Chapter 593: Chapter 593: The Purpose of Dragon King War God

”It’s similar, really similar,” the Dragon King War God murmured as he sat at the edge of the chessboard, holding a white chess piece in his hand.

At the moment, Lin Dong was following Ye Linglong into a pavilion in the garden.

Facing such a supreme figure from the War department, the Dragon King War God, Ye Linglong’s expression was extremely serious, and she dared not make any subtle movements with Lin Dong.

As Lin Dong approached, he could also feel hundreds of powerful breaths secretly focused on him.

The Dragon King War God laughingly said, ”Lin Dong, hello there. I am from the War department, the Dragon King War God.”

In front of this legendary figure from the War department, Lin Dong still maintained his dignity without being servile.

He clasped his hands in a bow and said, ”Junior Lin Dong, I have seen the Dragon King War God.”

The Dragon King War God waved his hand and said, ”No need for formalities, please take a seat.”

The Dragon King War God indicated the position opposite him.

Just now, that spot had been occupied by the Southern King, Xiao Jiu, who had already stood up and was now standing behind the Dragon King War God.

This time, the Dragon King War God was offering the seat to Lin Dong.

Lin Dong didn’t hold back, sitting down straight away.

He sized up this legendary figure from the War department, attempting to inspect the old man’s physical state through the ’inspection’ method of the four diagnoses in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

He realized that relying solely on observation was not enough to detect any hidden diseases the Dragon King War God might have.

It was evident that his physical condition was likely very complex.

”Do you play chess?” asked the Dragon King War God.

Lin Dong nodded; back in his days at the Qing Shan observatory, he often played chess with his master Daoist Qing Shan.

”Okay, accompany me in a game of chess first!” said the Dragon King War God.

Lin Dong nodded and went along with playing chess with the Dragon King War God.

Neither was in a hurry. They didn’t discuss serious matters right away and instead concentrated on playing chess.

Ten minutes later, the game was fiercely contested.

Both sides had made a hundred and fifty moves each.

”Not bad, your chess skills are even better than Xiao Jiu’s! Xiao Jiu could only ever play up to a hundred moves against me, and you’ve made it to a hundred and fifty without losing ground,” the Dragon King War God commended him.

To the side, Xiao Jiu was surprised, not having expected Lin Dong’s chess skills to be so advanced.

Lin Dong smiled and continued to make his moves.

His style was sharp and aggressive, boldly confronting the opponent head-on, battling fiercely as if in a life-or-death struggle.

There was hardly any retreat!

”Your style is full of killing intent, suitable for taking the domineering path,” said the Dragon King War God with a smile.

”What is the domineering path?” asked Lin Dong.

”The domineering path is to speak with Martial Power! Unlike the King’s Way which emphasizes strategy, it only believes in personal strength and has its own set of standards for judging right and wrong in one’s heart,” explained the Dragon King War God.

Lin Dong nodded, ”I dislike beating around the bush. Whoever provokes me, I kill them.”

”If there is injustice against me, I must seek justice,” he continued.

”Of course, if others don’t provoke me, I won’t initiate trouble either.”

The Dragon King War God laughingly said, ”To become a Heavenly Realm powerhouse, one must follow the domineering path! A Martial artist should be a bit more pure.”

This was his understanding, which he shared with Lin Dong while they played chess.

Whether Lin Dong could achieve Enlightenment depended on Lin Dong himself.

Lin Dong naturally understood this principle, ”I will stick to my own path!”

”Good, a firm commitment to one’s own path. I hope that my Dragon Country will see another Heavenly Realm powerhouse in the future!” the Dragon King War God laughed hysterically.

As the two conversed and laughed, the game of chess reached three hundred moves without them realizing it.

Even after three hundred moves, the situation on the board was still evenly matched.

”Hahaha, I never expected that in my lifetime, I would meet a chess player whose skills match mine. This is indeed a fortunate event in a lifetime!”

The Dragon King War God had not had such an enjoyable game of chess in a long time, and he could not help but laugh heartily.

He was generous in his praise for Lin Dong.

To the side, Xiao Jiu watched the scene before him, quite surprised.

The Dragon King War God had never praised anyone so highly before.

”Lin Dong, I have specifically come from the Capital City to Nanjing to find you for two matters,” said the Dragon King War God, finally getting to the point.

”Oh? What are they?” asked Lin Dong.

”The first matter concerns your half a year agreement with Lin Tiancai from the Lin Family from the Capital City, which I have already learned about. I am here to advise you to dissolve the agreement,” he said.

At the Dragon King War God’s words, Lin Dong frowned.

Without a second thought, he immediately shook his head in refusal.

”Dragon King War God, I must respectfully decline to comply with this,” Lin Dong said.

The Dragon King War God scrutinized Lin Dong for a long time before finally saying in a slow voice, ”I am doing this for your own good.”

”I know with your current strength, defeating Lin Tiancai is as easy as turning over one’s hand! But just defeating him is not enough.”

”Behind him stands the entire Lin family. There’s King Kunlun!”

”Within half a year, you won’t be able to grow strong enough to contend with King Kunlun!”

”If you go, you are merely seeking death!”

Lin Dong said, ”How will I know if I don’t try?”

”Dragon King War God, there’s no need to persuade me further. I have decided that in half a year, I will go to the Capital and seek justice,” Lin Dong declared.

”Sigh...” Hearing this, the Dragon King War God sighed deeply, ”It seems you are already aware of your origins. Is there really no room for negotiation?”

”If I were you, I would wait a few more years. Wait until I was strong enough before challenging King Kunlun.”

”It’s too difficult for you to reach King Kunlun’s level of strength within half a year. It’s nearly impossible.”

Even the Dragon King War God was not optimistic about Lin Dong’s chances.

But Lin Dong laughed loudly, ”I believe in myself!”
