Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1421: Chapter 754: Handling Cloud Mist Island

The group quickly returned to Cloud Mist Island, where Feng Jiangong had already regained control over the island’s chaos.

Personnel have now been dispatched to clean up the battlefield.

Upon seeing Liang Yuan, Feng Jiangong swiftly approached.

He looked distressed and said, “Mr. Liang, Zhang Yujiang has escaped!”

Liang Yuan sighed and said, “I know.”

Feng Jiangong said, “Not only did he leave, but he also took most of the researchers, development data, material resources with him.”

“All that’s left are these lower-level soldiers and ordinary people. This bastard!”

At this, Feng Jiangong couldn’t help cursing, “I foolishly believed in him before, believing he was truly against war and wanted to save us from the apocalypse!”

“How unexpected that he turned out to be this kind of person!”

Liang Yuan shook his head slightly and said, “It’s no use talking about this now. Quickly send people around to search.”

“I’ll also have the spaceship check nearby.”

“He shouldn’t have left long ago, maybe we can still catch him.”

“Everything else is secondary; Cloud Mist Island’s Heart Core is still with him. We must retrieve it.”

Feng Jiangong nodded, “I’ve already sent people searching, but I’m not sure if we can find him.”

“I just asked a few officers, and they said they once heard researchers talk about studying an underwater ark. I’m worried Zhang Yujiang might have escaped underwater.”

Liang Yuan frowned, “An underwater ark…”

Did he really escape underwater?

In that case, finding this old thing would indeed be difficult.

“Do these people know where Zhang Yujiang might be heading?”

Feng Jiangong shook his head, “I asked, they don’t know. These people were likely disposable to Zhang Yujiang and probably didn’t have access to such information.”

Liang Yuan nodded and said, “Just keep searching, report back if we can’t find him.”

Feng Jiangong nodded in agreement, while Shi Haizhu also had the spaceship from Yangshan launched to search around Cloud Mist Island.

Meanwhile on Cloud Mist Island, Liang Yuan had already refined the Brain Core of Cloud Mist Island given to him by Feng Jiangong.

At this moment, the entire lifeform of Cloud Mist Island was within Liang Yuan’s perception.

With a little sensing, he roughly determined the remaining number of people on Cloud Mist Island.

“Approximately over two thousand people.”

Liang Yuan breathed a sigh of relief, over two thousand people is still a good population resource.

Not sure how many people were originally on Cloud Mist Island.

Thinking of this, Liang Yuan asked, “Feng Jiangong, can you find a way to compile the remaining personnel information here?”

“I want to know their numbers, everyone’s awakened superpowers, what their jobs were before the great flood, what military roles they hold after, and also their marital statuses, and children’s situations, etc.”

Feng Jiangong was slightly startled, then immediately nodded and said, “Alright, I will arrange for people to conduct an investigation.”

Liang Yuan nodded and asked again, “Have you checked the island’s other storage reserves? How much stored materials are left?”

Feng Jiangong shook his head, “Haven’t had a chance to check yet.”

Liang Yuan sighed and said, “I guess nothing is left.”

Upon hearing this, Feng Jiangong’s face changed, “You mean Zhang Yujiang took all the materials? No way, he might take the materials from the barracks, but could he have taken everything else too? Surely he left some for the remaining people?”

“Though some of these people are ordinary citizens who joined, many were old comrades from the military.”

Liang Yuan didn’t argue with him, only said, “Check and let me know after you’ve done so.”

Feng Jiangong immediately said, “Over at Cangqiong Mountain, we still have a warehouse from the old Eagle Base, which has always been reserved for refugees from Cangqiong Mountain. I’ll have someone go check it out now.”

Liang Yuan nodded, “Yes, go check it out.”

Feng Jiangong quickly summoned a person beside him to go check the situation at Cangqiong Mountain.

Following this, the reorganization of Cloud Mist Island was left entirely to Shi Haizhu, Ding Yan, and Cheng Zhanpeng.

The three of them were experienced and knew how to train these new recruits to Yangshan.

Following the old method, they rotated these people into unfamiliar areas, taught them for a month to smooth their tempers, then gradually integrated them into Yangshan.

However, the distance from here to Yangshan was quite far, making it inconvenient for people to travel.

But Ding Yan cleverly suggested, “How about we send these people to Yellow Earth Divine Origin and Miyuan Rainforest. Also, move some personnel from Cangqiong Mountain here.”

“Just like we did before, moving people from Meishan to Yangshan, and Yangshan’s people to Meishan.”

Liang Yuan immediately smiled, giving her a thumbs-up, “You all are becoming more and more like qualified leaders.”

Ding Yan slightly smirked, “Learned from you.”

“Hahaha.”

Liang Yuan laughed heartily.

Then he left everything here for them to handle.

Soon, Zhao Kai and Li Qinghua arrived upon hearing the news, quickly joining in the team integration.

“Mr. Liang, the weather is warming up rapidly now, soon the ice on the water surface might melt.”

Li Qinghua came to Liang Yuan’s side and looked at the vast water outside, saying.

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, “Indeed, the temperature has noticeably risen over the past few days.”

“Soon the ice surface may begin to melt, then the water level is likely to rise quickly.”

Li Qinghua worriedly said, “If the water level rises rapidly, I’m not sure whether Yangshan will be submerged.”

Liang Yuan sighed, “It’s hard to say, after so much snow melts into water, the water level will definitely rise sharply, we must prepare everyone for evacuation.”

Li Qinghua said, “We now control six Floating Islands, moving people won’t be a problem, it’s just that we haven’t fully extracted the mineral resources from Yangshan, Cangqiong Mountain, and Cangfu Mountain yet.”

Liang Yuan slightly shook his head, “We can’t excavate it all; the main issue is that the buoyancy of these Floating Islands is limited.”

“We can’t possibly move all the mountain’s mineral veins to the Floating Islands; otherwise, they might not be able to withstand it.”

The Superpower Stone Mine resources within several mountains are incredibly abundant; to excavate them all would almost mean hollowing out the entire mountain.

This is equivalent to placing a whole mountain onto the Floating Island, whether the island’s buoyancy can handle it is indeed a significant issue.

Liang Yuan quickly said, “If we eventually have to live on the Floating Island, we must constantly pay attention to buoyancy changes, the Floating Island’s draft depths.”

“If we notice any risk of the Floating Island sinking, we need to rapidly lighten its load.”

Li Qinghua nodded slightly upon hearing this; it indeed is a major issue that cannot be taken lightly.

The two continued chatting for a while, primarily with Li Qinghua inquiring about the situation on the Floating Island.

Liang Yuan shared what he observed in the sky.

Li Qinghua’s expression grew slightly grave, “Yu Province’s powers have already expanded to our Linjiang City?”

Liang Yuan nodded, “Yes, and looking at their base’s equipment, the level of development of their Superpower Technology is not low.”

Li Qinghua said, “Does that mean Ji’an City, and even further north where there’s a Floating Island, is very likely occupied by these people?”

Liang Yuan nodded, “It’s very likely.”

“Even if they haven’t taken it, other forces likely have.”

“The northern development of Superpower Technology is faster than ours here; don’t underestimate them.”

“Also, beware of Mutant Beasts; the ones above the Floating Islands are frighteningly strong.”

“Mutant Beasts of the Genetic Reorganization Level are everywhere.”

“There’s even been the advent of terrifying Mutant Beasts that can fly beyond the atmosphere!”

“What! Beyond the atmosphere? There’s no air there; how do they survive?” Li Qinghua was stunned.

Liang Yuan slightly shook his head, “I fear these Mutant Beasts have evolved to the point where they don’t need air.”

“This information was extracted from the people at Mengya Company.”

“I have yet to see any visual data.”

Li Qinghua took a deep breath, somewhat incredulous, “Able to fly beyond the atmosphere, that means these Mutant Beasts can survive in space?”

“What kind of power does that require? Is it the Genetic Reorganization Perfection?”

Liang Yuan sighed, “Unknown, at least I haven’t achieved that yet; I’ll ask Ling Yurong and the others.”

“These Ancient Superpower Users once explored the galaxy above; surely they can traverse the void and enter space.”

“She should know some inside information.”

Li Qinghua bitterly smiled, “I thought crossing into gene recombination, constantly advancing gene recombination progress, one day reaching Genetic Reorganization Perfection, would be the end of evolution.”

“Now it seems, evolution has a long road yet?”

Liang Yuan also smiled, “Isn’t it better to have a road ahead?”

“Without a road, it would truly be despairing; we might never uncover the source of this flood or from where the galaxy above originates.”

Li Qinghua was taken aback upon hearing this, he quickly nodded, “You’re right; in my lifetime, I definitely want to see where this flood leads!”

“Let’s do our best! As long as we keep cultivating, we’ll eventually evolve to traverse space!”

“If those Mutant Beasts can do it, why can’t we?”

As the two were talking, a figure rapidly flew over from the sky.

It was Shi Haizhu flying through the air; before he landed, he shouted, “Mr. Liang, in the northwest direction, our people have spotted Zhang Yujiang’s trace!”

Liang Yuan’s brow immediately furrowed as he asked, “Northwest? That’s Ji’an City direction?”

Shi Haizhu quickly answered, “Yes, Mr. Liang, judging by their route, they are indeed heading there.”

Li Qinghua couldn’t help but ask, “What are they doing going to Ji’an City?”

Liang Yuan asked, “Do they have a ship?”

Shi Haizhu nodded, “A giant ark capable of diving underwater and navigating above water.”

“Mr. Liang, should we pursue them?”

Liang Yuan immediately said, “Let’s go; this person has the Heart Core of Cloud Mist Island; we must not let him escape!”

“I’ll call for reinforcements!”

Liang Yuan stopped Shi Haizhu, “No need, capture the leader first; our goal is not to destroy the whole ark but to capture Zhang Yujiang!”

“I’ll take Ling Yurong and Feng Jiangong with me; you stay here and continue handling the matters here.”

Shi Haizhu heard and said, “I’ll go notify those two.”

Liang Yuan nodded.

Soon after, Ling Yurong and Feng Jiangong hurriedly arrived.

Upon seeing Liang Yuan, Feng Jiangong immediately asked, “Mr. Liang, did you find that scoundrel?”

Liang Yuan nodded, “Follow me!”

He signaled and immediately boarded the spaceship prepared beside him.

Feng Jiangong and Ling Yurong quickly followed.

The spaceship ascended, swiftly heading northwest.

In less than ten minutes, the spaceship began to decelerate.

Liang Yuan looked down at the vast icy layer below and asked, “Have we arrived?”

“Mr. Liang, it’s in this vicinity; the radar has detected a large underwater object moving, which should be the enemy’s submersible.”

Liang Yuan immediately said, “Blow open the ice! Drag them out!”

“Understood!”
