Chapter 243: Chapter 4 Initial Cooperation Agreement

“President, there is no need to be so polite, I am not worthy of such courtesy,” Lin Feng said as he clasped his fists.

He turned his gaze towards the steward who had now turned pale.

Initially, this person looked down on Lin Feng with an air of superiority, casually reprimanding him, but now he adopted a completely different demeanor; his face deathly white, his body trembling, with his previous arrogance nowhere to be seen.

A faint smile appeared on the corner of Lin Feng’s mouth as he said, “I only hope your auction house can improve the professional skills of its stewards. If it were someone else, they might have come to sell Body Tempering Liquid only to fail in selling it, and perhaps they would’ve even suffered a beating at the hands of your auction house.”

“Fann Shixun.”

The aged voice of Dongfang Pavilion suddenly grew louder.

“My lord, my lord, your subordinate is here,” the steward said as he walked over, his face pale, continuously wiping the cold sweat on his face.

“Apologize to Young Master Lin!” Dongfang Pavilion said coldly.

Fann Shixun bowed his head, his eyes filled with a cold and harsh light. Fann Shixun’s background was not simple; becoming the steward of the Imperial City auction house at around thirty years old was because he was born into an Ancient Family, though he was only the son of a butler of that family, he was absolutely an influential figure outside, and demanding him to apologize to Lin Feng – how could he be willing?

“What? You’re not willing?” Dongfang Pavilion’s face darkened slightly.

“Get out of the auction house!” Dongfang Pavilion looked coldly at Fann Shixun.

Fann Shixun said, “President, I am from the Ancient Noble Families of the Fann Family.”

“How presumptuous! Even the Clan Leader of your Fann Family would have to address me as ‘Uncle Master’ if he saw me today. What are you in comparison? Get out, and from now on, you will never be employed by any auction house in the entire East County Divine Land.”

Dongfang Pavilion flung his robe, and Fann Shixun was sent flying into the air, landing with a thud in the middle of the road.

“Look, isn’t that Fann Shixun? Who dared to throw him out?”

“It seems it was President Dongfang himself who took action. This Fann Shixun has always been arrogant and overbearing, always looking down on others, but now he’s received his comeuppance.”

“Ha ha, he got what he deserved.”

Many people started to discuss as they saw Fann Shixun being thrown out, pointing and commenting.

Fann Shixun had never experienced such humiliation before. When he got up and looked at Dongfang Pavilion and Lin Feng, his eyes were filled with venomous hatred. Dongfang Pavilion was untouchable to him, but Lin Feng – he did not take seriously at all.

“You little beast, you made me suffer like this! I will make you die without a place to be buried.”

Fann Shixun roared, climbing up from the ground and shouting loudly to the crowd, “Get out of the way, don’t block my path.”

Then he pushed through the crowd and disappeared from view.

Lin Feng gave a bitter smile, not expecting that Dongfang Pavilion would actually expel Fann Shixun from the auction house for his sake.

Actually, Lin Feng was still quite young and hadn’t understood some of the underlying reasons. Just now, when Dongfang Pavilion demanded an apology from Fann Shixun, if Fann Shixun had simply apologized, the matter would have been minimized; but Fann Shixun, believing he was from the Ancient Noble Families, though he was merely a servant, felt why should he apologize to a youngster from a Mortal Kingdom?

Fann Shixun’s refusal to apologize was a slap in the face to Dongfang Pavilion.

If Dongfang Pavilion could have contained his anger, that would’ve been strange. Lin Feng thought it over carefully and understood the reason, thinking to himself, “This Fann Shixun is truly courting death; he can’t blame anyone else.”

Dongfang Pavilion looked at Lin Feng with a smile and said, “Young friend, how about we continue our talk in the VIP room upstairs?”

Lin Feng nodded and replied, “Please lead the way, President.”

“Young friend, after you,” Dongfang Pavilion said, being very courteous.

Perhaps, he thought that someone who could produce such a Legendary Level “Body Tempering Liquid” must be extraordinary, and behind him, there might be a hidden, extremely formidable Alchemist.

As for the Body Tempering Liquid coming from Lin Feng’s hands,

Dongfang Pavilion hadn’t even considered this possibility.

They couldn’t believe that a boy who appeared to be sixteen or seventeen years old could refine such a pure Body Tempering Liquid without any impurities!

“My God, it really is Body Tempering Liquid, without any impurities. Who exactly is that kid? Could it be that a great Alchemist stands behind him?”

“Even Luo Xinghe, the greatest Alchemist in East County Divine Land, might not be able to create such Body Tempering Liquid, right?”

“Quick, return to the clan and report this matter.”

“Our Young Master is eight years old this year and has started engaging in cultivation. His talent isn’t bad either; if he has a bottle of this Body Tempering Liquid for his tempering, his talent would increase tenfold. Then he could become an unparalleled genius. Let’s hurry back and report to the Clan Leader; this is certainly a great achievement.”

Many people left quickly.

And Lin Feng accompanied Dongfang Pavilion to the VIP room on the second floor.

“May I ask how to address this young friend?” Dongfang Pavilion asked with a smile.

“Lin Feng!”

“So, it’s Young Master Lin. Regarding this Body Tempering Liquid, may I ask how much Young Master Lin has?” Dongfang Pavilion inquired.

Lin Feng smiled and asked, “President, how much do you plan to take?”

Dongfang Pavilion was startled; it was obvious that the Body Tempering Liquid had just been refined not long ago, and with Lin Feng’s tone, Dongfang Pavilion was even more convinced that a very powerful Alchemist was behind Lin Feng.

Dongfang Pavilion said with a smile, “Such Body Tempering Liquid would be worthless if there’s too much of it.”

“Oh? What does the President mean?” Lin Feng looked towards Dongfang Pavilion.

“Rarity brings value!” Dongfang Pavilion said with a smile.

Lin Feng nodded his head in agreement; indeed, rarity brings value!

These Body Tempering Liquids were not difficult for him to refine!

But if he refined too much, their value would indeed diminish greatly.

“A power wants to exist for a long time, it must rely on inheritance, and what does inheritance rely on? It relies on people. Such Body Tempering Liquid, presumably all the great forces would be interested in obtaining it, right?”

Dongfang Pavilion’s smile was profound and unfathomable.

Lin Feng said, “I have ten bottles of Body Tempering Liquid here, how does the President plan to deal with them?”

Dongfang Pavilion’s eyes lit up and said, “Ten bottles is just right, not too many, not too few. A month from now, the auction house will hold a large-scale auction. At that time, the Body Tempering Liquid will appear in the auction. Moreover, during this month, our auction house will notify some top forces, such as the Ancient Noble Families within Sun Moon City; surely, they will be very interested in such Body Tempering Liquid.”

“Thank you.” Lin Feng bowed with his fist.

“You’re too polite, my friend. This is a mutually beneficial deal,” Dongfang Pavilion said with a smile, “According to the auction house’s rules, for the auctioned items, the proceeds are split 70-30. You will take 70%, and the auction house will take a 30% commission.”

Lin Feng nodded; he was aware this was the rule of the auction house. He said, “Alright, then let’s settle on this.”

“My friend, this is the auction house’s Purple Gold VIP Card. Please accept it.” Dongfang Pavilion handed a purple-gold card to Lin Feng.

Lin Feng knew this was a symbol of status; he didn’t refuse and accepted the Purple Gold Card, then stood up and said, “I take my leave. I’ll come again in a month.”

“Please take care, my friend!” Dongfang Pavilion said as he saw Lin Feng off. Then he hurried to the fifth floor. Outside a room, Dongfang Pavilion straightened his clothes, then knocked on the door and respectfully said, “Miss, this old servant has something to report…”
