Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 1115: Chapter 460: Investigating the Pathogen, Treatment Plan

The downpour was heavy, and the weather was cold, probably around three or four degrees.

In this weather, although it’s not enough to freeze the water surface, the temperature in the water still feels chilling to ordinary people.

But for the Water Attribute Superpower Users of Yangshan, this is nothing.

The constitution of Superpower Users can withstand even low temperatures.

Not to mention the Water Attribute Superpower Users.

Soon, people started floating up to the surface one after another.

Kong Sheng manipulated a stream of water, capturing all the fish controlled within and collecting them into a bamboo basket.

Due to the need to prevent virus infection, no one dared to touch them with their hands.

Subsequently, Wang Xiaoya, Qi Delong, Li Xiaojun, and other Water Attribute Superpower Users resurfaced.

They each brought back various types of small fish.

”Mr. Liang, there are a lot of small fish at the bottom, we caught as many as we could, have a look.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, his whole body enveloped by the Spirit Turtle Shield, observing the small mutant fish inside the bamboo house.

Visually, there seemed to be no issues with these fish.

Not only did they look fine, but their life force was very strong, extremely active.

There was no apparent feeling of sick fish.

Among those present, no one was knowledgeable in the field of medicine.

Liang Yuan looked at Zhao Kai and said solemnly, ”Zhao Kai, pick out different species of fish, three of each, freeze them, and send them to Dr. Yang for examination.”

”Remember, do not touch them directly.”

”Okay, I’ll go right now.”

Zhao Kai nodded immediately, went forward, quickly selected the fish, and then froze and transported them away.

Following this, there was a tense atmosphere across Yangshan, with everyone feeling uneasy.

Everyone self-isolated at home, yet some began to get infected.

The construction department worked overtime to build makeshift quarantine cabins.

The next day, Liang Yuan came to the medical department to find Yang Shenmin to inquire about the situation, only to receive bad news.

”I don’t have enough equipment to detect the pathogen.”

Yang Shenmin sighed.

Liang Yuan asked hurriedly, ”What equipment do you need? I’ll find a way to get it.”

”We need lots of specialized equipment, medical microscopes, petri dishes, and so on, which we don’t have here.”

”Moreover, I’m a Chinese medicine doctor, medical examination is not my specialty. Even with this equipment, I may not be able to analyze it.”

Liang Yuan frowned deeply, suddenly realizing that the medical conditions in Yangshan were still too inadequate.

The medical department relying solely on Yang Shenmin was too difficult to sustain.

It seems that next time I go out, I must bring back some professionals like doctors.

”However, I’ve already thought of a way to treat this virus.”

Liang Yuan was immediately pleased and asked eagerly, ”What way?”

”According to my observation, this virus is likely a mutated virus, which is why its outbreak trend is so rapid.”

”I don’t know how superpower viruses differ from ordinary viruses, but one thing is certain, they must also rely on superpower energy to operate and sustain themselves.”

”My plan is, we can set up a Sealing Array in the quarantine cabin and then send all the patients into it.”

”In this way, the mutated virus will likely be suppressed. Although it can’t be killed, it can certainly inhibit the virus from continuing to proliferate.”

”By inhibiting these viruses, we can preserve the patients’ lives, giving us time to find a way to solve these viruses.”

Hearing this, Liang Yuan’s eyes also lit up and he said, ”That’s a good plan, I’ll immediately get the R&D department to go to the cabin and set up the Sealing Array.”

With that, Liang Yuan hurriedly arranged for personnel to set up the array.

Now, the R&D department has expanded in scale, with many Spirit Ability Users being recruited into the R&D department.

The main attribute of these superpower users is their spiritual power, but their awakened superpowers are not combat types, but auxiliary types.

Some are similar to Old Yang’s ’Imitation’, some are like Li Yuejin’s ’Stamping’, and there are also those like Li Hanzhong’s ’Super Brain’.

This type of person might not have strong combat power, but they excel in learning knowledge and making runes.

Liang Yuan had already been gathering such talents from early on, and now besides Li Hanzhong and a few of his capable deputies, the R&D department’s members have developed to more than ten people.

Upon receiving Liang Yuan’s order, Li Hanzhong led these people quickly to the cabin to start setting up the Sealing Array.

Liang Yuan himself also personally joined in.

His spiritual power was strong, allowing him to set up the Sealing Array quickly and perfectly.

It can be said that the entire R&D department’s speed in setting up sealing runes was not as fast as Liang Yuan’s alone.

In less than an hour, the Sealing Array was successfully established.

The entire cabin was immediately enveloped by the array, and superpower energy could not flow within the Sealing Array.

Soon, patients infected with the virus were transferred inside one after another.

Yang Shenmin followed and began observing the patients’ conditions after entering.

Another day passed, and those who were originally infected with the virus miraculously became mentally active.

Some severely infected individuals also showed signs of recovery.

At that moment, Yang Shenmin and Liang Yuan both breathed a sigh of relief.

Yang Shenmin said, ”It seems it really is a mutated virus.”

Liang Yuan frowned, ”Strange, how come there wasn’t such a virus before, did it appear suddenly?”

Yang Shenmin shook his head slightly, ”With the great flood, water currents surged, different species from various places started moving freely, maybe it’s brought by foreign species.”

Liang Yuan asked, ”Now, our primary task is to find a way to identify what virus it is and which type of fish carries it.”

Yang Shenmin nodded, ”Indeed, finding the pathogen is necessary for us to formulate an effective countermeasure.”

Liang Yuan thought for a moment, then asked, ”Do you know any experts in this field?”

Yang Shenmin pondered for a while and said, ”Jiang Ziyin from Linjiang First Affiliated Hospital is a virus expert from our hospital. She returned from abroad last year and was hired by our hospital leadership with a high salary.”

”The hospital not only provided her with a professional team but also allocated a specialized laboratory and registration window for her.”

”If she’s around, there should be a way.”

Liang Yuan was immediately stirred and quickly asked, ”Where is she?”

Yang Shenmin replied, ”In the urban area. I have her home address, but so long after the great flood, I’m not sure if she’s still living there.”

Liang Yuan said firmly, ”No matter what, we need to find her.”

”Describe her appearance and basic situation to me.”

Yang Shenmin nodded and said, ”Dr. Jiang’s appearance is very easy to identify. She’s a mixed-race with half-white blood. She’s very good-looking; once you see her, you’ll know.”

”A mixed-race? That should be easy to find.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly. Mixed-race individuals are not common in the country, so he should be able to inquire and find out.

”Where does she live?”

”Xinghai Garden Villa District.”

Liang Yuan raised his eyebrows instantly, ”A villa in the city center?”

Yang Shenmin nodded and said, ”Her family conditions should be very good; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been studying abroad until she got her PhD before returning.”

”Ordinary families cannot afford foreign tuition.”

Liang Yuan nodded and said, ”Get a map later and mark some signs for me to make it easier to find.”

Yang Shenmin nodded then continued, ”You need to go quickly and come back quickly. Although the Sealing Array can suppress the virus, the virus is not dead; it’s just deposited in the human body.”

”Once you leave the Sealing Array, they will still erupt.”

Liang Yuan nodded, ”Okay, I’ll hurry back.”

”Also, tell everyone not to eat fish for now and try to eat red meat,” Yang Shenmin added.

”Hmm, I’ve already arranged that.”

Yang Shenmin hesitated for a moment, then asked, ”Do we have enough supplies?”

Upon hearing this, Liang Yuan smiled, ”Don’t worry; it’s not a problem.”

If it were another shelter encountering a situation where they can’t eat fish, there would probably be panic.

But for Liang Yuan, he can redeem a lot of supplies from the system.

He’s not worried about food.

The situation is urgent; Liang Yuan quickly mobilized personnel, both to enhance the internal defense facilities of Yangshan.

On the other hand, he quickly arranged people to begin defense in the surrounding waters.

Finally, he found Zhao Kai.

”Brother Liang, are you looking for me?”

”Is your main attribute at 50 points?” Liang Yuan asked.

Zhao Kai nodded, ”I just broke through to 50 points yesterday, but because of the infectious disease issue, I haven’t had time to mention it.”

Liang Yuan smiled, ”Very good. I’m about to leave Yangshan for a while to find a virus expert.”

”Brother Liang, do you know where there is an expert?” Zhao Kai asked with joy.

”Hmm, I learned about someone from Dr. Yang that might help us with the current situation.”

”But before leaving Yangshan, I need you to become a Genetic Species level expert to leave with peace of mind.”

Zhao Kai was stunned and asked, ”Brother Liang, are you worried about the safety of Yangshan?”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly, ”I always find this virus strange, but there isn’t much time to investigate now.”

”In short, once you break through to Genetic Species, having a Genetic Species expert stationed in Yangshan will put my mind at ease leaving.”

”Moreover, after breaking through to Genetic Species, you can continue to refine Blood Ice to enhance your strength.”

”Others haven’t reached 50 points yet, so they can’t form a Genetic Species. After I leave, Yangshan will rely on you.”

Zhao Kai couldn’t help but ask, ”Brother Liang, when will you be back?”

”Quickly, in a day or two; slowly, at most a week. I won’t stay out too long.”

Zhao Kai breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, ”A week shouldn’t be much of a problem. Even if the enemies are strong, I believe with so many of us, we can hold out for a week.”

”Don’t be complacent. Come with me, first let’s break through to Genetic Species.”

”Okay!”

Liang Yuan brought Zhao Kai to the depths of Yangshan to personally protect and aid him.

Zhao Kai naturally trusted Liang Yuan very much, so with Liang Yuan personally stationed nearby, he had no distractions.

Instantly, he took out an Ice Attribute Genetic Species and swallowed it directly.

Over the past month, the research department has refined twelve Ice Attribute Genetic Species.

All of them are now in Liang Yuan’s possession.

”It’s starting!”

Liang Yuan’s eyes focused, noticing Zhao Kai’s body starting to exude large amounts of ice mist.

Meanwhile, his entire body was enveloped in ice mist.

Waves of cold air frantically emitted.

The frost on the ground quickly spread in all directions, rapidly forming chunks of ice.

The water pits on the ground and the raindrops in the sky also turned into ice the moment they touched the cold air.

Liang Yuan could feel that this cold air had exceeded the extreme temperature Zhao Kai usually released.

This indicates that Zhao Kai’s strength is rapidly increasing!

”I wonder what kind of Genetic Map Zhao Kai will awaken.”

Liang Yuan’s eyes showed expectation as he watched this scene.
