Chapter 348: [Bonus (－_－) zzZ] Side Story: Love Letters and Beginning of the Fall of an Empire!

”Haha… He is so incredibly cute~” Liora murmured softly, her voice tinged with a mix of amusement and affection as her gaze lingered on the big wolf plush that he had so thoughtfully gifted her.

It wasnʼt just a simple gift; it was a symbol of his feelings, wrapped in warmth and tenderness, much like the lovely love letter that accompanied it.

Her slender legs dangled playfully in the air as she lay sprawled across the bed. Her fingers, delicate and tender, traced the edges of the love letter....

To My Wild and Fiery Wolfy~

I couldnʼt help but smile the moment I laid eyes on this adorable plush… Itʼs soft, playful, and irresistibly cute… just like you. But honestly? Youʼre far more alluring and sexier~

I can almost picture that mischievous grin on your face when I say ʼsexierʼ… Am I right?

To be completely honest, after receiving your ʼLoveʼ Letters… no, letʼs be honest and call them what they are... ʼMating Requests,ʼ

Iʼve started to understand you on a deeper level. Thereʼs something primal, something wild in the way you express yourself, and itʼs awakening something in me too~

/

Lioraʼs lips curved into a grin, her legs kicking in the air with a playful energy as she continued to read. The words, once playful, now began to carry a deeper, more intimate... Her heart fluttered!!

/

Thereʼs something happening here… something I canʼt quite put into words. But every time I sit down to write to you, your image floods my mind, and I canʼt help but smile.

Liora Darkfang… I think you are slowly but surely carving your way into my heart… and itʼs both exhilarating and terrifying~

Iʼm starting to fall for the way youʼre both fiery and tender, always keeping me on my toes, and making my heart race with every word you write.

Youʼre a lovely woman who knows what she wants, who fights for it with a passion thatʼs as fierce as it is enchanting… and I canʼt help but be drawn to that~

/

”Hahaha…” Lioraʼs laughter bubbled up. Her heart swelled with a warmth that was almost overwhelming, a sense of triumph and joy that she had never quite experienced before. Her efforts, her longing, were paying off in ways she had only dared to dream of…

/

Youʼre laughing, arenʼt you? I can almost hear it~ Liora~ that delightful sound that I wish I could capture and hold close to my heart.

Lioraʼs laughter stopped, caught in her throat as her eyes widened. Her heart skipped a beat, her cheeks flushing with a deep crimson that spread like wildfire.

Her fluffy tail swayed gently in the air....

/

I donʼt mind using Kaelen as our delivery boy, but you really should tell him the truth!!

He is after all... Our son, right?

I canʼt wait for the next time I receive your lovely Love… Mating Letter~

/

For a moment, she simply stared at the letter, her heart racing in her chest as her thoughts swirled in a heady mix of emotions.

Blushing, she looked away.... Her lips quivered, caught between a shy smile and something deeper, something more vulnerable.

She was so incredibly happy… her hard work, her patience, was bearing fruit in the sweetest way imaginable. With just a little more time… she could have Aether inside her, fulfilling a longing that had grown too powerful to ignore.

Her flower trembled with anticipation, echoing the quickening beat of her heart!!

ʼH-He understood me?ʼ she thought, her mind racing as she reread the last lines, her lips trembling slightly with a mixture of disbelief and joy.

She wasnʼt just using her son as a delivery boy… she was training him!

Yes, Training! Kaelen wasnʼt as swift as she was, so she had set time limits, forcing him to push his limits, to run faster across the vast distances that separated them. In her own way, she was teaching him to be strong, but admitting that? That was a different matter entirely.

”W-Whatʼs this feeling?” she whispered to herself, the words barely audible as she gently placed the letter among the growing collection she had received from Aether. Each one was precious, a treasure she held close to her heart.

It was the ʼNʼth time she had read those old letters, yet each time, they made her heart race anew, filling her with a warmth she had never known before… a warmth that wrapped around her like a comforting embrace.

She then held the plush close, staring at it.... Her lips curled into a soft smile.

”It really does look like me…” she mused, bringing the plush to her face and inhaling deeply. The scent of Aether lingered on it, a scent that soothed her restless heart and calmed her racing thoughts.

As her gaze drifted around the room, she took in the sight of all the gifts he had sent her, each one a testament to his affection.

”Never in my life have I received gifts from anyone… It feels so different,” she murmured, her voice filled with a quiet wonder. She could hardly wait for todayʼs letter, her mind racing with thoughts of what he might send her next, what words he would use to ignite the fire within her heart once more.

It made her heart ache, just a little, with a longing that was becoming harder and harder to bear… She wanted to see him, to feel his lips against hers, to lose herself in his embrace.

And if possible… to mate with him until her body could not move an inch!!

Just as Liora was lost in her thoughts, a sudden knocking sound pulled her back to reality.

Knock, Knock

Lioraʼs lips twitched in mild annoyance as she quickly hid the plush and the letters beneath her pillow. She smoothed her hair, composed herself, and opened the door, revealing… Maelona.

”What brings you here at this time?” Liora asked, her eyes half-closed with a mix of curiosity and irritation.

Maelonaʼs lips twitched in response, her tone dripping with exasperation, ”Itʼs my house, Liora. I can come and go as I please!”

Ever since Aether had left, Liora had been staying at Maelonaʼs house rather than with her own Darkfang tribe.

Liora simply shrugged, not bothering to hide her indifference. It was Aether who had asked her to stay and take care of Maelona, given her current weakened state and all… but Liora wasnʼt about to admit that.... Why spoil the fun of getting under Maelonaʼs skin?

ʼHeheh…ʼ Liora giggled inwardly, delighting in the flash of annoyance that crossed Maelonaʼs face.

Maelona clicked her tongue, clearly irritated but trying to maintain her composure. She knew exactly why Liora was staying in the house, even without it being said aloud. Aether, that meddling boy, had somehow managed to tame this wild, barbarian woman.

It was infuriating!

”Anyhow,” Maelona continued, forcing her voice to calm, ”weʼve managed to get almost 60% of the Elders on our side. With this, we can move forward with our plan starting tomorrow and finally overthrow Alaricʼs rule…”

Liora shook her head, her expression turning serious. ”But Aether did say we need at least 90% of the Elders on board before we move forward with the plan,” she said, her brow furrowing with concern.

Maelona sighed, ”Heʼs just a child, Liora. He doesnʼt understand how politics work…” she retorted. Having lived for thousands of years, Maelona knew the intricacies of power and the kind of decisive actions that needed to be taken.

Liora shrugged again, nonchalant. ”Well, if the plan fails, donʼt drag me into it. I donʼt want him to be disappointed,” she said, her voice softening slightly as she thought of Aether.

Maelona frowned, considering Lioraʼs words. She knew Aetherʼs insistence on 90% was a precaution, a failsafe in case Alaric tried to pull something unexpected.

But thatʼs way too cautious...

Just then, their conversation was interrupted by the familiar sight of Kaelen arriving with his usual routine. He handed his mother, Liora, a large bag filled with something, and in return, she gave him a letter.

Kaelen nodded eagerly, his face lighting up with a smile before he turned and ran off, his pace hurried and determined.

Maelona watched the exchange with a puzzled expression before turning to Liora, her curiosity piqued, ”Care to explain why youʼre using your son as a delivery boy?”

Liora glanced at Maelona with a smirk, ”Delivery boy? Donʼt you see? His running time has started to decrease.”

”H-huh?” Maelona stammered, her brow furrowing in confusion. She then remembered how she had first encountered a drenched and almost pale Kaelen on his first day of delivering those letters..... Now, he didnʼt even pause to catch his breath before running back.

Maelona stared at Liora, who simply smirked, clearly pleased with herself, ʼOnly Aether understands me…ʼ Liora thought, her smirk widening, which only served to irritate Maelona further.

Just as Maelona was about to inquire about the contents of the bag, Liora abruptly slammed the door in her face.

THUD!!

Veins popped on Maelonaʼs forehead, her temper flaring as she glared at the closed door. ʼThis bitch!! Itʼs my house, bitch!!ʼ she fumed silently, gritting her teeth in frustration.
