Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 367: Return to Routine and Monthly Exam

”We’re back, anyone home?”

Looking at the familiar villa in front of me, I pushed open the door ahead of Dongli Yiren.

Seeing no lights on inside, I subconsciously called out, as I hadn’t seen them for a while and missed them quite a bit.

”By rights, Guan Qiuling should have no classes today, just like me, but it’s usually hard to find her. Maybe she went to a senior for a quick tutoring session.”

Dongli Yiren thought for a moment and said, ”But they should be finishing class soon.”

”Hm, that’s true.”

I looked around the villa; there weren’t any major changes from before.

I also checked the villa’s magic power reserves, which seemed to be surprisingly not at a critical level.

”We store all the magic power here daily, so the utilization rate is maximized. It’s not just for the villa’s daily consumption; we also need to charge our phones.”

Seeing my actions, Dongli Yiren explained.

”Then, logically speaking... you all must have been very frugal these past few days, right?”

I said with some surprise.

After all, with just a few people, even if the Magic Power Source was fully charged every day, it would still be a struggle.

This was where the benefit of having many dorm residents came in.

The villa had many guest rooms, but with only a few people now, it was indeed a drop in the bucket.

”No, um... I should thank Guan Qiuling. She’s now the most... oh, besides you, she has the most Magic Power Sources in our dorm.”

”Guan Qiuling?”

In my impression, she was a very timid person who liked to play games with senior students.

”Yes, according to her explanation, the senior who takes care of her is very generous. She now has a double-digit number of Magic Power Sources.”

Dongli Yiren said calmly.

”Aren’t you envious?”

Although somewhat surprised, I still subconsciously asked.

”I won’t sell my dignity, and I want to create value with my own hands.”

Dongli Yiren said, closing her notebook, ”And Little Han, didn’t you also talk about ways to get Magic Power Sources from the Witch’s Secret Realm? Just accumulate them slowly, we are in the accumulation phase now. I also asked my counselor about other ways to get Magic Power Sources, I... um, I made a fool of myself. It should be easy for you to get Magic Power Sources, right?”

”Hm, I wouldn’t say it’s that simple, but as long as there’s enough Magic Power Source, it’s fine.”

I nodded.

After all, Magic Power Sources were used to promote the Witchification process.

My Witchification process had already reached the level of a ”pseudo-Witch Physique” in my body.

Further Witchification would continuously improve my physical fitness, mental power quality, transcendent affinity, and other abilities, but these were all very slow, taking years to show results.

So, thousands of Magic Power Sources versus a limit of ten thousand didn’t make much difference to me.

But now, I was not using Earth Vein Chains to bear the Magic Power Sources, so theoretically, there should be no clear limit.

Moreover, I had an advantage that others at the same level didn’t: ”Self-generating Magic Power.”

The foundation accumulated through my Witchification would be deeper than that of senior students who relied solely on Magic Power Sources for Witchification.

So, a being like a Transcendent Witch, even if not a Body Cultivator, would be extremely powerful just by relying on the passive physical enhancement brought by the innate talent of self-generating magic power.

I bent down and gripped the villa’s charging point.

Before, I could only wait for it to slowly absorb the magic power from my Magic Power Source.

But now, I had begun to initially control magic power and could actively and quickly provide energy to it.

I watched the numbers rapidly climb and was somewhat satisfied.

But Dongli Yiren, who was about to go back to her room and glanced over unintentionally, saw the rapidly jumping numbers, her eyes full of confusion and shock.

”This... what’s happening? The numbers are jumping so fast, is it broken?”

”When your mental power quality is strong enough, you can control magic power, and then you can actively charge it.”

I explained.

However, I felt that magic power shouldn’t just be activated by simply having strong enough mental power.

It should also be related to Witchification, and... in my previous experiments, I also felt a concept: magic power affinity.

Witchification seemed to be linked to magic power affinity.

Therefore, merely having strong enough mental power might not be enough to control magic power, otherwise, magic power wouldn’t be called the exclusive transcendent power of the witch race.

Only by first accepting magic power, undergoing Witchification, and then having magic power affinity, would mental power be qualified to control magic power.

”Control magic power? But didn’t the teacher in class say it would take at least a few years? How can you do it now?”

”Your teacher in class even talked about this?”

I was also a bit surprised.

Theoretically, current courses shouldn’t have covered this knowledge.

Could these contents have been classified as common transcendent knowledge courses?

”When talking about magic power, the teacher mentioned it in passing.”

”Oh, that’s under normal circumstances. I’m a special case. Do you see my current appearance?”

At this moment, I also stood up, tossing my silver-white long hair to one side, ”This appearance is no longer the effect of a Disguise Technique. This is my true form now; my original appearance is a thing of the past.”

”You... you, that Sleeping Curse is so sinister, it turned your hair white overnight?”

Dongli Yiren asked, somewhat disbelievingly.

”Wrong guess. It has little to do with the Sleeping Curse. Dongli Yiren, in the transcendent world, a change in appearance most of the time represents a qualitative change or enhancement of power. Perhaps you can’t understand what I did, but you just need to know that I actively went into the Sleeping Curse incident.”

”You’re really brave...”

After her shock, Dongli Yiren couldn’t help but exclaim.

”Is that so? Thinking about it, that was also the case; it wasn’t just me, many people actively got involved in the Sleeping Curse this time.”

Those who were willing to try without hesitation in the face of the unknown, those guys were truly brave.

”They really have a death wish. If it were me, I wouldn’t have enough time to hide.”

”Your thoughts are correct. That’s not something ordinary people can get involved in. If Witch Academy encounters similar incidents again in the future, consider it my advice, and I hope you can stay far away from such things.”

I quite admired Dongli Yiren’s mentality.

Of course, what I said was also hoping that Dongli Yiren wouldn’t get caught up in The Script for no reason; at that point, she would truly be unable to control herself.

Precisely because I had experienced it, I understood how powerless cannon fodder was within The Script.

Just thinking about the people sacrificed in the underground city made it clear.

”The Academy will have similar incidents again?”

Dongli Yiren asked suspiciously.

”Perhaps... who knows about such things? This is the powerlessness of the weak in the transcendent world. The weak have no right to choose. A single thought from a powerful being could inflict a dimensionality reduction attack on us. This is the transcendent.”

After finishing my conversation with Dongli Yiren, I returned to my room.

Lying on the soft, large bed, a wave of drowsiness instinctively washed over me.

It really was good to be here...

I had been busy all these days, expending an unknown amount of my energy.

The excessive use of Spirit Vision, while improving my control over it, also came at a cost.

Continuous fighting, battling, thinking, and researching—I could say that in Ninglan New City, I enjoyed a somewhat leisurely time a few days ago, then became busy, with things getting more and more intense towards the end.

But I had to admit, under that pressure, I also had huge gains.

For the next two days, I planned to take a break, at most ”entertaining” myself by reviewing the content for the monthly exam, and then properly saying goodbye to Big Sis Bai.

Although Big Sis Bai said she would be back in a few days, who would believe me if I said I wasn’t worried?

I certainly didn’t believe it.

This was also a good opportunity to plan my future path.

Thinking carefully... I had so much to do.

Daily meditation, which I couldn’t skip, and the aromatherapy I bought from Senior Gong Xihuanhin, were now on the agenda.

And now there was another ongoing project: the ritual battle dance, coupled with the Primary Body Forging Alchemy Ring, used to enhance physical strength.

These were all things that required persistence and couldn’t be sloppy.

The rest were things related to Runology and Alchemy.

Runology, needless to say, was very important.

If I hadn’t studied Runology on this trip to Ninglan New City, I wouldn’t have had the foundation to master those techniques.

And after mastering those techniques, I also understood my own shortcomings.

My understanding of runes wasn’t deep enough.

Whether it was the Nightmare Spell or the Dream Rewrite Spell, although I successfully developed them, the process was bumpy.

Moreover, I couldn’t answer many questions posed by the scholars because I didn’t understand them either.

Ultimately, my foundation was too shallow.

And Alchemy.

The Alchemy system was a more effective way, a means, to understand the transcendent world than the spell system.

Since I had started, I certainly wouldn’t neglect it.

I opened my phone and scrolled to the long-unopened dorm group chat.

After a quick look at the history, I found mostly messages about bringing food, just as Dongli Yiren had said—nothing eventful.

I also popped up briefly in the dorm group chat, not planning to surprise them by staying silent.

Yang Yuehan: I’m back.

Hong Chenyi: ?

Hong Chenyi: Little! Han! Sis!

Hong Chenyi: Little Han Sis, are you back?

I missed you so much these past few days!

Yu Yetian: I heard two days ago that people affected by the Sleeping Curse were waking up one after another.

I didn’t hear any news from you, Little Han, so I thought something had happened to you.

Hong Chenyi: What could possibly happen to Little Han Sis?

Yang Yuehan: What could possibly happen to Little Han Sis?

Guan Qiuling: What could possibly happen to Little Han Sis?

Hong Chenyi: Oh, so Qiuling is here?

Everyone’s lurking?

Where’s Yiren?

Is Yiren lurking too?

Dongli Yiren: Yes.

Dongli Yiren: Little Han and I are already back in the dorm.

I looked at the messages in the group chat, replied a few times, and then went back to my room.

I tidied up my clothes; many of them no longer fit me.

A good number of clothes were prepared by Big Sis Bai before I enrolled, and those were even more unwearable now.

I planned to sort these clothes, dispose of them later, and then buy some nice new ones.

Also... I should take a good shower today.

It was my first time showering with this body.

Although I knew my body inside out and could ensure its cleanliness at all times, there were some things that showering couldn’t replace.

In the blink of an eye, two days passed.

I glanced at the fully filled paper in my hand and, satisfied, stood up to submit it.

This was the last exam, and also the most difficult fundamental evocation section among all newcomer courses: the advanced elemental theory test.

The students beside me, still scratching their heads, felt a wave of pressure hit them as they saw someone already submitting their paper.

The invigilating teacher smiled and greeted me when she saw me.

She had no dissatisfaction with me submitting my paper early.

After talking with the Academy Head, I understood that my name, and even my current appearance, had spread among the Transcendent Witches, which meant among the mentors, at Witch Academy.

The past two days were indeed quite fulfilling, and it would have been even better if no teachers had come looking for me for no reason.

Their reasons for finding me were simple: they were very interested in the semi-finished spells I had created in Ninglan New City.

Yes, semi-finished spells.

Whether it was my Dream Rewrite Spell or Nightmare Spell, they were all unfinished, semi-finished spells with undefined systems and inability to be spread or used, etc.

After all, these spells heavily relied on my Floating World-level Spirit Vision to achieve such precise operations.

Those teachers rushed over, hoping to invite me to refine these spells with them, even willing to create a corresponding spellbook after completion and give me the first spellbook from this research.

But I politely declined them.

After all, I didn’t have that much time to deal with these matters.

After leaving the specific environment of Ninglan New City, the Dream Rewrite Spell no longer had any use.

The dream state no longer obtained real-world information, so what was there to modify?

As for the Nightmare Spell, it was more or less the same.

If the dream state and reality didn’t interact, this spell wouldn’t even be able to find a target to cast on.

After all, wasn’t the Nightmare Spell about pulling people into the dream state and reality touching the dream state?

But they remained persistent, and I eventually understood.

For Transcendent Witches, those who were qualified to research such spells... surely had ways to make the dream state invade reality, after all, wasn’t Ninglan New City such an example?

Now Ninglan New City had returned to its original state, and the dream state had been expelled from reality.

Even if I returned to Ninglan New City, I wouldn’t be able to use these spells.

Eventually, I couldn’t stand the entanglement of these witches, so I released these rune rituals.

I didn’t think there was any problem with releasing them for free.

It would be unwise to demand any benefits for this.

During the process of those witch teachers coming to find me, I learned that many witches were interested in these spells, and I couldn’t possibly ask each of them for benefits, could I?

It also wouldn’t be good to only accept benefits from the witches who came over; it was better to gain some goodwill publicly.

In truth, it was simply because I feared trouble.

After all, to get along well in Witch Academy, the most important thing wasn’t how good your relationship was with some powerful senior, but how your relationship was with the teachers.

Because any one of those teachers was a Transcendent Witch; no senior could stand against them.

Walking out of the examination hall, just as I was about to leave, I saw a familiar figure emerging from another examination hall not far away.

It was Tan Han.

It seemed her speed was similar to mine.
