Chapter 248: Chapter 9 The Auction Begins

Outside the auction house, people were coming and going in a bustling scene, with many noble family’s young masters arriving, and of course, numerous important figures as well.

“Hey, look, isn’t that the Flame Lion? It must be that kid Jin Wuzhong arriving!”

A few noble sons remarked, swiftly heading over to greet.

The Flame Lion stopped in the square in front of the auction house, and Lin Feng jumped down from it.

“Who are you? How come you rode Jin Wuzhong’s Flame Lion here? Where is Jin Wuzhong?”

Seeing Lin Feng jumping down, someone asked in confusion, as nobody recognized Lin Feng.

Lin Feng smiled and said, “Jin Wuzhong mentioned that sitting on the Flame Lion for too long made his back and legs ache, so that lad decided to run over instead. By my calculations, he should be arriving soon, you all might want to wait here for a bit.”

After speaking, Lin Feng walked towards the auction house.

Inside the auction house, the atmosphere was lively. Holding the Purple Gold VIP Card from the auction house, Lin Feng entered the VIP seats.

Gradually, more people entered the auction house, many discussing the various items that would appear in this auction.

Two hours later, an elder and a beautiful woman walked onto the auction stage, the pair being the auctioneers for this event.

The elder said with a smile, “Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Zhuge Zheng, the main auctioneer for this auction. Beside me is Ouyang Jing, the assistant auctioneer. Today, we will both preside over this auction. Let’s bring forth the first auction item now.”

As Zhuge Zheng’s voice fell, a maid came up carrying a tray, which was covered with ornate cloth, hiding the item beneath.

“What is this?”, many people curiously looked towards the first auction item.

Typically, the first auction item is called “Starting with a Bang.”

As a rule, the first item was invariably something very precious.

Ouyang Jing lifted the cloth, and the item underneath suddenly came into everyone’s view.

It was a golden chain armor, thin as the wings of a cicada.

“Could it possibly be the Holy Armor made from the silk spit by the Golden Cold Silkworm? It’s rumored that this Holy Armor is impervious to blades and swords, immune to water and fire!”

A cultivator exclaimed in shock.

“Correct! It is indeed the Holy Armor crafted from the silk threads spit by the Golden Cold Silkworm. This Holy Armor is incredibly precious, and the starting price for this Holy Armor is one million Gold Coins, with each bid increment no less than ten thousand.”

Ouyang Jing announced.

The currency in circulation on the Heavenly Martial Continent was “Gold and Silver.” One Gold Coin equals one thousand Silver.

One million Gold Coins is equivalent to one billion Silver, undoubtedly a sky-high price.

But even being said to be sky-high, it still piqued the interest of many.

“One million one hundred thousand Gold Coins.”

“One million two hundred thousand Gold Coins.”

“One million five hundred thousand Gold Coins.”

…

“Five million Gold Coins!”

The price skyrocketed all the way to five million Gold Coins.

At that moment, a voice rang out.

“Ten million Gold Coins!”

Whooosh…

Numerous people turned their heads and saw a young noble, extremely handsome, with a proud expression on his face.

“What a grand gesture, jumping straight from five million to ten million, this person really is wealthy and bold.”

“This individual is the legitimate descendant of the Sky Dragon Commerce Association, named Shen Ziqing. The Sky Dragon Commerce Association’s business spreads across East County Divine Land. I heard that the Sky Dragon Commerce Association maintains good relations with many Ancient Forces, and the upper echelons are also very resourceful, offering tribute to the various great forces annually, seeking the protection of the Ancient Forces, their business growing ever larger. Thus, this Sky Dragon Commerce Association is wealthy enough to rival countries, naturally having sufficient money for these legitimate descendants to splurge!”

Someone whispered,

“This gentleman has bid ten million gold coins, is there a higher bid?”

Zhuge Zheng announced loudly,

No one continued to bid.

“Ten million gold coins for the first time!”

“Ten million gold coins for the second time!”

“Ten million gold coins for the third time!”

“Sold.”

“Congratulations to this gentleman for acquiring the Golden Cold Silkworm Treasure Armor,” Zhuge Zheng said with a smile.

“Haha, not bad at all, this treasure armor is exactly what this young master needed,” Shen Ziqing said with a laugh.

Lin Feng shook his head, feeling this person was too ostentatious.

There were quite a few prominent figures sitting in the auction house!

A mere junior!

And just a legitimate descendant of the commerce association, yet so recklessly flamboyant, it really wasn’t wise.

Lin Feng had also heard of the Sky Dragon Commerce Association, which had a legendary rise, allegedly starting from a humble background. The founder happened to befriend a legitimate descendant of the ancient forces, which aided the business greatly with gifts and protection, escalating it more and more.

But, even if the business expanded greatly, it was still just a commerce association and not a top-level force.

One by one, auction items were brought up, many of which were extremely precious treasures.

“This is a two-thousand-year-old Red Blood Ginseng, with a starting bid of two hundred thousand gold coins!”

A treasure medicine was brought out for auction.

“Three hundred thousand gold coins!”

“Four hundred thousand gold coins!”

…

“One million, five hundred thousand gold coins!”

The price of the Red Blood Ginseng soared, eventually being sold for one million, five hundred thousand gold coins to an alchemist.

“A two-thousand-year-old Red Blood Ginseng could fetch a price of one million, five hundred thousand; I wonder what price my three-thousand-year-old Purple Sun Grass could fetch!”

Lin Feng thought to himself.

Of course, he had no intention of selling the Purple Sun Grass, as Lin Feng was an alchemist himself and would surely need such precious spiritual medicine for future refining.

Next, more treasures were brought forth.

For instance, a flying sword of the spiritual artifact level was just brought out when it suddenly soared into mid-air, manifesting a seductive snake woman.

The seductive snake woman twisted her fiery body, flirting with the crowd.

She was the artifact spirit of the flying sword, aptly named the Evil Snake Sword, which provoked a fierce competition among the crowd and was eventually sold for the astronomical price of thirteen million gold coins!

Of course, apart from the flying sword, many other treasures were auctioned, not just magic artifacts, but also rare treasures, martial arts secret manuals, precious elixir recipes, and so forth.

Zhuge Zheng spoke loudly, “The next item up for auction is sure to interest everyone, this is the Body Tempering Liquid, refined by a great alchemist using an ancient medicine recipe. Generally, only the most ancient families have access to such Body Tempering Liquid to refine the physical bodies of their family members, and today, our auction house will be auctioning this mysterious Body Tempering Liquid.”

“Finally, the Body Tempering Liquid, huh?” Lin Feng raised his eyebrows slightly.

Zhuge Zheng’s speech utterly ignited the auction, with many attendees here specifically for the Body Tempering Liquid.
