Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 737: Chapter 289: The Shock Brought by Yangshan Shelter_4

Zhang Rongrong kept chewing, and as she continued to eat, her eyes suddenly turned red, and tears began to flow uncontrollably.

Yang Wei was devouring his food ravenously, finishing a baozi in just a few bites.

He licked the leftover dough from his fingertips, savoring the taste.

”Delicious, so delicious, I almost forgot what baozi tasted like...”

Li Xiangyang couldn’t hold back either, ignoring any polite remarks, he instinctively took a bite of the white flour baozi.

His baozi was filled with fish meat, ground into a paste, mixed with lard, and seasoned with spices, exuding a delightful aroma.

Back when Li Xiangyang was in Meishan, he had grown tired of mutant fish, never imagining that baozi made from mutant fish could be so delicious that it rendered him speechless!

Yang Youwei held his baozi, and after just one bite, he couldn’t help but start chewing voraciously.

Old Yang, beside him, kept exhaling with visible pleasure, eating and exclaiming, ”Oh my, this baozi is really delicious! I missed this flavor so much.”

”Hey, Youwei, Xiangyang, isn’t the baozi tasty? It costs 1 point per baozi, not cheap, but they use quality ingredients.”

”How long has it been since you had baozi? Delicious, right?”

Li Xiangyang finished his baozi and couldn’t help but burp, having choked a bit on his food.

He quickly took out his water cup from his bag and gulped down a few sips.

Finally, he remarked, ”Delicious, truly delicious. After the Great Flood, I haven’t had baozi at all.”

Yang Wei couldn’t help but respond, ”That’s right, Brother Xiangyang, forget baozi, I haven’t had any flour-based food in almost half a year.”

”During our days at the academy, we ate rice porridge and sweet potatoes back and forth, I’ve been sick of it for a long time.”

Zhang Rongrong also nodded continuously. Before the Great Flood, her family conditions were quite good. After the flood, she endured plenty of hardships, but this baozi instantly evoked her longing for the countless delicious foods of the past and her memories.

The reason she cried while eating just now wasn’t entirely due to the food being so delicious but because it reminded her of the beautiful life she used to have.

Seeing their reactions, Old Yang laughed heartily and said, ”Don’t rush, there’s plenty of food here, you see over there, that’s the canteen of the food district.”

”As long as you have enough points, you can go in and order dishes, you can even choose prepared ones if you find it bothersome.”

Old Yang led them to the canteen; its window was just like the school canteens they used to know before the Great Flood.

Each window was fitted with wooden counters, above which large pots were neatly arranged, containing a variety of dishes.

Braised pork belly, braised ribs, braised fish, twice-cooked pork...

Familiar dishes appeared before them, causing even the usually composed Yang Youwei to swallow hard.

These dishes were once common before the Great Flood, some people wouldn’t even touch these meat dishes due to diabetes or dieting.

However, in the past six months, they’ve hardly had any meat, not even rice, and now seeing these oily, fragrant dishes made their mouths water uncontrollably.

Old Yang smacked his lips and said, ”Old Yu, give me a slice of braised pork belly, and also this braised meat, twice-cooked pork, and that, that stir-fried pork liver, some vegetables too, yes, green ones, what’s this vegetable?”

”Oh oh, a new dish? Mutant vegetables? Come on, give me some.”

Old Yang chatted familiarly with the person at the canteen window.

Back at the Shelter, he hardly ever cooked for himself.

He always ate at the canteen, getting acquainted with everyone there.

The old man inside the window, named Old Yu, laughed as he served the food, habitually shaking the ladle, making Old Yang roll his eyes.

”Good one, Old Yu, shaking the ladle even when serving my food?”

Old Yu chuckled, saying, ”Habit, habit, you know, these dishes aren’t cheap. Are all these people your friends?”

Old Yang laughed and pulled Yang Youwei over, saying, ”Do you know who this is? Yang Mei’s father!”

Old Yu was immediately shocked: ”Miss Yang Mei’s father? Oh my, hello, hello.”

Old Yu quickly wiped his hands and extended them through the window to shake hands with Yang Youwei.

Yang Youwei immediately reached out and shook his hand.

Then he saw Old Yu pick up the ladle again, scooping another portion of twice-cooked pork into the bamboo bowl, saying, ”Have more, let us know if you need more.”

He shouted to the other window staff, ”Fill it up for the old gentleman, this is Miss Yang Mei’s father.”

Everyone there became enthusiastic upon hearing this.

Next, whenever Yang Youwei collected food, the staff would give him extra portions.

Old Yang chuckled, saying, ”These guys do have some sense.”

Yang Youwei kept saying, ”Enough, enough, oh my, too much, can’t finish it, can’t finish.”

He quickly picked up his plate and said to Old Yang, ”Old Lin, isn’t this bad? You just said back at the baozi shop that such actions aren’t good.”

Old Yang laughed, ”You don’t get it, the baozi shop is private, we can’t bully them, or Mr. Liang would definitely be unhappy with your son-in-law.”

”But this canteen is run by your son-in-law, you being his father-in-law, eating an extra bite is no issue.”

Yang Youwei was speechless.

Because of Yang Youwei’s status, Yang Wei, Li Xiangyang, and the others who came with him were also treated generously.

Their plates were loaded with sumptuous dishes.
