Chapter 242: Chapter 3 Looking Down on Others

Lin Feng had refined a total of ten bottles of such transparent Body Tempering Liquid.

However, Lin Feng had no use for this Body Tempering Liquid, so he went to the auction house, hoping to sell it to them.

The auction house was a very mysterious organization with an incredibly powerful backing, said to be unimaginably strong. Even the royal family of True Martial Country was just a minor shareholder in the auction house, with no decision-making power. If it weren’t for the fact that the auction house was established in the Imperial City and needed some care from the royal family of True Martial Country, the royal family wouldn’t even have managed to secure that minor shareholder status.

The auction house was a five-story oval-shaped building. The first floor was a trading hall, where various eye-catching items like elixirs, secret manuals, and weapons were on display. Generally, anything you wanted to buy could be found there.

The second floor was a VIP room, a place for hosting distinguished guests.

The third and fourth floors were where fifth-grade auctions were conducted.

The fifth floor was where the upper echelons of the auction house rested!

There was a constant flow of people on the first floor of the auction house; it was bustling. Lin Feng walked into the auction house and headed towards a counter, the place for purchasing all sorts of items. Besides selling various items, the auction house also purchased various treasures, or would collaborate in auctioning them.

There were ten counters in total. Lin Feng approached one staffed by a man in his thirties and said, “I want to sell Body Tempering Liquid. What kind of price can your auction house offer for a bottle like this?”

Lin Feng handed the Body Tempering Liquid to the thirty-year-old steward.

The steward had an arrogant expression, which Lin Feng found quite normal. Since the auction house was backed by a great force, the people working there all considered themselves superior.

The steward opened the porcelain bottle, glanced inside, and his expression immediately darkened. He said, “Boy, are you trying to deceive me?”

“Where do these words come from?” Lin Feng asked.

“This is clearly just water, how can you call it Body Tempering Liquid?” the steward coldly stated.

Lin Feng replied, “If you don’t recognize this as Body Tempering Liquid, it only shows your lack of expertise. You are welcome to let someone else have a look.”

“How dare you! Do you really think I cannot recognize Body Tempering Liquid? Take your stuff and leave the auction house quickly, or else don’t blame me for being rude.”

As he spoke, he tossed the porcelain bottle back to Lin Feng.

Lin Feng calmly said, “I would like to meet your elder or chairman here; if you don’t recognize it, naturally someone else will.”

Upon hearing this, the steward’s face turned cold as he said, “Who do you think you are to deserve an audience with our superior? Guards, throw this boy out.”

“Understood!” Immediately, two of the auction house guards approached Lin Feng, looking fierce and menacing.

“Look, it seems a dispute has arisen!”

Many people looked over, whispering among themselves.

The auction house was already a place full of people, and any incident would easily attract a crowd of onlookers.

“Boy, get out!”

The two auction house guards directly lunged at Lin Feng.

Lin Feng waved his right hand, sending out a gust of wind.

Thump, thump, thump…

The guards were repelled repeatedly by the shock.

“Goodness, this kid’s strength isn’t low.”

“Hey, fighting in the auction house isn’t a wise choice!”

“This will be interesting now; I wonder how it will end.”

Many people speculated.

Seeing Lin Feng’s move, a cold, grim smile appeared on the steward’s face as he said, “Boy, this is the auction house. You dare to act violently here? Do you have a death wish?”

“Hmph, the auction house is nothing special after all, just full of disdainful snobs. If they don’t keep me, there will surely be others who will. Aren’t there places to sell good items?”

Lin Feng snorted coldly and started walking outside.

“Esteemed young friend, please hold on!” Just then, an elderly voice called out.

Lin Feng stopped and turned his head to see an elder descending from the second floor.

It seemed the elder had heard the noise and had come downstairs.

“President!”

Upon seeing the elder, everyone in the auction house was visibly startled and instantly put on humble smiles, greeting the elder with bows.

This elder was no ordinary person; he was not only the president of the auction house, but he was also a Dark Stage Alchemist, the number one Alchemist in the entire True Martial Country. Countless officials and nobles desired a taste of the Spiritual Medicine but could barely ever meet the elder.

“Dispense with the formalities,” the elder nodded slightly.

At this point, the steward spoke, “President, that young man took a bottle of clear liquid, trying to deceive us. I think he came here to cause trouble. We should throw him out…”

Dongfang Pavilion waved his hand, signaling the steward to hold his comments, to which the steward grimly withdrew, not daring to contradict Dongfang Pavilion’s word.

Lin Feng nodded, approached the elder, and with a clasped fist, said, “Body Tempering Liquid.”

Dongfang Pavilion took the porcelain bottle and opened it.

He then poured a drop of liquid from the bottle.

“Clear liquid?”

“Haha, this lad claims this clear liquid is Body Tempering Liquid? Has he lost his mind? Who doesn’t know that Body Tempering Liquid is purple, with the finer grades being light purple? What is this? Clearer than water. Can this be Body Tempering Liquid?”

Many shook their heads.

Hearing the murmurs of the crowd, the steward’s mouth curled into a sneering smile, his look towards Lin Feng filled with schadenfreude.

Dongfang Pavilion, upon seeing the drop of clear liquid in his palm, slightly furrowed his brows, but he said nothing more and carefully smelled the transparent Body Tempering Liquid in his palm. His aged face was suddenly struck with emotion, his right hand holding the bottle trembled slightly, his face full of unbelievable shock.

“Haha, has the President been angered to this extent?” The steward laughed smugly to himself.

He glanced at Lin Feng, sneering inwardly, “You’re going to be in big trouble soon, let’s see how you handle that!”

Many onlookers also whispered among themselves, “Oh no, Dongfang Pavilion seems furious, that young man is in for it.”

…

“Body Tempering Liquid, it indeed is Body Tempering Liquid, my young friend, I, on behalf of the auction house, apologize to you.”

Dongfang Pavilion spoke sincerely.

Seeing this scene, the entire auction house fell dead silent.

The face of that sneering steward turned completely stiff!!

Everyone was incredulous at the spectacle.

Dongfang Pavilion, the top Alchemist of True Martial Country, the president of the Imperial City auction house, a figure countless officials and nobles could scarcely meet, was actually apologizing to this young man?

“Body Tempering Liquid, that clear liquid, it really is Body Tempering Liquid.”

At this moment, many eyes turned towards the porcelain bottle in Dongfang Pavilion’s hand, gasps of astonishment echoed throughout the venue.

Clear Body Tempering Liquid? Could it possibly be the legendary liquid refined to perfection without any impurities?

It was said, only the great Alchemists of the Ancient Era could refine such Body Tempering Liquid.

Countless pairs of eyes fixed onto the Body Tempering Liquid in Dongfang Pavilion’s hand, each pair filled with intense eagerness, everyone understood what this bottle of Body Tempering Liquid represented, it could potentially create a supreme prodigy for a family.
