The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Fu Yu looked into Liu Yuqing’s eyes and smiled, ”Do you want to know when I started liking you?”

Liu Yuqing’s heart started pounding, her brows and eyes carried a hint of the spring color that comes from being deeply in love.

Fu Yu’s mouth curled up with a gentle warm expression, ”Actually, from the very first time I saw you, I liked you... When you came with Sister Gao to greet the kitchen, even though the cooking area was smoky, the moment you stood there, it felt like all the lights in the kitchen shone just on you. You were quite shy as you greeted us one by one, and when you smiled, my heart skipped a beat....”

”Xiaoqing, I love seeing you smile. Every time you lower your eyes, your little eyelashes tremble, your mouth lifts slightly, with a shy little expression, and then dimples appear on your cheeks... it’s so cute, I really like it!”

”I also love watching you eat, especially when you eat the food I cook. I stayed in the kitchen racking my brain to make you some snacks, and seeing you lift up the bowl and eat so seriously, obviously full, but reluctant to put down the bowl... it was adorable.”

”At that time, I thought, having a girlfriend like this is really wonderful! Cooking for someone you like is such a fulfilling thing! The feeling of being in love is so good, so happy!”

Liu Yuqing looked up, Fu Yu was less than ten centimeters away from her, his eyes meeting hers, the gentleness and deep affection in his eyes almost overwhelmed her.

With excellent conditions and always unaffected, when Liu Yuqing truly liked someone, she was willing to humble herself into the dust, blooming into a flower waiting for Fu Yu to pick.

Liu Yuqing’s heart was swelling, and when she opened her mouth, her voice turned hoarse uncontrollably, ”I, I also feel very happy, I also really like you.”

Fu Yu was so sweetened by Liu Yuqing it pained his chest, he licked his fang with a bad smile in his eyes, ”Since you like me, should you have a little faith in me? To put it plainly... I like you, love you, I want to be good to you, but... you also have to like me, love me, trust me, okay?”

”...” Liu Yuqing’s cheeks blushed, she coughed and softly said, ”Okay...”

Fu Yu held Liu Yuqing’s hand, took it out from his down jacket pocket, brought it to his lips, and kissed it lightly, ”You said it, then in the future... can I exercise some boyfriend rights, when I want to kiss you or touch you, you can’t refuse.”

Fu Yu smiled at the corner of his mouth, ”Like now.”

Fu Yu embraced Liu Yuqing, lowered his head slightly, and kissed her lips.

...

They say a good relationship can bring both physical and emotional fulfillment to a person.

Fu Yu felt particularly motivated all day long as he worked.

Today Zhao Meng was on the night shift, responsible for cooking lunch for everyone in the kitchen.

With Fu Yu around, Zhao Meng almost didn’t need to arrange anything.

After a busy morning, leaning against the kitchen bench to rest, Zhao Meng watched his crew working smoothly and was filled with emotion.

He had worked at Qianlima for more than twenty years in the blink of an eye.

Having been the head chef for over a decade, he had learned all sorts of cooking skills and kitchen management.

Originally skilled in all sorts of frying, stir-frying, and boiling, at over forty, his path seemed to narrow instead of widen.

Actually, this is normal, all sorts of cooking techniques have only started blossoming everywhere in recent years.

In their time, they usually learned whatever cooking skill their mentor was good at, learning whatever the mentor taught, practicing whatever was lacking.

Zhao Meng originally thought that his future might just be working in Qianlima’s kitchen until he couldn’t lift the wok anymore, then he’d retire.

Unexpectedly, in his forties, a new avenue opened up.

”The medicinal cuisine seating here at the music restaurant is just starting, but it has very promising prospects. Actually, if you’re interested, you could practice more in stewing skills.”

”After all, your hand has an old injury, you can’t endure the wok for long, but stewing is different, as long as the heat is managed well, there’s no problem.”

”Fu Yu’s side of things, just wait and see, in the future, the channels will definitely be wide, he certainly won’t be able to manage it all by himself, really, you should think carefully about these things...”

...

Recalling what Yao Shi had said, a warm current surged in Zhao Meng’s heart.

At this age, being able to make such a close, sincere friend is really not an easy thing.

When Zhao Meng heard what Yao Shi said, he was quite moved, having not expected that Yao Shi had thought so much and planned so far for him in private.

Zhao Meng felt very happy.

At 4:30 PM, with the afternoon dining peak arriving.

Liu Junrong, seeing Zhao Meng sweat profusely, couldn’t help but ask, ”Chef Zhao, should I get you a dry towel?”

Zhao Meng casually grabbed a napkin, wiped his forehead, and smiled, ”No need.”

Liu Junrong, also sweating profusely, stretched his shirt collar and giggled, ”Alright then!”

Working in the kitchen is always like this, it’s snowing heavily outside, but the kitchen is always unbearably stuffy and hot.

With several stoves going at the same time and large workloads, sweating is normal; any chef who spends a day in the kitchen will have clothes drenched in sweat by evening.

Sun Qingning sighed nearby, ”If you really want to grab a towel, pass one to me, don’t worry about Chef Zhao. Let me tell you, in our entire kitchen, the happiest of us is Chef Zhao. His life is so comfortable, Sister Dai takes great care of him, and he even gets a new chef’s coat every morning and afternoon.”
