The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Upon hearing the saleswoman’s words, Liu Yuqing’s eyes lit up immediately: ”So it’s true! Fu Yu is incredibly lucky to win a prize of 180,000 all at once!”

Liu Yunong looked at Fu Yu on the stage and muttered to herself: ”I always thought the top prizes in these kinds of activities were just publicity stunts set up in advance. I didn’t expect your company to be so open!”

Liu Yunong assumed that these kinds of lotteries might be real, but top prizes like these are usually predetermined, and the so-called winnings are absolutely fake!

After all, it’s 180,000; even something small is still valuable. How could they just let the prize slip away to outsiders?

Especially since she was very well aware of Fu Yu’s situation.

But she never expected the grand prize to be real!

Moreover...

So does this mean I don’t need to help him buy a house?

Fu Yu actually bought a house on his own.

This guy is really something!

It seems that this medicinal cuisine business is definitely profitable!

No wonder Yao Shi holds Fu Yu in such high regard and even set up a special promotion event for him.

Thinking of this, Liu Yunong couldn’t help but feel that her beloved disciple is truly competent and increasingly fortunate. It’s really something special!

The saleswoman beside them chuckled, saying: ”Since the house is already bought, this bonus can be used for renovations. Although the houses in our community are unfinished, both the underfloor heating and the waterproofing of the kitchen and bathroom have been pre-installed by the construction team, so the owners don’t need to spend extra money on modifications.”

The person in charge had already explained these details to them in the sales office.

Liu Yunong nodded with a smile.

Liu Yuqing, however, remained silent for some time.

She didn’t know when Fu Yu had suddenly bought a house.

He had only said earlier that he rented a place outside, so how did this suddenly happen...

Wait a minute...

Suddenly, Liu Yuqing realized that Fu Yu never actually said he rented a place, only that he had acquired a house and wanted to renovate it.

She had just assumed that since Fu Yu couldn’t afford to buy a house, if he said he had one, it must be rented.

Thinking back now, maybe she misunderstood?

...

Standing on stage to receive the award, Fu Yu was actually quite delighted inside.

Although he had already received the money, it felt more legitimate now, which somewhat relieved his burden.

He cooperatively accepted the flowers, posed with the advertisement card displaying the 180,000 prize amount, and took a photo with Wu Fan. He then received an envelope for the check on stage.

Of course, it was an empty envelope.

But as he stepped down with the bouquet and the envelope, he noticed no one came to reclaim the flowers, so he casually asked, ”Are these flowers for me?”

The host smiled and said, ”Yes, they’re prepared just for you. There’s even a congratulatory card attached to it.”

Fu Yu found and looked at it, and sure enough, there was a card printed with the Golden Port Real Estate Company logo, with a formal congratulatory message.

Fu Yu took the card off and casually tucked it into his pocket, glancing at the bouquet in his hand.

Though it was just for show, the flowers were real, and quite pretty.

Just right for dinner tonight, to present as a gift.

Feeling cheerful, Fu Yu exchanged a few polite words with Wu Fan and, seeing that no one was paying attention, he checked his phone—it was already 3:30 in the afternoon.

It might be a good time to head to the Department Store to see what kind of present he should buy for his mentor Liu Yunong.

With these thoughts, Fu Yu took out his phone and called Liu Yuqing to ask what kind of things his mentor might like.

Fu Yu knew Liu Yunong wasn’t lacking money.

Regular items certainly wouldn’t interest Liu Yunong, so he didn’t plan to cater specifically to her tastes, only intended to buy something suitably modest, preferably practical.

On matters concerning Liu Yunong, Liu Yuqing would certainly be the most knowledgeable. Asking her was the best bet.

...

Liu Yuqing was hesitating whether to go find Fu Yu when her phone suddenly rang. She picked it up to see it was Fu Yu calling.

Liu Yuqing raised an eyebrow slightly, curious about what Fu Yu wanted to say!

Almost as soon as the call connected, Fu Yu’s excited voice, accompanied by noisy background sound, came through.

”Xiaoqing! Let me tell you, I won a major award today! The grand prize, hahaha!!”

In fact, Fu Yu had originally wanted to tell Liu Yuqing about it but never found the right moment.

Now it’s perfect; with the renovation funding being recognized, it’s much easier to explain.

Fu Yu was too excited, in his frenzy to share the good news with Liu Yuqing; he didn’t immediately notice the equally loud background noise coming from Liu Yuqing’s side when the call first connected.

Fu Yu exclaimed: ”It’s in Fengqiao Riverfront, in the newly built community on Red Flag Road, the environment here is fantastic. I made a down payment on a house here and attended the raffle event today, and I won!”

Listening to Fu Yu’s enthusiastic report, Liu Yuqing’s mild dissatisfaction quickly dissipated.

She watched as Fu Yu, beaming with joy, got off the stage and spoke on the phone, and couldn’t help but smile slightly at the corners of her mouth.

She thought: So he was planning to surprise me!

As she was thinking this, she heard Fu Yu boast, asking: ”Hey, can you guess how much the grand prize money is?”

Liu Yuqing chuckled softly and said: ”Oh, let me guess, hmm, I guess the grand prize is 180,000, and it’s given in cash, right?”
