Ancient Dragon Elephant Technique

”Black Vine Orchid, Purple Moon Grass, Red Blood Vine, Blood Rain Flower...”

There were a total of twelve kinds of Spiritual Medicine needed to refine Body Tempering Spirit Liquid.

Lin Feng had followed the teachings of the Fire Kirin for three months, mastering three thousand foundational refining methods bestowed upon him, before he began his first true session of medicine refining.

Of course, for his first attempt at refining, the Fire Kirin only asked Lin Feng to complete the refining of Body Tempering Spirit Liquid.

Once familiar with the refining of Spirit Liquid, then he would proceed to solidifying pills!

The process of medicine refining also needed to be done step by step; rushing was not advised and gradual progress was necessary!

The Fire Kirin said, ”Do not underestimate the Body Tempering Spirit Liquid. ’Tempering, tempering;’ this kind of spirit liquid plays a tremendous role for cultivators in the Martial Artist Realm. The Martial Artist Realm is the foundation-building stage; however, talent varies from person to person, partially related to one’s Martial Soul, and also dependent on the impurities within one’s body. Everyone’s body is different; consuming grains and cereals naturally leads to the accumulation of impurities. Why do inheritors from ancient forces cultivate so quickly? It’s because they do not consume ordinary grains. Like the Holy Sons and Holy Daughters of Ancient Sacred Lands, their daily nourishment consists of Spirit Fruit and Immortal Elixirs that have grown for over a thousand years. With few impurities in their bodies, their cultivation speed is swift, and the Body Tempering Pill can help cultivators in the Martial Artist Realm expel these impurities. For the Martial Artist Realm, this foundational stage is absolutely crucial.”

Lin Feng nodded, agreeing that what the Fire Kirin said was indeed correct!

The Martial Artist Realm is all about laying down the foundations, just as a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

The long road of cultivation.

The Martial Artist Realm marks the beginning of this lengthy journey.

If one falls behind at the start, they risk falling behind in every aspect.

Victory on the starting line is vital.

The Fire Kirin continued, ”There are too many methods for refining Body Tempering Liquid, but the methods inherited today do not even catch my eye. Do you know how to extract it?”

Lin Feng knew this was a test from the Fire Kirin.

He had learned three thousand ways of quenching from the Fire Kirin, and according to the Fire Kirin, he could even extract Spiritual Energy from a stone.

But first!

You must find the right method.

Among the three thousand quenching methods, many could achieve extraction, but only one method was the most correct.

Lin Feng thought for a moment and replied, ”Would the Thousand Hammering and Refining Method be suitable?”

The so-called Thousand Hammering and Refining Method involved first refining these Spirit Liquids into a liquid form following a sequence, then repeatedly quenching them with Heavenly Fire a thousand times!

Then, merging all the Spirit Liquids together and quenching them repeatedly another hundred times!

This process would utterly remove the impurities within the Spirit Liquids.

”Good, you may try and see if this method is the most suitable!”

Lin Feng nodded and began to temper the Spiritual Medicine.

Tempering Spiritual Medicine in different sequences yields different results. Lin Feng did not know how others tempered their Body Tempering Spirit Liquid, but according to Fire Kirin, the tempering recipe he had given Lin Feng was a secret technique recorded in the Ancient Medicine Recipe, an Ancient Medicine Recipe developed by the Ancient Medicine God himself.

This was naturally a recipe so precious it was beyond imagination!

The effectiveness of the elixir after it was refined generally related to several factors. The first and most important one was the recipe.

Without a recipe, one could not refine an elixir.

But the same elixir, like the Great Dragon Pill, if refined using an Ancient Medicine Recipe, would naturally be far more powerful than one refined using a less ancient recipe, and the ancient recipes were better in efficacy than the present ones.

Second, the method of tempering the Spiritual Medicine.

This point was also particularly important. Tempering the Spiritual Medicine meant to remove the impurities, leaving behind the most refined Spiritual Liquid!

If there were too many impurities, it was very easy to cause a Pill Explosion (meaning a failure in refining).

Of course, even if it did not explode, if you successfully refined it but the elixir contained too many impurities, would you be increasing your cultivation or consuming poison when you took it? You should know that an elixir with too many impurities is pretty much the same as taking poison.

As the saying goes, ”All medicines have their poison,” which refers to the impurities contained in an elixir.

Third, the flame controlled by the Alchemist.

Heavenly Fire, Earth Fire, Demon Fire...

Each flame is different; the more powerful the flame, the easier it is to remove impurities during the tempering process, and at the same time, in the Solidifying Pill stage, the more powerful the elixir, the more likely the Solidifying Pill will be successful.

Fourth, the Soul Power of the Alchemist.

Refining elixirs is a process that is lengthy, with an immense amount of details and extremely complex steps that require strong Soul Power for support. You need to remember every process and every step, and know what to do in the next step. Just like Lin Feng just mentioned the ”Thousand Hammering and Refining” Quenching Liquid Method, there are a total of fourteen types of Spiritual Medicine, each type of Spiritual Medicine is tempered a thousand times in sequence — that’s fourteen thousand times. Then, following different steps, the remaining Spiritual Liquid is merged, tempering ”a hundred times” for every two types of Spiritual Liquid that are merged. To merge fourteen types of Spiritual Liquid, just think about it, the Quenching Liquid alone requires tens of thousands of steps. How complex are the procedures?

Therefore, the requirements of an Alchemist for their Soul Power are extremely strict; moreover, one wrong step, and the whole procedure is wrong!

You would need to start all over again.

Lin Feng threw the Black Vine Orchid into the Medicine Tripod and, summoning Heavenly Fire, began the Quenching Liquid process.

Quenching Liquid seems like a simple process, but it’s actually not, because the temperature of the flame is very high. While it can temper out the liquid within the Spiritual Medicine, it can also easily evaporate these precious medicinal liquids. Therefore, the control over the temperature of the flame during the Quenching Liquid process is extremely important. Each type of Spiritual Medicine is different, so the temperature for Quenching Liquid can’t be the same. Even for one type of Spiritual Medicine, Quenching Liquid is divided into the initial, middle, final, and last stages. Each stage has different temperature requirements. How to grasp this temperature requires strong Soul Power to sense the changes in the Spiritual Liquid and the changes in temperature.

”Bang”. Suddenly, a loud noise came from inside the Medicine Tripod, and the Spiritual Medicine exploded.

Fire Kirin said, ”The temperature control was incorrect, try again.”

Lin Feng nodded, his expression quite serious. The theory and practice were still very different in the end. Of course, you can’t rush refining an elixir; it requires a gradual and step-by-step learning process. So, even if he failed, he was not discouraged. For three consecutive days, Lin Feng was engaged in refining the Body Tempering Liquid.

On the afternoon of the third day, Lin Feng placed the Spiritual Medicine into the Medicine Tripod, one after another, turning them into Spiritual Liquid. Then he controlled the merging of these Spiritual Liquids, and then tempered it again. After more than two hours, finally, all of the Spiritual Liquid perfectly merged together. A flame flew out of the Medicine Tripod, within which was a clear and transparent liquid — the Body Tempering Liquid that Lin Feng had refined. Looking at the transparent Body Tempering Liquid, Lin Feng was a bit puzzled. Wasn’t the Body Tempering Liquid supposed to be purple? Why was the Body Tempering Liquid he refined transparent?

Fire Kirin nodded in satisfaction. He seemed to know what Lin Feng was thinking and with a curl of the lip said, ”How can the other Quenching Liquids compare with the secret recipe of the Ancient Medicine God? Those Quenching Liquids are purple because they contain too many impurities, while your Body Tempering Liquid is transparent because it has no impurities at all.”
