Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 381: Tan Han’s Complete Spellbook Collection

After bidding farewell to Teacher Ji Niang, I immediately prepared to leave.

But on the corridor leading back, after being teased by several mentor witches, I suddenly realized that even if I walked the way I came, I couldn’t get out; I was teleported in.

I slapped my forehead abruptly, feeling like I had become stupid.

Then, I snapped my fingers and teleported to the villa where I lived.

After all, this was where I lived, so I had left a teleportation marker here, which was quite reasonable, right?

Looking at the front door, I wondered if I should just put the teleportation marker in my bedroom next time; that would be even more convenient.

Just as I was thinking this, my phone let out a series of notification sounds.

”Hm? What’s going on?”

I didn’t believe that multiple people would send me text messages simultaneously at this hour.

Picking it up, I saw that was exactly the case.

All the messages were sent hours ago, and I was only just receiving them.

Earlier, I must have been in an area with no signal!

The messages ranged from a while ago to one or two hours prior, and there were even missed calls.

All were from the same person, but judging from the number and the note, I didn’t recognize them.

The number wasn’t even registered to a real name.

Just as I was curiously clearing the unread messages and missed call notifications, the phone rang again.

”Hello? Hi, is there something you need?”

I answered and asked.

”Little Han, this is the Red Velvet Bakery. We have a Red Velvet Cake ordered for you.”

”Huh?”

I moved the phone away from my ear in confusion, then looked at the screen.

For a moment, I didn’t know how to respond, and the voice sounded very familiar!

”Senior Ying Shiqian?”

I asked tentatively.

”Aiya You recognized me?”

Ying Shiqian’s relaxed voice came through.

”It’s been a while since Little Han came to our Bakery Club. Senior thought you had forgotten us.”

”How could I?”

I said with a smile.

After all, the Shop Manager still owed me a custom gift, so how could I forget?

”Is there something you need, Senior? Also, what’s the deal with this number?”

”Oh, this is our bakery’s phone, specifically used for business. Little Han, we have a very important package for you. You know what the Red Velvet Cake from us means, right?”

”Um... I think so...”

I laughed awkwardly, recalling the last time I witnessed a Red Velvet Cake delivery, and then, Tan Han was lured into the Witch Academy.

Now it was my turn to receive one?

It suddenly felt... strange and a bit weird.

”Wait, what package is so important that you have to deliver it? Doesn’t the academy have clubs specifically for courier services?”

”Oh? Don’t you know? It’s Little Tan. Because the item being transported is too valuable, Little Tan didn’t trust the clubs, so she asked us. After all, we’re acquaintances, and it’s just a short walk, so Little Tan insisted on paying us.”

”Um... I think I understand...”

If it was Tan Han... did she really send her entire collection of Spellbooks?

”Little Han, where are you right now? I called you many times earlier, but you didn’t answer. What was going on?”

”Oh, I was busy with something. The place must have blocked the phone signal. I just received the messages. I’m already at my villa, haven’t gone in yet. Um... are you still free, Senior?”

”Our Red Velvet Cake custom project is a 24/7 operation. We must deliver the item to the designated recipient’s hands. Little Han, I thought this would be a very easy job, but you really caused me a lot of trouble!”

”Sorry, sorry... I truly didn’t expect things to develop this way. Do you need any compensation, Senior?”

”Compensation for what? This is within my job scope. Why would I need compensation? Little Han, wait a moment. I’ll be there right away.”

”Mhm, waiting for you.”

After hanging up, I let out a long breath, looking at the darkened sky, feeling a rush of emotions.

This Tan Han... she was serious about this.

I wonder... if the Spellbooks Tan Han mentioned included the one for the Ancient Glacial Ice Transformation Spell.

That was the crucial point.

To be honest, I didn’t care much about that Super Consumption Spellbook.

I had two of those now.

Even more outrageously, I didn’t even know what the second Super Consumption Spellbook was for.

I simply had too many spells to use them all.

The ones I used most proficiently were actually the basic Evocation Spells.

I had also been a bit lax about Spellbooks lately, but now that I had started researching [Transcendent Knowledge] with Teacher Ji Niang, I remembered that many spells could be derived during the research of [Transcendent Knowledge].

Theoretically, I shouldn’t lack spells in the future.

I just didn’t know which aspect Teacher Ji Niang’s [Transcendent Knowledge] was focused on.

If it was similar to the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, the derived spells would likely be auxiliary spells like the Meditation Methods I acquired back then.

After a short period of thought, a figure on a broom approached this direction in the dark night sky.

It was Senior Ying Shiqian.

It hadn’t been long since I last saw her, and she still looked the same... Well, it really hadn’t been that long.

”Hey.”

I called out softly.

A Illumination Spell lit up, particularly visible in the dark night.

The other party must have seen it and flew straight toward me.

”Ying Shiqian, it has been a while since I last saw you all. I’ve been a bit busy lately and haven’t stopped.”

”Aiya, I know. You were affected by that Sleeping Curse, and so was Little Tan. It worried us and the Shop Manager sick.”

”Senior Ying Shiqian knew about it too?”

”Of course I knew. I heard you guys caused a huge stir in that Dream State or whatever.”

Ying Shiqian didn’t put away her broom, indicating she didn’t plan to stay long.

”Not really, we just looked around...”

”You’re too modest Little Han, Little Tan told us roughly what happened. You really saved the day this time. Otherwise, why would Little Tan send you all her Spellbooks? By the way, what kind of secret deal did you two make? Can you tell me?”

”That... is a bit inconvenient. I just said it casually, but Little Tan took it seriously. By the way, didn’t you try to talk her out of it?”

”We couldn’t talk her out of it. The Shop Manager tried too. Little Tan was determined. She said she had borne things she shouldn’t have at her current stage, and now she wants to let go of these burdens. So... there you go this burden is transferred to you. Remember to sign for it.”

Senior Ying Shiqian said, handing over something that looked like a card.

”This is... a Storage Equipment?”

”That’s right. It’s all yours. This is Little Tan’s entire collection of spells. I was practically drooling over them, but don’t worry, I didn’t touch a single one!”

”I trust your character, Senior.”

I took the card.

With a sweep of my mental power, the Storage Equipment’s contents, packed full of Spellbooks, nearly blinded me.

”I’ve got the item. Um... what about the ’signing for it’ part?”

”We’re unilaterally signing for it. The proof of receipt is... this.”

Ying Shiqian said, taking out a beautifully packaged large box from her Storage Equipment.

It was tied with ribbon, and inside the square transparent box, the Red Velvet Cake looked particularly enticing under the Illumination Spell.

”Hehe A Red Velvet Cake. This is Little Yihan’s rushed new creation.”

”Then please thank Senior Tang Yihan on my behalf.”

”Aiya No problem. Little Yihan also asked me to send her regards. She knows you’re very busy now and are well-known in Witch Academy. We won’t bother you anymore.”

”Alright, then that’s it for now?”

”Mhm mhm I have to start my nightlife now. But one more thing, Little Han, you came back so late. What were you doing? And the signal was blocked?”

Ying Shiqian rode her broom but turned her head to ask curiously.

”Oh, I was helping my mentor with something. I went to a place similar to a Secret Realm. I’ll probably be going there often now. If you can’t reach me by phone, I’m most likely there. Just leave me a message, and I’ll reply when I see it.”

”I see... That’s great... Little Han is still a first-year student, right? And you can already help a Transcendent mentor... Well, keep up the good work Little Han. I believe you can continue to create miracles. Hehe I’ll have something to brag about later.”

”Mhm, but Senior Ying Shiqian, can you not sound so cheesy?”

”Cheesy? Isn’t this just a common blessing? Aiya Never mind. That’s it. I’m leaving. Bye-bye.”

”Bye-bye”

I waved goodbye to the figure flying away in the air until she was out of sight.

”Sigh...”

I looked at the Storage Card in my hand.

Tan Han really gave me a challenge...

Well... I guess it can fill up my Memory Bookshelf.

If Tan Han ever regretted it, I could just return it to her.

After all, I wouldn’t have much chance to use these Spellbooks.

I swept my mental power over the contents and found the most unique one inside.

I took it out.

It was an object carried in a book-like container.

After all, ”fragile” things like Spellbooks would self-destruct without a container.

With a sweep of my Spirit Vision, I felt the information inside this Spellbook even without absorbing it into my body.

”Ancient Glacial Ice Transformation Spell...”

I shook my head, threw the Spellbook back into the Storage Card, and then tossed the card into my four-leaf clover hairpin.

Then I carried the box of Red Velvet Cake.

It seemed like fate.

The people in the dorm were in for a treat.

I wondered if they were asleep yet.

Pushing open the front door, I heard the sound of the living room TV.

It wasn’t loud; it must have been deliberately kept low for the night.

”Little Han Sis, are you back?”

The people watching TV in the living room naturally noticed the door opening.

”Mhm. Guan Qiuling? You’re still awake this late?”

I asked, surprised, looking at the petite figure on the sofa.

”Mhm. I’m not very sleepy and don’t know what to do, so I’m watching TV. This channel lets me learn a bit about the situation outside the academy.”

”You want to know about the situation outside the academy?”

I placed the entire Red Velvet Cake on the coffee table, then plopped down on the sofa.

”Mhm... Eh? Little Han Sis, what are you carrying... is it your birthday?”

”No, a friend sent this Red Velvet Cake. I was surprised too, but I don’t have much of an appetite now. Let’s try it together. This was made by the senior student from the bakery I used to work at.”

”Little Han Sis has that connection too?”

Guan Qiuling also put down the remote and sat up straight.

”But is it really okay to eat dessert this late at night?”

”What’s wrong with it? We’re all Prospective Witches now. Can’t the Witchification from the Magic Power Source burn off a bit of heat from dessert? Don’t worry. Go look at the senior students. Do you see any who are fat, even with their nightly indulgence in sweets?”

”I guess you’re right...”

Guan Qiuling recalled and thought about it.

It seemed to be true.

After being at Witch Academy for so long, she had seen many seniors, and indeed, she hadn’t seen any who were fat, or even very ugly.

”Is this a Red Velvet Cake? I haven’t really eaten one before.”

”It is. But about the Red Velvet Cake... if you can, if someone ever sends you a Red Velvet Cake in the future, it’s best not to accept it.”

”Hm? Why?”

”Maybe it’s the industry scandal I learned about while working part-time. Especially the Red Velvet Cakes in Witch Academy, it’s best not to touch them. You might have to pay a price.”

”Ah? There’s an industry scandal like that?”

”Of course. According to rumors, Tan Han, the top student in our grade, received a Red Velvet Cake, and then she was lured into the Witch Academy.”

”Seriously?”

”I think so...”

I smiled without explaining further, taking the small plastic knife to cut the cake.

”Here, this piece is for you. Give it a try.”

”Thank you, Little Han Sis.”

”No problem. Why thank me?”

I also took a piece for myself, then looked at Guan Qiuling and asked casually, ”By the way, where are the others in the dorm? Are they asleep yet?”

”Um... I’m not sure, but Dongli Yiren and Yu Yetian are upstairs. I don’t know if they’re asleep. Hong Chenyi seems to be out having fun, but I guess she’s probably with Shi Huiyu.”

”Don’t say it, that’s actually possible.”

I also sat on the sofa with a smile.

The TV was playing the news at the moment, which reminded me of the things the Academy Head told me about the Small World integration.

Before that, there would be preliminary public opinion guidance.

But unfortunately, the Transcendent Academy was still a very mysterious existence to the outside world.

Just as I was wondering how they would guide the relevant public opinion, the news subtly mentioned some unusual stories.

It was a rumor circulating from the Transcendent Academy, suggesting the hypothesis of other worlds possibly existing beyond this one, pending further verification, and so on.

Well... I was overthinking it.

I frequently heard these baseless rumors even before I entered the Transcendent Academy, and they often made headlines.

As long as the source was linked to the Transcendent Academy, it could spark heated discussions among many people.

For example, the rumors of the end of the world, which would prevail for a while every few years.

At this moment, most people would probably take this as another joke.

Other worlds beyond this one... no one would believe it.

But knowing the inside story, I clearly understood that this time, it was real.

Just then, there was some movement upstairs.

I looked up and saw Dongli Yiren.

”Dongli Yiren, come down and eat cake. Don’t waste it.”

”Cake? Where did it come from?”

”A senior gave it to me. Just leave a piece for Hong Chenyi and Yu Yetian. By the way, why don’t you check if Yu Yetian is asleep?”

I said.

”Better leave her alone. Her door already has the ’Do Not Disturb’ sign up.”

”Alright then. Come down and taste the craftsmanship of the senior student from the bakery I used to work at. I remember you’ve been there, Dongli Yiren, haven’t you?”
