Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1431: Chapter 764: The Achievements of the R&D Department

During dinner, Lin Ya’s gaze would occasionally meet Liang Yuan’s eyes.

She immediately lowered her head, avoiding his unusual gaze, her cheeks slightly flushed.

Liang Yuan also knew this wasn’t good, so he averted his gaze and tried to talk more with Yang Mei, Song Wen, and Dong Yan.

He would occasionally play with Xiaoliang Hong.

“Brother Liang, does this mean our Yangshan is the only shelter left in Linjiang City now?” Dong Yan hurriedly asked.

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, smiling: “Yes, now our Yangshan has truly unified Linjiang City.”

“Next, we need to focus on developing rune technology and livelihood.”

“Of course, the floating islands in the sky will become our new strategic goal; in the short term, we need to regain air supremacy.”

Song Wen asked, “So, in terms of air supremacy, our enemies are just Mengya Company and Carey Technology Company?”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly: “Mengya Company had originally occupied Flying Manta Island, but now we’ve taken it.”

“However, according to Zhou Haoran and Yu Wentao’s account, they report to the Mengya Company headquarters once a month.”

“So within a month, the headquarters will likely send someone, and by then, the situation on Flying Manta Island will be hard to conceal.”

“As for Carey Technology Company’s people, they’ve already occupied Hell Island and even stationed troops on Divine Tree Island. We need to find a way to capture these two islands next.”

“In short, time is very tight, but fortunately, these are battles on floating islands and have nothing to do with floating islands.”

“You all help me secure things at home and develop the floating island; I’ll handle the matters in the sky.”

After nearly an hour of eating and chatting, everyone finished their meal.

Lin Ya took the initiative to stand up and tidy up the dishes, while the other women didn’t stay idle, and everyone helped out.

Only Liang Yuan, the big guy, had nothing to do and went out for a walk with Xiaoliang Hong.

At the complex plaza, quite a few business stalls were already set up, and people gathered in small groups, eating barbecue.

There was no alcohol, mainly because alcohol was too expensive, especially grain alcohol.

Now, grain is a precious commodity, and no one would use it to make alcohol.

Liang Yuan took a turn, and many people greeted him, looking a bit uneasy.

Liang Yuan simply left the plaza and took a tour around the research department.

The research department and weapon factory personnel were discussing the development of new ships and sentry robots.

Yu Wentao had already been controlled by Liang Yuan; under the manipulation of the Soul Imprisonment Rune, he cooperatively disclosed his research achievements over the years.

He even provided the design plan for the sentry robots.

So now the entire research department was exceptionally busy, sometimes staying lit all night.

The weapon factory was even more hectic, with all production lines fully operational.

Not only were they producing parts for the ships, but they were also making armored vehicles, various weapons, and more.

With the appearance of sentry robots, the scale of the entire arms factory had expanded several times over.

Liang Yuan listened to Yang Mei’s report that a large part of Yangshan’s finances was being invested in the arms factory.

Liang Yuan also knew it was necessary.

If Yangshan wanted to develop rapidly, there couldn’t be any slack in armaments.

Outside, Mengya Company and Carey Technology Company still eyed them covetously.

In the deep sea, powerful mutant beasts appeared from time to time.

On the floating islands, various Celestial Abyss Giant Beasts attacked.

Without a sufficiently strong military force, it was impossible to defend their current territory.

Therefore, military strength had to be greatly developed.

“Mr. Liang, look, this is the Yangshan Sentry Robot that we developed based on the materials provided by Yu Wentao.”

Liang Yuan held Xiaoliang Hong and looked at the nearly fifteen-meter-tall sentry prototype standing in the research department room.

The entire sentry still had a giant form, its body built entirely of scale-like metal.

Each scale had special runes inscribed within.

It exuded a cold metallic texture, much like a robot from a future world.

“How powerful is this sentry robot?”

Liang Yuan asked.

“From the scale of it, if the superpower stones stored inside are released all at once, it would be equivalent to the strength of a hundred thunderstorms.”

“A single attack definitely surpasses the level of experts with about thirty percent gene recombination progress; the exact experimental data isn’t out yet, this is our speculative data, and it still needs further testing.”

Liang Yuan raised an eyebrow: “Can it be improved further?”

Liang Yuan knew very well that if the theoretical data was only so much, then the actual data would certainly be lower, not higher than the theoretical data.

Because during the mechanics’ operation, there would undoubtedly be energy loss, inefficiencies, and other problems.

Li Hanzhong said: “Theoretically, it can be further enhanced as long as the array structure can be optimized, or if a higher-level rune array can be found, its power can naturally increase.”

“But in Yangshan’s rune reservoir, no more powerful arrays have been developed.”

Liang Yuan’s heart moved slightly hearing this.

Yangshan now had quite a few rune bones in reserve.

Every day at the slaughterhouse, a large number of mutant beasts are slaughtered, including powerful mutant beasts in the flood, all can be hunted and processed.

For such a long time, Yangshan has collected a large batch of rune bones.

Each type of rune bone is sent to the research and development department’s rune resource library for study and analysis.

Then there are dedicated researchers to study rune combinations, to see if new arrays can be formed.

This has already become a mature team.

However, the runes on rune bones also differ in strength.

By carefully pondering each rune, one can even learn a skill from it.

But these skills also have quality distinctions.

Just like the rune skill Liang Yuan won in the lottery or the skill he comprehended from the rune bones himself.

These skills, from white to green to gold, represent the quality of these rune skills.

The higher the quality, the more rare the rune usually is.

Of course, rarity doesn’t necessarily mean strength.

But in most cases, it follows the logic that the higher the quality, the more powerful the rune.

For example, the Soul Imprisonment Rune in Liang Yuan’s hand already reaches gold quality!

The effect of this rune is frighteningly powerful; even if the target dies, the soul cannot escape the rune’s control.

However, if you were to use it directly in battle, it would indeed be difficult to bring into play.

Because the target will not stupidly stand there letting you embed the rune into their body.

So, although rare runes, they cannot necessarily be used to enhance combat power.

Currently, most of the rune bones in the Yangshan rune resource library are white, with a few green rune bones, while there are no gold rune bones at all.

Gold-quality rune bones are no longer something an ordinary mutant beast can produce.

The current embarrassment at the research department is that there’s no high-quality rune array to inscribe onto this sentry robot.

Liang Yuan pondered for a moment and said, “Regarding rune arrays, I’ll think of a way.”

“But how many sets of runes can this sentry robot be inscribed with?”

Li Hanzhong explained, “That depends on the number and structure of runes contained within the rune array.”

“The operational principle of the sentry robot is essentially a mobile array base.”

“According to the information provided by Yu Wentao, it’s equivalent to embedding all the rune arrays into the robot’s scale armor.”

“Facing different enemies, the robot immediately calls different array models to produce targeted tactics.”

“Of course, besides the arrays, this requires a highly intelligent recognition and judgment system for the sentry robot.”

“Luckily, AI systems before the apocalypse are quite mature; we can use AI for target recognition, allowing the sentry robot to automatically activate the corresponding array model to counteract opponents.”

“For example, if the opponent is a Fire Attribute Superpower User who summons flames, the sentry robot’s thermistor will detect the change in heat.”

“Then, it will automatically switch to a Water Attribute array, or Ice Attribute array, to perform a targeted attack.”

“Wouldn’t that mean the sentry robot can only counterattack once the opponent makes a move?” Liang Yuan asked with a frown.

Li Hanzhong laughed and said, “No, the sentry robot will be equipped with a conventional combat mode, a combination of defense arrays and strength arrays.”

“This mode ensures self-defense while launching power attacks.”

“Moreover, sentry robots have an advantage.”

“They don’t have a real brain structure, so they can’t be interfered with by Spirit Class Superpower Users.”

“Unless the opponent is a Telekinesis Superpower User, they are easily counteracted by the sentry robot.”

“In the future, Spirit Class Superpower Users must be careful when encountering sentry robots.”

After hearing this, Liang Yuan nodded with amazement and said, “Indeed, sentry robots might become the mainstream robots in future warfare.”

“When can mass production be carried out?” Liang Yuan inquired.

Li Hanzhong shook his head and said, “Sentry robots require a large amount of metal materials and a lot of superpower stones for support.”

“Currently, we are rich in superpower stone reserves, but metal materials are somewhat tight.”

“I’ve already issued tasks for treasure hunting teams or mercenary corps outside to salvage metal from the old world; results should be seen soon.”

Liang Yuan couldn’t help but ask, “Is the old world metal useful? Its defense ability is not much of a match for superpower users, right?”

Li Hanzhong chuckled and said, “You might not know, old world metals have undergone some mutation due to superpower energy corrosion.”

“Moreover, we don’t immediately use salvaged old metals directly; they require processing.”

“Processing?”

“Yes, we need to melt these metals and add mutant beast bone powder, superpower stone powder, and even some blood crystal powder for smelting and then mold casting.”

“The metals obtained like this have greater hardness and perform exceptionally well in superpower energy conduction.”

“Currently, these technologies are widely applied in Yangshan No. 2 spaceship, Yangshan fleet, submarines, and many other fields.”

Liang Yuan was taken aback, realizing that the research and development department he focused on cultivating has unknowingly made so many inventions!

He couldn’t help showing a face of satisfaction and said with a smile, “Well done.”

Li Hanzhong also chuckled, “Without your strong support, the R&D department would have found it hard to survive.”

“By the way, I have an important project that requires your personal approval.”

Liang Yuan, in surprise, finding Li Hanzhong being so serious, which was rare, immediately asked, “What project is it?”

“The Magicless Sentinel Project!”
