Chapter 553: Chapter 553: The Identity of Lin Dong’s Mother

”Aunt Qing?” Lin Dong appeared very surprised.

”Giggle~ I am your mother’s sworn sister, so doesn’t that make me your aunt?” Li Qing laughed softly.

Lin Dong’s face changed, as he knew very little about his mother.

He had asked many times about his father, but his mother kept her lips sealed.

Moreover, she never talked to him about the past.

The only thing she had given him was Lord Long’s ring.

Now hearing that this Li Qing actually knew his mother, how could Lin Dong not be shocked?

”Aunt Qing, you knew my mother? What kind of person was she before?” Lin Dong unconsciously grabbed Li Qing’s shoulders, asking urgently.

Li Qing was taken aback, then countered, ”Your mother, she didn’t tell you about her identity?”

Lin Dong shook his head, ”No, she never told me anything about her past.”

”Aunt Qing, can you tell me?”

Li Qing hesitated for a moment, ”Since your mother didn’t tell you, she must have had her reasons.”

”It’s not right for me to say too much, but I can tell you this. Your mother was not an ordinary person; she was also a martial artist.”

”Moreover, she originally came from one of the big clans in Jiangbei, but unfortunately, that incident happened many years ago...”

”Aunt Qing, could you tell me what exactly my mother’s identity was? And which big family did she come from? Are my maternal grandparents still around?” Lin Dong asked a barrage of questions.

Li Qing expressed difficulty, ”Lin Dong, since your mother has not told you these things, it’s inappropriate for me to overstep my bounds and speak of them.”

”I can only tell you so much.”

Lin Dong wanted to ask more, but it was clear that Li Qing had made up her mind not to elaborate.

Lin Dong couldn’t force her.

”Lin Dong, you don’t need to ask too much. A person like your mother surely had her own considerations. Perhaps when the time is right, someone will tell you everything. Maybe, she has already arranged it all,” said Li Qing.

Lin Dong fell silent.

After learning that Li Qing was the sworn sister of his mother, Lin Dong showed her much more respect.

He also understood that her earlier enthusiasm towards him wasn’t because she wanted to be a cradle snatcher.

It was because she saw him as her junior.

That evening, the three of them stayed there, with Lin Dong lying in the pitched tent, his thoughts on his mother preventing him from falling asleep.

As far as Lin Dong could remember, his mother had suffered from a strange illness, an ailment that caused her to age quickly.

And her body was very weak as well.

By the time he was in high school, she had passed away.

Her age was not great, but she appeared very old in her final moments.

Lin Dong thought back to his mother’s strange illness; even now that he had become an extraordinary medical practitioner, he still had no idea what it was.

Even if his mother was still alive, Lin Dong would not have known how to treat her.

”Mom, what secrets were you carrying with you back then? Was your strange illness congenital or man-made?”

Lin Dong sighed, and it wasn’t until three in the morning that he finally drifted into a deep sleep.

The next day, early in the morning, the three of them continued on their journey.

After traveling for half a day, they finally reached the vicinity of the cliff where the Semi Medicine King resided.

At the moment, Lin Dong and his companions stood at a distant location, looking up.

They could see a cliff far ahead of them.

Beside the sheer cliff, shrouded in white mist, one could not see the location of the ’Semi Medicine King’ with the naked eye.

The photos from the Martial Arts Dark Web were even taken by aerial photography.

Luckily, Lin Dong and his party were not common people, but martial artists.

Especially Lin Dong, who had the ’Insight’ ability.

He could see through the mist in one glance and discern the situation on the distant cliff edge.

At that moment, he activated his Insight and looked over there. Indeed, he saw a ’Snow Lotus’ on the cliff, bud poised to bloom.

That was the Millennium Snow Lotus of the King of Medicines, which would only possess the medicinal effect of the King of Medicines once the Snow Lotus bloomed.

If it was plucked before flowering, its efficacy would be no better than any ordinary heavenly and earthly treasure.

This was also why everyone had to wait for it to mature.

”How do we get across this cliff?” Li Yanran looked at the opposite cliff and the canyon below it, feeling a surge of fear.

From this position, they could not see the bottom of the canyon at all.

”Internal Qi Transformation, form wings with condensed Qi, and step across the air!” Lin Dong said slowly.

”Then I can only watch you guys from over here,” sighed Li Yanran, as she was only a martial artist with the strength of an Inner Qi Master, naturally unable to do what Lin Dong said.

And even an Explosive Qi Master might not be capable of it.

Only an Explosive Qi Master capable of ”Inner Qi Shape Transformation” could achieve it.

Lin Dong nodded, as he had already released his Inner Qi.

He felt many breaths around them.

Just the breaths from the Explosive Qi Masters were no less than a dozen.

And there were even a few from Half-Step Earth Realm powerhouses.

These people, clearly, were all here for the Semi Medicine King.

”Let’s find a spot and settle down. It will probably be a few more days before the Millennium Snow Lotus matures,” Lin Dong said to Li Yanran and Li Qing.

Both women nodded, and they found a nearby area to set up camp.

However, not long after they had settled in, a woman’s voice rang out.

”Miss Yanran, what a coincidence. You’re here too, are you here to help Prince Tian Ce pick the Semi Medicine King?”
