Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1412: Chapter 745: Five Floating Islands

Thanks to Yu Province’s higher terrain, although the flood came fiercely, it couldn’t accumulate into a disaster; most of the floodwaters flowed to lower places.

Yet even so, the water level in Yu Province rose to the height of the tenth floor.

Under such circumstances, although the flood disaster was severe, many people still survived.

However, order had collapsed, and many people began to loot and kill for food.

Just like Linjiang City back then.

But because Yu Province had many high mountains, smart people immediately moved to high grounds and established shelters.

Gradually more people began to salvage useful equipment, and subsequently, the discovery of the Superpower Stone and the appearance of the Rune Bone continuously pushed the advancement of human Superpower Technology.

With more survivors and talents in Yu Province, they quickly researched numerous products combining Superpower Technology.

This led to the rapid development of Yu Province’s powers, with various Rune Technology items continually emerging, and the overall development speed far surpassed those disaster-stricken areas like Jiangnan Province.

Liang Yuan listened to Zhou Haoran detailing the approximate scale of the three factions, and his expression gradually became serious.

“These three factions not only occupy all the resources on Yu Province’s waters but have now begun marching towards the Floating Islands in the sky.”

“Each is crazily developing ships, rapidly exploring outward, trying to dominate more Floating Islands.”

Zhou Haoran said, “Some say that occupying all the Floating Islands in the sky can even form a floating continent.”

“By that time, even if the land is completely submerged by the flood, we humans can still survive and reproduce on these floating continents.”

“The more crucial point is, the Floating Islands, like Floating Islands, have clear sovereignty.”

“Whoever refines the Heart Core and Brain Core of a Floating Island becomes the owner of this island.”

“Unless the Island Lord is killed, then the Floating Island will become ownerless.”

“Currently, the three major forces are quickly seizing opportunities—not necessarily building a strong base on each Floating Island, but definitely refining the Heart Core and Brain Core of the Floating Island first.”

“After bringing them back, handing them over to the company’s executives can earn great rewards.”

Liang Yuan raised his eyebrows, “You mean, after refining the Brain Core of this island, you don’t plan to keep it yourself but want to bring it back to Mengya Company’s headquarters to hand it over to your executives?”

Zhou Haoran smiled bitterly, “Keep it? How could I keep it? My power is just at this level. Acting as the company’s advance team leader is fine, but trying to guard a Floating Island—that’s impossible.”

“Only the chairman of our company can hold the Floating Island already seized.”

“According to the company’s philosophy, the board of directors will control all occupied Floating Islands, and in the future will promote the formation of floating continents.”

“If I can submit a set of Heart Core and Brain Core of a Floating Island, I’ll have the opportunity to advance to the company’s senior management.”

Liang Yuan was amazed at the ambition of these three factions in Yu Province.

They even want to unite all the Floating Islands to build a floating continent.

Liang Yuan curiously asked, “According to what you say, the flood over there in Yu Province hasn’t completely submerged the buildings yet. Quite a few people are still alive, so what about the government? The army? Is there no one controlling the situation?”

Zhou Haoran, upon hearing this, said, “Initially, there were indeed official personnel to organize rescue efforts.”

“However, as the rain worsened and the flood became more severe, some street officials and management personnel started to loot resources first.”

“They externally claimed they were stockpiling resources for unified distribution, but secretly, some confiscated resources for personal enjoyment.”

“Initially, although people were dissatisfied, they had something to eat, so no one dared to resist.”

“But with the appearance of Superpower Users and those officials becoming increasingly outrageous, these issues became a catalyst.”

“Ambitious, audacious Superpower Users directly led assaults into official places, killing and looting resources.”

“Later, with the emergence of various Superpower Users and the appearance of Mutant Beasts, these things became common.”

“The authorities were powerless to stop it, and Yu Province fell into a state of anarchy.”

“Only the powerful Superpower Users relied on their formidable strength to rally people and establish shelters.”

“There were many such shelters initially, but with time, shelters continually engaged in battles and mergers, and the remaining ones became increasingly powerful.”

“Nowadays, the strongest in Yu Province are the above-mentioned three.”

Zhou Haoran thoroughly explained the situation in Yu Province.

Liang Yuan slightly nodded, this development model was pretty much as he anticipated.

Because this side of Linjiang City was also more or less the same.

He himself also grew step by step within the buildings, continually strengthening, and eventually reached today’s scale in Yangshan.

But compared to Yu Province’s three factions, his development was still too slow.

While they have occupied all of Yu Province, he was still stuck in Linjiang City.

Not necessarily; he had already taken over the nearby Baoshan City.

“It’s still because the level of Superpower Technology is too backward.”

Liang Yuan felt emotional because what’s limiting how far he can conquer isn’t his strength, but actually the transport vehicles.

If I have advanced superpower ships, I could traverse above the floodwaters, making the conquest of Linjiang, Ji’an, and other places much more convenient.

In fact, with Yangshan’s current technological level, such high-tech ships can indeed be developed.

But now, it’s too late for research. The surface is frozen; the ships simply can’t get out.

If it were when the great flood was rampant, having such high-tech ships at the time could have swiftly gathered refugees from the surrounding cities, strengthening the shelter.

Of course, another relatively important condition has also restricted Yangshan’s development.

That is territory!

Unlike Yu Province, Linjiang here doesn’t have as many mountains, the flood submerged almost all buildings.

So even if I have high-tech ships and gather a lot of refugees in shelters from surrounding cities, there would be no place to house them.

In short, conditions vary from place to place and can’t be compared laterally.

“But now it’s different. If we can conquer more floating islands, Yangshan’s territory will only continue to expand.”

“Now Yangshan’s scientific research level is also continually improving, so territory and transportation are no longer a problem.”

“Plus, the number of experts in Yangshan is also increasing, so it’s possible to consider rapid expansion to occupy more floating islands.”

“Otherwise, according to the development situation of the three forces in Yu Province, the floating islands in the airspace of Jiangnan Province will probably all be snatched up by them.”

Liang Yuan’s thoughts flashed, then he looked at Zhou Haoran and said, “Tell me about the nearby floating islands you know, and which floating islands are still not occupied? Which floating islands have been occupied? Which side occupies them?”

Zhou Haoran dared not hide anything. Under the influence of the Soul Imprisonment Rune, he obediently followed Liang Yuan’s words.

He immediately detailed the floating islands over Linjiang City.

“There are five floating islands in Linjiang City’s airspace. The smallest is Snake Shell Island, which is covered with giant pythons, and its shape resembles a coiled giant python, also like a sea shell.”

“Currently, this is the only floating island that no one wants to occupy.”

Liang Yuan immediately recalled the island they first saw after entering the sky.

It turns out that floating island was called Snake Shell Island, quite true to its name.

“Why is no one occupying this island?”

Zhou Haoran said, “The shape of this island is unsuitable, with a steep surface, not suitable for habitation, plus too many highly poisonous serpent mutant beasts, with low development value.”

“Additionally, the heart core and brain core on this island have been refined by the mutant giant pythons on the island, so no one has bothered to occupy this island.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, which was quite in line with his judgment.

“You just said there are five, besides our Flying Manta Island and Snake Shell Island, what about the other three?”

“The other three are called Divine Tree Island, Hell Island, and Ten Thousand Beasts Island.”

“Among them, Hell Island is in the northwest, about a hundred kilometers from here.”

“Ten Thousand Beasts Island is to the south, less than two hundred kilometers away.”

“Divine Tree Island is nearby, less than thirty kilometers away.”

“Hell Island is currently occupied by Kerry Technology Company, while Divine Tree Island and Ten Thousand Beasts Island currently have no owner.”

“No owner? What do you mean? Has no one occupied them?”

Zhou Haoran said, “The heart core and brain core of these two islands have been refined. We have sent people in secretly, but couldn’t find the heart core and brain core on the island, they should have been refined by the island’s creatures.”

“With too many mutant beasts on the island, it’s quite difficult to pinpoint exactly which mutant beast devoured the heart core and brain core.”

“And even if found, it’s still very hard to extract the brain core and heart core from the mutant beast’s body. At most, you can only kill them.”

“Currently, Kerry Technology Company has established a base on Divine Tree Island, planning to slowly develop this island. However, since they also haven’t acquired Divine Tree Island’s heart core and brain core, the island can’t be really considered theirs yet.”

“If you have the intention, you can completely take it over.”

“And Ten Thousand Beasts Island is the largest floating island among the five, with powerful mutant beasts all over, even a lot of Genetic Reorganization Level mutant beasts.”

“Some mutant beasts even have gene recombination progresses exceeding fifty percent, our ships dare not approach, so no one dares to develop that island.”

Liang Yuan slightly nodded, then asked, “What about Hell Island?”

“Hell Island’s heart core and brain core are in the hands of Kerry Technology Company. It’s a fire attribute island, with terrifying volcanoes and magma all over, not suitable for living or habitation.”

“However, the island contains a lot of superpower stones and blood crystals, with rich resources, Kerry Technology has already built a base and stationed “Insect Source Great Saint” Wang Tian’an personally.”

“Insect Source Great Saint?” Liang Yuan showed a look of confusion.

Zhou Haoran explained, “Wang Tian’an is a Genetic Reorganization Level expert, with a gene recombination progress already as high as forty percent, within Kerry Technology Company, he’s also a department manager-level executive.”

“He is responsible for all Kerry Technology’s floating island development in Jiangnan Province.”

“Even the base on Divine Tree Island was planned and constructed single-handedly by him.”

“This person is also our Mengya Company’s biggest competitor here.”
