expression, Ancelotti continued to reassure him, ”Don’t worry, even if you’re injured, you won’t lose your place in the starting lineup. You were superb today, and your long passes will become a key part of our offense. I didn’t expect you to be not only excellent in attacking but also great in assists. It’s really fantastic.”

Alright, whatever you say.

Ancelotti cheerfully pushed Huang Kaiwen’s wheelchair.

As soon as they reached the club’s entrance, Ancelotti was immediately surrounded by reporters.

”Carroll, how serious is Kevin’s injury? How many games will he miss?”

”Could this injury affect Kevin’s position in the team?”

”Mr. Ancelotti, will Kevin’s injury affect your tactical lineup?”

”Does Milan have a contingency plan, with Kevin injured, is Milan going back to a 442 diamond midfield?”

Ancelotti handed Huang Kaiwen over to Barbara, instructed the club staff to put the wheelchair and crutches into the trunk, and then drew the reporters’ fire.

”Kevin is an important player for the team, and everyone at Milan is very sorry for his injury, which has been a great help to the team. Even without him, we will strive hard. Winning isn’t the responsibility of one or two players. I believe in every player, and I hope Kevin recovers quickly...”

Barbara floored the accelerator, leaving the reporters behind, and asked with some concern, ”How are you feeling?”

”I’ll be recovered before the season starts.”

Huang Kaiwen replied, clearly not pleased.

Barbara softly comforted him, ”It’s alright, it’s good that you can catch up before the season starts. You don’t have to worry about your position at Milan.”

Seeing Huang Kaiwen’s unhappy face, she quickly changed the subject.

”Today my best friends said you were great, and if it weren’t for your injury, I would have wanted to introduce you, the contract you signed with Fendi was actually from a friend’s company.”

”Are they pretty?”

Squeak—

It was another sudden brake.

The young lady didn’t know what was wrong, but she would suddenly brake when excited.

A flash of pain crossed Huang Kaiwen’s face, momentarily planning to reproach but Barbara quickly apologized, ”Sorry, I forgot you were injured.”

”It’s okay, I was just teasing you, don’t be mad,” Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.

Even if he couldn’t be sidelined for long, he shouldn’t vent on Barbara; he acknowledged his mindset was at fault earlier.

”No more of that next time.”

”Alright.”

Huang Kaiwen nodded with some guilt.

It wasn’t until the two of them got home that Huang Kaiwen realized his hellish life had just begun.

Barbara was dressed very scantily at home.

He was advised against strenuous activities, so Barbara had forced him into a compulsory single life.

Huang Kaiwen, not having to go to the team, played video games until past 2 AM before he fell asleep.

When he woke up, he realized Barbara hadn’t gone to work.

”Up already? I made you breakfast.”

More than 10 minutes later, a simple sandwich and fried eggs were served, which was already the limit of the young lady’s culinary skills.

”Where’s today’s newspaper?”

Huang Kaiwen asked.

”No, it didn’t come. I’ll call to complain!” Barbara said evasively.

”Bring it out,”

Huang Kaiwen knew Barbara too well, he tapped her towering figure.

Barbara handed over the newspaper reluctantly, complaining, ”Don’t listen to their nonsense. The Milan Sports Newspaper always likes to blabber; it’s not credible at all.”

Huang Kaiwen smiled at Barbara, comforting the young lady, then began reading the newspaper.

”Kevin’s pained expression and the wheelchair suggest that his injury is not as optimistic as Ancelotti had said. He might miss half a season or even longer; this injury could potentially affect Kevin’s career. Every prodigy declines to some extent after an injury, and some players even leave the soccer scene early. Below we review the top ten soccer stars whose careers were ruined by injuries...”

At this, Huang Kaiwen’s eyes brightened.

That’s right,

If he didn’t perform as well as before, it would be because of the injury.

The Milan Sports Newspaper had already provided him an excuse.

If I don’t perform well, it’s all the Milan lab’s fault.

Seeing Huang Kaiwen’s smile,

Barbara felt a pang of heartache; he must be smiling just to reassure her.

His heart must be incredibly bitter.

A genius like Kevin, extremely proud, must be deeply hurt by these unwarranted media mockeries and gloomy predictions about his future.

The young lady decided to activate her connections to find sports injury recovery experts globally and even kidnap them to Milan if necessary to treat her beloved.

Eating brunch, Huang Kaiwen felt a chill breeze, probably an issue caused by decreased immunity after his injury, right?

Never mind.

Huang Kaiwen decided to rest well in the next few days, wait for his teammates who played in the major tournament to return, and then make a presence in the team again.

He, Mr. Huang, was not one to favor some over others; the teammates who missed his treat last time would be invited again.

Moving wasn’t easy for him.

Why not just invite a chef home?

Make sure Maldini brings everyone around.

Let’s do this!

With many Brazilians in the team, why not prepare some Brazilian dishes to close the gap between people? Damn, if Inter Milan can have a barbecue crew, Samba Milan must keep up. As the team organizer, he must make the Brazilian teammates feel the love from their peers.
