After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

The next morning, Huang Kaiwen saw the newspaper condemning Materazzi.

It figures, now that he, Huang, had been “persecuted,” anyone opposing him was on the wrong side of political correctness.

The Milan Sports Newspaper wrote, “Materazzi is an extremely barbaric and fierce player.

His fouls are clearly intentional; he wasn’t aiming for the ball, he intended to injure Kevin.

Probably thinking, ‘if you can score, I can hurt you,’ and Materazzi succeeded.

Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable.

Serie A should not condone acts like Materazzi’s and must make them realize that fouls have consequences.”

After the match, Ancelotti also called for enhanced protection for talented players.

During an interview, he said, “Those vile acts cannot just be overlooked.

If the opponent attacks him and gets away scot-free, it means the matter is not taken seriously.

The referees must take action, or players will lose the opportunity to play in important matches.

Unfortunately, this happens often.

We must act decisively, start showing yellow cards.

I reiterate, we need to protect those geniuses in the football world!

At the same time, we need to strengthen the penalties for malicious fouls, and clearly, Materazzi is no first-time offender.”

Huang Kaiwen shook his head, put down the newspaper, and thought, “Materazzi is really unlucky this time.”

To injure someone else might have been fine, but to injure him, Huang, that was a definite death sentence.

True to form, that very afternoon, the Italian Football Federation announced on their website that Materazzi’s suspension had been extended by eight games.

Even so, Milan fans were not ready to forgive him easily.

In interviews conducted by TV stations immediately after, the citizens of Milan wished they could hang Materazzi on the gallows.

Online, European netizens overwhelmingly condemned Materazzi, perhaps because they could do so anonymously, they were even more radical than the Milan fans on TV.

After putting down his notebook, Huang Kaiwen patted his chest, thinking, “Online violence is truly terrifying, luckily, I’m the aggressor.”

Next, Milan’s schedule was very tight.

There was a match every two days.

Fortunately, such a schedule, and Huang Kaiwen’s absence, did not affect the team’s form; Milan won their last two matches in October, defeating Sampdoria 3-0 and Atalanta 1-0.

Midnight, November 1st.

Having just lulled the young miss to sleep, Huang Kaiwen was filled with anticipation for the store update.

[Free Kick Master]1000 destiny points, [Pele Template]10000 points, [24-hour Injury Immunity Card]20 points, [24-hour Hardening Potion]20 points, [Massage Mastery]100 points, [Skill: Proactive Ball Sense]200 points.

Indeed, there were more items than before.

As usual, he bought the [Immunity Card], but Huang Kaiwen was a bit skeptical about the new potion that claimed to cause hardening—was it the kind of hardening he was thinking of?

But skepticism aside, he still bought it.

Young people should dare to try new things.

He also purchased the newly refreshed skill.

After a round of shopping, his [Destiny Points] dropped from 340 to 100.

[Skill: Proactive Ball Sense—Work Hard, Cover for Natural Deficiency, don’t worry if you’re not naturally talented, just put in the effort, and you too can be like Ronaldo, the harder you work on the training field, the greater the reward]

Ah,

this skill is really great for changing one’s poor natural ball sense.

However, Huang Kaiwen felt it wasn’t quite right for him.

How to put it, the more you strive, the better you perform—wasn’t this just tricking fools?

He wanted to skip the effort and go straight to enjoying the benefits.

After he had got injured, he once again started enjoying the good days of earning a salary without playing.

Why should he start making an effort again?

Oh well, it was better than nothing.

His body would get injured if he trained too much anyway.

After a few days, Caroline arrived in Milan for her summer break.

In Brazil, by November it’s almost hitting 30°C, and it stays warm until the end of January or February.

Besides playing football, Kaka spent time with Huang Kaiwen and Caroline hanging out.

Most of the time they were at Huang Kaiwen’s place, with Caroline and Barbara watching the two players battle it out on the PlayStation.

When Kaka was training and playing, Huang Kaiwen took care of Caroline.

It’s worth mentioning that Barcelona managed to avenge themselves by winning 2-1 at home against Milan, which made them quite smug.

The Milan Sports Newspaper felt their victory was dishonorable, taking advantage of Huang Kaiwen’s injury.

The paper then got into a fight with the World Sports News.

By December, Huang Kaiwen distinctly noticed a change in Caroline’s attitude towards him.

Even her speech became gentle, and occasionally she’d act coquettishly towards him.

Huang Kaiwen could only lament, “It’s not that I, Huang Kaiwen, let my brother down, it’s that Caroline just lacks resolve.

If there’s to be blame, it’s only because my charm is too great.”

Having seen this outcome in “Fate Display,” Huang Kaiwen had some mental preparation.

But when he was truly faced with it, he was still somewhat at a loss.

Faced with Caroline’s overt and covert hints, Huang Kaiwen could only play dumb.

On December 18, Milan’s last game of the year 2004 ended, with both sides shaking hands in a 0:0 draw.

On the way back to the hotel after Kaka drove Caroline, she pulled Kaka to a secluded spot and stopped.

The devout Catholic Kaka did not accept cohabitation before marriage, and Caroline was a follower too.

“Ricardo, there’s something I want to talk to you about,”

Caroline’s expression changed several times, and finally, she looked at Kaka with a resolute face.

“It’s a bit cold.

Can’t we talk about it inside the hotel lobby?”

Kaka tightened the scarf around his neck and complained.

“No, today I must make things clear to you.”

Caroline gritted her teeth and said to Kaka, “I’ve realized that I like Kevin, so I want to break up with you.”

Boom—

Kaka’s mind was in complete chaos.

He had been cuckolded.

What was he supposed to do?

“Being disengaged, can I no longer hide my identity as the child of destiny?”

Or perhaps say, Do not bully the young and poor; thirty years in the west of the river, thirty years to the east?

“How long?” Kaka asked, biting his lip.

“How long what?”

“I’m asking how long you two have been together?”

“We’re not together; he doesn’t want to accept me.

It must be because of you.”

Hearing this, Kaka breathed a sigh of relief.

So Kevin hadn’t betrayed me.

Without noticing the change in Kaka’s expression, Caroline went on, “That’s why I hope we can break up first.

I know you’re a good person, but nobody can control their feelings.

I feel a little sorry, but please forgive my selfishness and agree to my request…”

“I agree,”

Kaka said, nodding.

“You should be more open-minded… huh, you agree?”

Caroline’s eyes widened as she looked at Kaka.

“Yes.”

“Well then.”

Caroline thought Kaka would cling to her; she didn’t expect he would let go so quickly and not as she anticipated.

“Well then, I’ll head back to the hotel.

You don’t need to escort me.

Take care of yourself, Ricardo.”

Caroline turned to leave.

“Wait!”

Caroline turned around, somewhat surprised, thinking Kaka couldn’t part with her; having too much charm was truly troublesome.

“I won’t meddle in your affairs, but don’t hurt Kevin.

Also, try to handle this matter well; make sure it doesn’t affect my relationship with Kevin.”

After speaking, Kaka turned and left snappily.

Caroline stood there, staring at Kaka’s departing figure.

Suddenly, snowflakes began to drift from the sky.
