Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 716: Chapter 286: Meishan’s Resources, Father-in-law’s Appreciation

”Huh? You dug them all up? They can’t be left in the field, or they’ll be eaten by those mutant beasts from the mountains.”

The middle-aged woman was startled by Liang Yuan’s seriousness and quickly responded.

Liang Yuan asked, ”Did you save any seeds?”

The middle-aged woman nodded hastily, ”Of course we did, without seeds for the next year, we wouldn’t have anything to eat.”

Someone nearby chimed in, ”Yes, we know how important it is. We’re all farmers here, of course we save the seeds.”

”We’ve saved seeds for rice, wheat, sweet potatoes, beans, and peanuts.”

Everyone was talking one after another. When it comes to farming, these people from Meishan Village are the true experts.

After all, they have been farming there all their lives.

Listening to them, Liang Yuan couldn’t help but smile.

He looked at these ordinary people with shining eyes.

Suddenly, Liang Yuan felt that the greatest gain from this trip to Meishan might not be the superpower weapon ruler or the Mutated Fruit Lantern Persimmon.

Instead, it might be these ordinary farmers and the seeds of mutated crops they had preserved!

His eyes lit up as he had new ideas for the planning of Meishan.

”Perhaps Meishan is better suited for farming and livestock.”

”This place is more suitable as a logistics base, with already cultivated fields on the mountain that can be put back to use with just a little care.”

”Plus, there’s the Spirit Attribute Superpower Stone, and we don’t know how much Spirit Attribute Superpower Stone mine there is. It will require a lot of manpower to excavate.”

Liang Yuan genuinely felt that Meishan’s environment was much better than Yangshan’s.

”Little brother, come and have some porridge.”

Yang Mei interrupted Liang Yuan’s thoughts.

Liang Yuan took the porridge she handed him and took a sip, noticing that the porridge tasted slightly different from pre-apocalyptic times, with a hint of sweetness.

As he swallowed the porridge, he felt a trace of superpower energy dissolve in his stomach.

Surprised, he quickly understood that this rice probably wasn’t old rice from before the great flood, but rather rice harvested after the flood.

Liang Yuan quickly asked, ”Is this year’s rice?”

Yang Mei was slightly stunned by the question and turned to shout to a nearby elderly woman, ”Granny Caihua, is this year’s rice?”

The elderly woman, Yang Caihua, looked up and smiled, ”Yes, it was harvested just a few months ago from the paddy field. We didn’t get much, but I milled some to mix with the old rice, and it tastes great.”

”Yang Mei, if Mr. Liang likes it, take some back with you.” she said with a beaming smile.

Yang Mei smiled quickly, ”It tastes great, Liang Yuan loves it, he specifically asked me.”

Liang Yuan also smiled, becoming more and more satisfied with the environment here.

After breakfast, Liang Yuan noticed the damp firewood in their stove lit easily.

His eyes flashed as he observed the process.

He saw someone sprinkling red powder on the wood before lighting it.

The red powder was scraped from a red stone.

Liang Yuan quickly recognized it as a Fire Attribute Superpower Stone!

He expressed his surprise and immediately asked Granny Caihua, ”Granny, where did you get those stones?”

Yang Caihua glanced at the stones and said, ”You mean the fire stones? We found them on the back mountain. There’s a large wild persimmon grove up there. We found some while picking persimmons and chestnuts.”

”Sometimes you can find those fire stones in the cracks between rocks.”

”Xiangyang and the others said these fire stones ignite easily and aren’t affected by the rain. Without these fire stones, it would be hard for us to cook.”

”With the constant rain, the firewood is all wet and won’t light.”

Liang Yuan’s eyes gleamed. Superpower stones that can be picked up easily?

That means there must be a superpower stone mine!

Liang Yuan quickly asked, ”Granny Caihua, where’s that persimmon grove?”

”On the back mountain, not far from the academy. Follow the trail for about two kilometers, then leave the trail and head towards Rooster Pavilion, you’ll find the persimmon grove.”

”By the way, Old Cripple and the others are going to pick persimmons later, you can join them if you’re interested.”

It’s currently around November, and the weather is cooling down, which means persimmons are ripening.

These ordinary people either go fishing or collect wild fruits in the mountains.

Wild persimmons, though small with big seeds, are incredibly sweet.

Liang Yuan agreed immediately, planning to go with them after breakfast.

Rooster Pavilion was a small scenic spot on the east side of Meishan.

Before the apocalyptic flood, it was a popular spot for watching the sunrise.

But now, with six months of continuous rain, the sun never showed, reducing Rooster Pavilion to just an ordinary pavilion.

After breakfast, Liang Yuan took Yang Mei with him and followed the group heading to Rooster Pavilion.

The group was led by an elderly man with a slight limp, known to everyone as Old Cripple.

Old Cripple was over fifty, having been crippled in the right leg since childhood.

Despite his handicap, he managed to escape to the mountains during the great flood, a feat many able-bodied people couldn’t achieve.
