Chapter 599: Chapter 599: The Events of the Past

Lin Dong quickly helped Uncle Long Ying to his feet.

”Uncle Long Ying, there is no need for such formality,” Lin Dong said.

However, Long Ying was very respectful. Although Lin Dong had told him to regard him as family, from the moment he had started serving Lin Dong’s father, he had sworn to dedicate his life to the Lin Family.

With Lin Dong’s father gone, Lin Dong was now his master.

The reason Lin Dong had rushed to find Long Ying, apart from helping him recover his strength, was another matter.

That was that he wanted to learn more about his mother from Long Ying.

Because of his encounter with Li Qing, he came to realize that his mother was not so simple.

His mother was definitely not an ordinary woman.

”Uncle Long Ying, I want to know more about my mother. Can you tell me in detail?”

The question Lin Dong asked made Long Ying’s eyes narrow.

Clearly, he had thought of something as well.

”This...”

Long Ying looked towards the direction of Jiangbei, a flicker of hatred crossing his face.

”What is it, Uncle Long Ying? Just who was my mother?” Lin Dong continued to press the question.

Long Ying sighed and said, ”Young Master, with your current strength, it would do no harm to tell you!”

”Before you return to the Capital, Young Master, it’s time to avenge your mother’s family!”

”Revenge? What do you mean?” Lin Dong immediately asked, ”What happened to my mother back then? What kind of grudge did she bear?”

”Who hurt her?”

Long Ying’s thoughts drifted as he slowly said:

”Young Master, your mother’s surname was Chen, with the single character ’Fei’ as her name. She was once the daughter of Chen Huaian, the head of the big Chen Clan from Jiangbei.”

”Not only was the lady extremely beautiful, esteemed as the number one beauty of Jiangbei, but she was also exemplary in every aspect.”

”In the business world, she was a once-in-a-century business genius. She was fluent in eight languages, and excelled in music, chess, calligraphy, painting, and dancing. What’s more commendable is that she also possessed great talent in the Martial Way.”

”At eighteen, she was ranked in the Tiger Rankings. By the age of twenty-five, she had made it to the Dragon Rankings. Although her martial talent was still a notch below your father and King Kunlun, she was among the top ranks nationwide,”

”with even greater martial talent than the talented Li Qing from the Li Family of the Capital.”

”She fell in love with your father at first sight, and the two shared a deep connection and eventually came together.”

”Not long after their marriage, they had you. But shortly after your birth, a disaster struck. The Lin Family, along with King Kunlun, foreign experts, and those old-timers who were wary of your father, made their move against him.”

”The Lin Family wanted your life, intending to pass your lineage to Lin Tiance, while King Kunlun and the others aimed for your father’s life.”

”Your father fought to the death to protect your mother and you but ultimately, sustained severe injuries and went missing.”

”Your mother, with you still in swaddling clothes, fled all over the place. The first place she fled to was her maternal home, the Chen Clan from Jiangbei!”

”Back then, your maternal grandfather, Chen Huaian, was still the head of the Jiangbei Chen Clan. And the present head, Chen Beiming, was just a tribute back then, nothing more than a servant!”

”But that servant, Chen Beiming, betrayed the Chen Clan. Backed by the Lin Family from the Capital and King Kunlun, he set out to kill your mother and take you back to the Capital!”

”Your maternal grandfather, Chen Huaian, fought to the death. But with the Lin Family’s support and numerous experts by Chen Beiming’s side, even with your grandfather’s formidable strength, he could not defeat them.”

”In the end, your maternal grandfather, your uncle and his family were all killed by Chen Beiming and his men.”

”As for your mother, she suffered severe injuries while protecting you and fled with you to a remote village in Nanjing...”

Upon hearing these things, Lin Dong was enraged.

The big Chen Clan of Jiangbei, as it turned out, was his mother’s family back in the day!

And the current head, Chen Beiming, who ranked sixth in the Dragon Rankings, was just a servant of their Chen Family back then.

But this servant, disloyal and treacherous, betrayed their Chen Clan, killed his maternal grandfather, his uncle and his family.

And forced his mother, also grievously injured, to perish prematurely.

”Chen Clan of Jiangbei, Chen Beiming. I will make sure you have no grave to bury your body!!!!!!” Lin Dong roared with bloodshot eyes.

At this moment, he wished he could immediately fly to Jiangbei.

But he was stopped by Long Ying,

”Young Master, do not be hasty. A deep vengeance must be avenged, but there’s no need to rush.”

”Wait until after the Lunar New Year to head to Jiangbei for revenge.”

”You should first go back to your hometown for the New Year and worship your mother.”

”Your mother must have left some mementos for you. Once you get back home, search carefully. Perhaps there, you will also find some information about your father.”

Lin Dong clenched his fists so hard that his fingernails made a creaking sound.

The floorboards under his feet bore a deep footprint due to the force generated by his subconscious anger.

Although Lin Dong wanted to go straight to Jiangbei to seek revenge, he suppressed the rage in his heart after hearing Long Ying’s words.

The revenge must be taken, but there was no rush for the moment.

He had to return to his hometown first, to pay respect to his mother.

Besides, the Lunar New Year was approaching, and he had previously promised his master, Daoist Master Qing Shan, that he would return for the New Year, and he could not go back on his word.

”Okay, after the New Year, I will immediately head for Jiangbei and annihilate that Chen Beiming! Destroy the Chen Clan!”
