Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 398: The Secret Diggers’ Stolen Money

This might not be my fault.

Perhaps... the other party discovered something, and their consciousness left this body?

This was too bizarre.

Was the civilization that invaded this world actually a parasitic life form?

But... I didn’t observe any anomaly leaving, or was it that I didn’t focus on using Spirit Vision to detect the information?

I slightly closed my eyes, then forcibly activated my Spirit Vision talent, actively accepting the information that I had previously discarded or ignored.

”This is... hm?”

I initially thought I would see the invisible form of the other party escaping, perhaps an energy life form, or something similar.

But when I actively activated Spirit Vision, I only saw a faint golden thread that I had previously ignored, abruptly snapping off the person who had lost all life signs.

I mobilized my mental power, ready to chase it with my hand, but it was like a rootless piece of duckweed, easily caught in my grasp.

”Thread of Destiny...”

I frowned, looking at this wisp of Destiny, and then at the guy who was dead and couldn’t be any deader.

His formerly well-dressed clothes seemed to lose some kind of support and scattered into countless tiny pieces.

I also noticed that these small pieces were square-shaped, but they didn’t seem to be physical entities.

Eventually, these small pieces disintegrated into the information I was familiar with.

But this information also seemed meaningless.

At least, my Spirit Vision couldn’t discern anything from it at the moment.

”So... what exactly is going on?”

I furrowed my brow.

I couldn’t figure out why this guy was related to Destiny again.

Could it be that my initial positioning of these Secret Diggers as invaders from another world was actually wrong?

After all, this was just one world.

How could it be simultaneously invaded by the Abyssal Demon Transcendent Race and this unknown civilized world?

Wouldn’t that be too much of a coincidence?

But my mood was truly poor.

Judging by that guy earlier, these Secret Diggers did not seem to fear death, or the death of this body was not their actual death, which was why they were so reckless.

In that case... could they possibly descend again through other channels?

They knew my methods, so it was highly likely they would launch a surprise attack against me using my own methods.

The only good news was that I was here after using the Disguise Technique.

But this disguise wouldn’t last long.

With my use of abilities, it would be exposed sooner or later.

At this moment, I walked over to the other two guys.

They were only severely injured, not unconscious.

But when I arrived, I found that one of them was already still, just like the guy earlier.

He didn’t even have a breath left.

This person was the one who was caught between the Spirit Cat Summoning Spell and the Falcon Summoning Spell.

He was also the one with the most severe injuries.

I hadn’t expected him to just give up and die.

His death was even more decisive than the first one.

However, I noticed that the thread of Destiny on this dead guy seemed to have vanished.

The Destiny thread couldn’t disappear into thin air unless... it was transferred.

But there was no target nearby for it to be transferred to.

Then, my gaze had no choice but to fall on the guy who hadn’t chosen to ”commit suicide” yet.

He had taken one of my punches.

He was probably still hurting in his abdomen... No, he might have suffered severe internal injuries, as I definitely hit him hard.

So, I directly chose to use Telepathic Communication.

I couldn’t miss any possibility of extracting information from him.

”I’m asking you, what happened to these two guys?”

”Hmm... strange way of communicating. Don’t you know?”

He raised his head with difficulty and looked at me, seeming surprised.

”Wait! You’re not a %$&?”

”Your speech is garbled. What’s going on?”

I quickly said, seeing his eagerness to talk.

”Garbled? As expected. You’re not an Explorer, are you? Is the garble gone now?”

He said.

”Yes, I’m not an Explorer. What does this garble mean? What information is it trying to prevent you from conveying? Can you write it down? Or imply it?”

I quickly continued to ask.

”Don’t waste your effort. What ￥&$ doesn’t want you to know, you will definitely never know. I’m very curious. With these methods of yours... you’re definitely not from this world, right!”

He said assertively.

”What makes you say that?”

I didn’t admit it directly.

”Your clothes, your appearance, your aura, and... you probably don’t know the language of this world, right? That’s why you used this Telepathic Communication method. Standing in a crowd, you look as different as a player character from an NPC in a game!”

”Alright...”

”You admit it! You really are from outside this world, aren’t you! Who exactly are you? Those methods, are they magic!”

”Perhaps. I’m a traveler forced here by an accident, and I’m looking for a way back.”

I said.

Treating the cross-world experience as travel made sense.

Wasn’t I a traveler?

I was indeed forced here, and it was true that I couldn’t go back.

I was certainly not lying.

”Really! Really! I can’t believe I met someone like this! Can you tell me your name?”

”You’re...”

I looked at this guy with a hint of disdain.

Even in this state, he had the nerve to ask my name?

”It’s fine. I’m just curious. You won’t even tell me your name?”

”Can you guys resurrect?”

Suddenly, I didn’t answer his question but asked a question I was very concerned about.

”Oh, oh, oh You guessed it. Then can you tell me your name? Maybe we can meet again later if fate allows.”

”Even if fate exists, it would be a bad one, and I’ll cut it off myself...”

As I spoke, a scorching Fireball rose from my raised hand.

The temperature in the unfinished room instantly soared.

”Holy... Holy shit! Magic Fireball!”

”Stop! Stop, stop, stop!”

Seeing this sight, he quickly yelled loudly, ”Don’t be so bloodthirsty! You haven’t answered my question yet! Name, at least a codename!”

”Then what price are you willing to pay?”

”Um... such a quick shift? Are you serious about this? What do you want? I should mention beforehand that there are many things I can’t talk about. You’ve already witnessed it.”

”Money. The currency of this world, valuable precious metals, and the equivalents of this world. If you give me enough, I might tell you my name, or even my codename or title.”

At this moment, I revealed my true objective.

After all, didn’t those Secret Diggers like to loot valuables and luxury goods?

They should be very rich then.

The other two were dead, so I couldn’t extract any information from them.

”Money?”

The Secret Digger looked at me in shock, then smiled in understanding.

”Oh Money is indeed very important. But I didn’t participate in many robberies or anything, so I don’t have too much money. I only got a decent amount when it was being split.”

”Then hand it over,” I said calmly.

”I’m afraid you won’t be able to take it all with you if I take it all out!”

”That’s none of your concern.”

”Alright. But... can you release one of my hands so I can operate the device? Don’t worry, you’re so powerful, I definitely can’t escape.”

”Mhm.”

I readily agreed.

While unlocking his right hand, several Floating Spells appeared in his visual blind spot.

The Spirit Cat was waiting in the corner, and the Falcon was scouting outside.

It was essentially foolproof.

If he could break through even these measures, there was a high probability that I wouldn’t be able to stop him.

As his right hand was freed from the Restraint Spell, he instinctively shook it.

The strong restraint must have been very uncomfortable.

Then, his fingers moved rhythmically, and instantly, countless coins gushed out.

I also instinctively took a step back due to the sudden change.

Seeing that the objects pouring out were all Hardwood Coins and stacks of paper currency, my tense expression finally relaxed.

Was this some kind of Storage Equipment?

I just couldn’t see what kind of Storage Equipment it was, or if it was just a simple Storage Spell.

But soon, while I was thinking, the money piled up into a small mountain!

Seeing all that money, I subconsciously swallowed.

He called this ”not much”?

And he called this ”some that was distributed”?

Not only paper money and Hardwood Coins, but I also saw gold and other precious metals, as well as what appeared to be gems or diamonds.

Those must be the luxury goods.

I picked up a piece of gold.

This did not seem to be the Arcanite Gold I was familiar with.

Although Arcanite Gold was a rare, gold-colored metal, this gold was merely a precious metal, while Arcanite Gold was a Transcendent Material!

”That’s about it. Is it enough? I actually have this world’s Lanath Bank Card, but I don’t think you’ll let me go. If I die or if it’s not me personally withdrawing the money, those stingy bankers won’t let you take out even a single coin.”

”That’s a pity. I really won’t let you go. In fact... I’ll even claim the bounty with your corpses.”

”Is that so? Then it’s my honor. I can still create value after death. I wish you success. Now, can you tell me your name?”

”You can call me... Yue,” I said after a thought.

”Yue? A single-character name? That’s nice. What about your codename? Your title? I’m curious about that too!”

He asked relentlessly.

”Hey, hey, hey... I saw you staring wide-eyed at all that money. You must be satisfied! Don’t back out now!”

”Calamity Witch. You can call me the Calamity Witch.”

After all, this was the title those people at the Witch Academy called me.

Although it was a bit of a small-time joke in the eyes of the Transcendent Witches, I had somewhat accepted this pleasant-sounding title.

I might as well use it here.

”Calamity Witch? Oh my God! You dare to call yourself the Calamity Witch? Can you really cause a catastrophe?”

”Perhaps.”

Without the suppression of the Great Weakening Spell’s effect, the power of my Fire Rain Domain Spellbook would definitely be much greater.

The power of the hand-crafted Fire Rain Domain in the Ninglan New City Underground City was already that immense, and that was only sustained by the sparse fire elements in the environment.

If I were to use magic power to activate it... a massive fire-cloud stretching for thousands of miles, covering the sky, and destroying a nation... it seemed entirely possible.

Moreover, Tan Han’s Ancient Glacial Ice Transformation Spell was also with me.

It was hard to imagine how terrifying a Transformation Spell would be without the suppression of the Great Weakening Spell.

Speaking of which, when Tan Han used that spell in Ninglan New City, did she use it poorly?

I hadn’t paid much attention back then.

So... since my arrival in this world, the people here seemed unaware that an existence far more terrifying than the Secret Diggers and Demons had quietly descended.

But who would have thought that such an existence would be held back by mere money?

I felt ashamed of my own actions, but I didn’t think there was anything wrong with what I was doing.

If I started by destroying a small country, I would encounter significant trouble.

Besides... the world is a fragile thing.

Not only the world, but also civilization and ecology.

After all, a world could face continuous disasters due to global warming, or its ecological cycle could break down and completely collapse.

So, essentially, world destruction is not difficult.

It would only take a few minor steps to turn a peacefully developing modern society into a war-torn wasteland.

Furthermore, this world had so many countries.

A slight provocation could easily trigger a world war.

Wait... was I thinking about strange things again?

Why was I suddenly thinking about world destruction?

”Holy shit... you really can do it!”

”Of course. There’s one more thing I need to ask you. Once you answer, I’ll send you on your way.”

”One more thing? What is it?”

Now he was curious.

”You call yourselves... Secret Diggers, right?”

”Aiya... something like that.”

”Then what secret are you trying to dig up in this world?”

”Dig up what secret? How would I know that? What does that have to do with me? That’s certainly not my job! Isn’t it more fun to be a bandit in this world?”

”Hm?”

Hearing his answer, I frowned deeply.

This answer was as good as saying nothing, yet it also seemed to reveal some information.

It was just that I was missing some crucial piece to connect all the dots and truly understand what these Secret Diggers were.

At this moment, my gaze fell upon this guy.

After a careful look, I realized he also had a wisp of Destiny on him—very faint, but present.

The Destiny of this world seemed to be extremely weak, so much so that the information I saw with Spirit Vision almost made me overlook it.

Once these guys die, their Destiny will completely sever its connection.

So... what if I proactively cut off his Destiny?

Although transferring Destiny seemed to require a specific ritual, the guy in front of me had already been defeated by me, and he didn’t even have a Seed of Destiny.

So, theoretically, I should be able to directly sever his Destiny thread.

After all, their relationship with the Destiny thread seemed similar to the relationship the Shop Manager had with the Destiny thread—I seemed to be able to undo it!

”Anyway, thank you for clarifying things for me, beautiful Calamity Witch Miss. We’ve talked for so long, and I haven’t even introduced my own name...”

”I have no curiosity about your name.”

Seeing the guy trying to strike up a conversation again, I no longer hesitated and immediately tried to take action.

I reached out and grabbed the thread of Destiny!

The guy in front of me was stunned, not knowing what was happening.

His words were cut off.

”It’s time to go on your way!”

I exerted force.

If I could forcefully seize this wisp of Destiny and see if he was fine, I would send him on his way immediately.

If something happened... then I would have to observe carefully.

”Eh? What are you...”

Before he could finish his sentence, I severed the Destiny thread from his body, and he collapsed onto the ground.

”He didn’t finish his sentence... so Destiny was his...”

”What on earth is this thing? Has the World Will become a spirit, or has Destiny developed its own consciousness?”

I said with a dark expression.

The situation was unfolding in the most confusing way I had predicted.
