Apocalyptic Flood: Sexy Beauty Neighbor's Midnight Plea for Food

Chapter 726: Chapter 287: Rebuking Li Xiangyang, Yearning for Yangshan_5

Yang Youwei took a deep breath and said, ”I’ll go take a look.”

He wanted to see if the woman inside might be his missing wife.

Although Li Kuirong said his wife was killed and thrown into the corpse pit behind Yunquan Temple, he still subconsciously wanted to check under this shed.

Li Xiangyang also thought of Yang Weiwei, the childhood sweetheart who had been writing a diary, documenting her longing for him.

He immediately said, ”I’ll take a look too.”

The two ran into the shed one after the other and saw the giant skeletons soaking in the cellar, but they could no longer make out the original features.

Since the bodies were naked, no distinguishing features could be seen.

Both of them fell silent, and Yang Youwei suddenly thought of something and started rummaging through the shed.

Li Xiangyang also immediately realized that if these victims died here, their belongings might be in the shed, potentially offering some identification.

The two searched around and found some women’s clothing, shoes, and socks in the wardrobe.

However, none of these items were familiar to either of them, and it was impossible to determine who they belonged to.

They both breathed a sigh of relief, but Yang Youwei’s face suddenly darkened, and he cursed.

”This is Li Kuirong’s land, isn’t it? Those animals must have been committing crimes here from the start.”

Li Xiangyang shook his head slightly and said, ”I don’t think so. The level of decay in these corpses isn’t that high. They don’t look like they’re from half a year ago, but more recent.”

”Probably someone from Yunquan Temple’s patrol team set up a small outpost here and committed these heinous acts.”

Yang Youwei cursed, ”That group of animals!”

Li Xiangyang also took a deep breath and said, ”Let’s go. Luckily, Mr. Liang killed that group of animals.”

After returning, Yang Youwei, still furious, found Li Kuirong’s father Li Chuan’s grave and cursed it for a while. Finally, Yang Mei persuaded him to continue the journey, eyes red with anger.

Occasionally encountering a few mutant creatures along the way, Li Xiangyang, Zhang Rongrong, and Yang Wei handled them without Liang Yuan needing to intervene.

Soon, they arrived at the Water Marsh Restricted Area.

As they approached the area, they encountered a formidable mutant creature.

It was a giant mutant monster resembling a crab.

Though it looked like a crab, it also resembled a red spider, with a hard shell, menacing mouthparts, and spiny, thorn-like protrusions all over its body.

It was about two meters wide and around 1.2 meters tall.

Its eight long claws each reached two meters in length, plus two front claws resembling pincers, making it look extremely fierce.

”It’s a mutant crab!” Yang Youwei’s face changed slightly, and he immediately warned.

Li Xiangyang quickly drew his machete and said, ”Mutant crabs of this size should only appear during the sea tide. Why is there one here?”

Zhang Rongrong hastily said, ”Brother Xiangyang, be careful, these shell-type mutant creatures have strong defense power. I’ll use a spiritual attack to test it.”

Zhang Rongrong’s superpower is the [Spiritual Barrier]. She can create an effective spiritual isolation zone that can obstruct the opponent’s vision and even limit their perception.

But this spiritual power skill isn’t good for attacks; it can only trap the enemy, and it’s not as nimble as the illusion realm created by Gao Jie and Liu Feifei.

However, it has an advantage: at least her spiritual barrier provides a certain level of defense ability.

Especially against spiritual attacks, this barrier has high-strength defensive properties.

She pressed her right index finger against her temple, and a surge of spiritual power instantly formed a spiritual barrier around the crab.

Yang Wei quickly vanished, entering a stealth mode where he changed colors to blend in.

Li Xiangyang also melded with light and shadows, becoming nearly invisible as he advanced quickly.

Liang Yuan remained still, watching their cooperative combat style.

Clearly, Zhang Rongrong was responsible for long-range control of the creature, while Li Xiangyang had close combat capabilities and decent recovery skills, indicating he was a frontline fighter.

Yang Wei mainly specialized in sneak attacks.

Their formation seemed effective, which was likely why they hadn’t passed out in the cave before. Li Xiangyang probably selected this tactical lineup to ensure some combat power while sacrificing other unconscious individuals, waiting for an opportunity to escape.

Boom!

The first wave of attack began with an explosive burst of strong light from Li Xiangyang.

The explosion roared, and the flashing light erupted. Zhang Rongrong and Yang Wei anticipated this and immediately closed their eyes.

Liang Yuan and the others were shielded by the spiritual barrier, so they weren’t affected by the flash explosion either.

Liang Yuan’s spiritual power already enveloped the area, monitoring their combat situation.

Li Xiangyang’s flash explosion, similar to a flashbang, had strong light explosive traits, but one wouldn’t be harmed if they weren’t looking directly at it.

Yet, because it was a sneak attack, the mutant crab had no chance to react.

Its bulbous eyes, resembling small balls with stalks, suddenly cracked from the blast, and a large amount of transparent liquid overflowed from them.

Whether it was tears or its blood was uncertain.

But from its intense waving of its pincers, it was clearly greatly stimulated.

With one successful move, Li Xiangyang exposed himself and directly entered an aggressive attack mode.
