Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 948: Chapter 355: Capturing Elder Lin (Part 3)

The man nodded slightly upon hearing this, immediately blending into a group of gamblers and quickly dashed towards the shelter.

Yangshan Shelter, Sunshine District.

Nowadays, the Sunshine District has become a favorite gathering place for many in the shelter.

Fifty mutated sunflowers have been dispersed and transplanted everywhere.

The new generation of mutated sunflowers, cultivated by Song Wen and Granny Li, has also thrived, blooming into small sunflowers, releasing a halo of sunlight.

The entire Sunshine District has long been expanded, from the cave outward, into a massive shantytown.

Even the square in front of the Yangshan Complex has been turned into a makeshift area, with mutated sunflowers planted inside.

The entire Sunshine District has been divided into many functional zones.

From the square area, to the drying area, the planting area, to the laboratory, and so on.

Most people chat and bask in the sun in the square area, and over in the drying area, it’s no longer just clothes and bedding being dried.

A group of people specifically come to dry vegetables, meat, fish, and the like.

Near the drying area, there’s a row of compact rooms, where people occasionally enter and exit carrying large sacks, sweating profusely.

Liang Yuan stood in the square, watching these scenes, and asked Dong Yan, ”What are those rooms for?”

Dong Yan took a glance and said, ”Oh, that, that’s the salt drying house, an area that Sister Yang Mei specifically planned, it’s not free.”

”Salt drying house?” Liang Yuan exclaimed in surprise.

Dong Yan wanted to say more, but Zhuang Shuyuan took over the conversation.

”Now people in the shelter have learned how to make salt from floodwaters. They transport the floodwaters here, and then use the strong light in the drying area to evaporate the water vapor, producing coarse salt. Afterward, they take it back, filter and process it, and make fine salt for sale.”

”Although the quality is not as good as the salt from our complex, Dr. Yang and the others have assessed it as edible.”

”Now quite a few people have learned salt drying, and the bagged salt from our complex is not selling well.”

Dong Yan couldn’t help but interrupt Zhuang Shuyuan, ”Brother Liang asked me, not you.”

Zhuang Shuyuan smiled and didn’t bother to argue with her.

Instead, she said to Liang Yuan, ”I think this salt drying is a very important source of income and shouldn’t be privately held below, it should be managed by the shelter.”

Liang Yuan smiled, shook his head slightly, and said, ”Salt is a necessary resource for humans, let’s not make an issue out of it.”

”For us, collecting a venue fee is enough, what’s truly valuable is the sunlight.”

Liang Yuan knew in his heart that to improve the happiness index of the shelter, no difficulty should be set for acquiring necessary resources.

Only when everyone’s happiness index is raised will they appreciate spiritual enjoyment, allowing the entertainment venues on the fourth floor of the shopping center to operate.

Rather than being desolate as it is now, with no one willing to spend points to consume.

Furthermore, the goods in the shopping center can’t be endlessly provided for everyone, wouldn’t it be better if they could produce it themselves?

”However, a unified purchase price can be set to prevent anyone from manipulating the salt price.”

Liang Yuan thought, his shopping center could be used to regulate the shelter’s prices on a macro level.

As he was pondering, in the distance, Yang Wei had already captured Zhou Lan, Zhang Youquan, and others.

As they captured these people, it also drew a lot of attention and discussion from people along the way.

Residents from the nearby square also gathered around.

At this moment, patrol officers naturally began maintaining order, isolating the crowd.

Upon arriving, Yang Wei quickly reported to Liang Yuan.

”Mr. Liang, as per your request, most of the people on the list have been captured. Captain Wu has personally gone to the mining area to apprehend Lin Songyang.”

Liang Yuan nodded slightly and asked, ”Have the management from various areas arrived?”

”All have been notified and should be arriving shortly.”

Just as he finished speaking, Shi Haizhu, Huang Han, Granny Li, Song Wen, and Yang Mei arrived one after another.

The onlookers at the shelter suddenly began talking and exclaiming in surprise.

”What’s going on?”

”What happened?”

”Isn’t that Zhang Youquan, the logistics manager at the slaughterhouse? Why is he being arrested?”

”I don’t know, isn’t that woman Zhou Lan from the plantation? Oh my, what’s going on here?”

”Why are all these people being arrested?”

”Look, Miss Yang Mei, Captain Shi, Captain Huang, they’ve all come.”

”Big things are about to happen.”
