Chapter 326: He killed everyone! A True Monster!

”Hmm”

”Hmmm”

”Delicious...” Aether nodded with satisfaction as he chewed the meat, his eyes glancing over at Delphine, who was quietly eating her food without saying anything.

But Aether knew from the soft, thoughtful look on her face that she was struggling internally...

She was having a hard time holding her composure.

Aether couldnʼt help but grin slightly before asking, his voice laced with curiosity, ”So?”

Delphine seemed to snap out of her reverie, her eyes meeting his as she replied, ”Itʼs truly delicious. We should definitely give a positive review.”

”You know thatʼs not what I wanted to know, right?” Aether said, his voice carrying a gentle yet probing tone.

Delphine sighed deeply, the weight of her thoughts evident in her posture. She continued to eat with a graceful elegance, giving herself time to process her emotions.

Aether didnʼt push her further, giving her the time she needed.

After a moment, Delphine broke the silence, her voice steady but carrying a hint of hesitation. ”Aether...”

”Yes?”

”It may sound absurd, but would you believe me if I said that I can see..... the future?” Delphineʼs voice was serious, her face marked by a blend of concern and uncertainty.

”Well, I believe you...” Aether replied without hesitation. He had witnessed enough strange occurrences to take her seriously, even if she claimed to be a past lover or something equally improbable.

However,

”Even if I told you that you... killed me?” Delphineʼs voice was barely above a whisper, her eyes reflecting a mixture of fear and sadness.

”.....” Aether was taken aback, his expression shifting to one of deep seriousness. ”What did you see?”

Delphine sighed with relief, having expected a more dramatic reaction like:

ʼI would never do thatʼ

ʼYou must be lying to avoid meʼ

She felt a bit of happiness knowing that he had grown a lot and was acting like a mature man.

”You see... I have the bloodline of a Water Spirit or Water Nymph, which grants me the ability to foresee future events,” Delphine explained, her expression devoid of any shyness or cuteness.

”Itʼs a bloodline ability, then...” Aether nodded, his curiosity piqued. ”Continue.”

”Although I have this ability to see the future, itʼs not something I can control at will. It manifests randomly, presenting me with glimpses of future events based on current circumstances. It rarely triggers when I try to use it intentionally,” Delphine elaborated.

”Okay...” Aether nodded in understanding, his expression thoughtful. ”So, why would I kill you?”

Delphine shook her head, her expression growing sombre, ”It wasnʼt about will. It was something that was meant to happen in the past.”

”You mean?” Aether frowned, trying to piece it together.

”When the old man brought you into our home, and My eyes first laid on you.... my bloodline ability activated immediately.

What I saw was... the destruction of the Frostblade household,” Delphineʼs voice trembled as she recalled the vivid and disturbing images etched into her memory.

She remembered it clearly: Aether.... no, a monster that looked like Aether, with indifferent black eyes.. pulled the heart out of Seleneʼs body and threw it aside. The bodies of Velc, Mortimer, Kai, Alfred, and Timmy were strewn around, each lifeless.... Itʼs not only them everyone inside the mansion where died!

Delphine herself, battered and barely able to move, looked up at a black-haired woman who stood beside Aether.

”S-Sister-in-law... S-Stop him...” Delphine had pleaded with a pained expression, but the woman didnʼt react. The monster Aether turned toward Delphine and walked slowly, his black eyes devoid of emotion.

”N-No...” Delphine had mumbled as the soulless eyes of the monster locked onto her. She felt her own heart being pulled out, her screams swallowed by the night.

Aether, who had been listening intently, had a horrified expression, ”What the fuck?”

Delphine continued, her voice softer now, ”At that time, I was indeed ready to kill you,” she admitted, her face showing hesitation and fear.

Aether, despite the shocking revelation, didnʼt show much reaction. He understood that Delphine just wanted to protect her family from a potential threat, ”I get it,” he said calmly. ”Continue.”

Delphine sighed with relief before continuing, ”I first consulted the situation with my sister-in-law. Initially, she tried to persuade the old man without revealing the truth about my vision, but he never listened, and neither did Velc. Then, When Velc used Eternal Slave...

I saw your eyes turning deep black just like in the vision, I immediately told this to my sister-in-law, and she suggested that both of us should leave the house immediately.”

”Okay... I get it. But I donʼt understand why you needed to leave?” Aether asked, curious.

”Because my bloodline ability only reveals events related to me. By distancing ourselves from you, we hoped to alter the outcome. My sister-in-law left for the same reason. She was in the vision, where she stood beside you, witnessing the houseʼs destruction. So, she left in hopes of changing that future, and as you can see.... it seems to have worked,” Delphine explained.

”I see...” Aether nodded, though he struggled to fully grasp the situation. ʼSo, this somehow involves Ether... If they were present, they might have helped Ether, and Timmy might not have bullied him. I might not have awakened here, or something like that?ʼ His thoughts were deeply entangled.

Delphine was taken aback by how Aether had changed. She had expected him to react differently, but seeing him so calm made her reflect on how the future had altered significantly. She wondered what could have caused the initial death of their family members.

”So, the reason youʼre trying to avoid me is because.... you believe Iʼll kill you again?” Aether asked, his frown deepening. No matter how he looked at her, the thought of harming her seemed impossible.

Delphine shook her head, her face reflecting dread, ”No, itʼs not about you killing me... The last vision I had was triggered when you absorbed the Arcane energy from the Ice wall I created.... I saw... the death of everyone.”

”H-huh?” Aether was taken aback again.

Delphineʼs face turned even more dreadfully. ”Yes, I saw the vision of studentsʼ death, professors... Everyone!!”

Delphineʼs vision had shown Aether standing atop a scene of carnage, the bodies of students scattered everywhere, no one left alive under a dark, stormy sky and...

THUNDER!!!!

”Hehe...” An uncanny laugh with thunder.... before she fell, just like the others.

Aetherʼs breath caught in his throat, unable to believe what he had just heard.

Delphine, her voice soft and pleading, said, ”Thatʼs why Iʼm trying to avoid you... The incidents in my visions were only possible if I was involved. By keeping my distance, I hope to change the outcome.”

”I see...” Aether nodded, rubbing his forehead in deep thought. ʼWhat the actual fuck is going on? If it was before, I could believe it might be due to Ether, but now... Did I really do that? Why?ʼ

Delphine saw him lost in thought and felt a wave of relief wash over her. She smiled softly and said, ”I hope you understand why Iʼm doing this.”

Aether nodded, but he still couldnʼt fully process what he had just heard.

Delphine, her smile firm but urgent, warned him, ”Now that you understand... You must avoid getting too close to Aria!”

Hearing that, Aether snapped back to reality and looked at Delphine with a puzzled expression. ”Why? Are you jealous that Iʼm spending time with her?”

”A-Ah, of course not!” Delphine replied, her face flushing with embarrassment.

Aether smiled heartily before winking at her and asked, ”Delphine...”

”Y-Yes?”

”I wonder if you saw anything other than death?” Aether asked curiously. If her foresight was related to her situation, then she should have ʼseenʼ that too, right?

And,

Delphineʼs face flushed deeply, a mix of embarrassment and something more intense flickering in her eyes.
