Chapter 324: Asking out?!!

Next Morning

Thud

Delphine closed the door softly after checking on Kyra, her mind swirling with confusion and concern. She turned to Victor, her eyes blazing with an intensity that made him pause. ”What did you do to her?” she demanded.

Victor raised an eyebrow, genuinely perplexed. ”What happened?” he asked, his tone calm and collected, masking any hint of guilt or mischief.

Delphineʼs lips twitched in frustration. ”She said she was sorry for being a coward,” she replied, her voice faltering slightly.

She wasnʼt sure what had transpired, but Kyra seemed different... more energetic, more alive. And looking at Victor, Delphine had a nagging suspicion he was behind this change.

Victor nodded, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. He turned to leave, but before he could take a step, Delphineʼs voice stopped him.

”Wait!” she called out, a blush spreading across her cheeks. She hesitated, her heart pounding in her chest, ”W-Well, are you free this evening?”

Victor smirked inwardly, though outwardly he adopted a thoughtful expression as if deeply contemplating his schedule. He enjoyed seeing her flustered, but he also knew the fine line he walked.

Delphine watched him, irritation bubbling beneath her calm exterior. She knew she had caused the distance between them and now felt the sting of regret. She waited, hoping he would say yes.

After what felt like an eternity, Victor finally spoke. ”Yes, I donʼt think I have anything in particular to do.”

Delphine let out a heavy sigh of relief, her expression softening. Her fingers played nervously with the hem of her dress. ”I-I... Would you like to try this new restaurant with me?”

Victor of course nodded without hesitation, he could not always act bitchy which might backfire on him!! and his smile was genuine this time, ”Iʼd love to.”

Delphineʼs blush deepened, and she nodded quickly. ”O-Okay then...” This time, she walked out of the house, her face bright red, leaving Victor standing there with an amused expression.

ʼMore like she ran away...ʼ Victor thought, chuckling to himself, ”I suppose this might mark the beginning of our relationship,” he murmured before turning his attention to the door.

He hesitated for a moment, his hand hovering over the doorknob before he knocked and entered the room.

Kyra, lying on the bed and engrossed in a book Delphine had given her, looked up as Victor entered. Her eyes softened, and a small smile tugged at her lips.

They stared at each other for a moment, Finally, Kyra broke the silence. ”I am sorry,” she said softly, her voice filled with sincerity.

Victor walked towards her, his expression unreadable. He gently patted her head, his touch comforting. ”I am not going to apologize because I know what I did and the reason for it.”

Kyra blinked a few times, absorbing his words. Then, she smiled and nodded. ”I know... and I wonder who is senior and who is junior here.”

”Haha...”Victor chuckled softly, the tension in the room dissipating.

....

”W-What do you want?” Lia asked, her voice tinged with annoyance and curiosity as she looked at Raven Noir, who had been shadowing her for quite some time.

Raven remained silent, her intense gaze fixed on Lia.

”Sigh, I told you, that thief stole the money from me,” Lia said with a deep sigh, rubbing her nose and shooting a cautious glance at Raven.

ʼIs she really going to follow me everywhere?ʼ Lia wondered, her frustration growing.

Meanwhile, Raven Noir studied Lia with a furrowed brow. Something about this girl felt off as if she were hiding a crucial piece of information.

That day, Raven Noir, who had been waiting for Lia, was surprised to hear the story about her kidnapping for the money and being hurt by the thief. That thief was, of course, Aether, a man Lia could not hope to defeat.

Raven Noir initially believed Liaʼs story, having witnessed that manʼs formidable power firsthand. However, whenever she pressed for details, Lia would evade or provide inaccurate information. This inconsistency led Raven to follow Lia, hoping to uncover the truth. But she found nothing.... no clues about the mysterious man or the stolen money, only Liaʼs suspicious closeness to a servant.

”I know that...” Raven spoke after a long pause, her voice calm yet probing. ”I was just curious... You must have seen his face, right? Why havenʼt you told me about that?”

”T-That was...” Lia stammered, her mind racing for an excuse.

Ravenʼs penetrating stare made Lia sweat bullets, ”His face... I forget, tee-hee,” she said, trying to sound cute and innocent.

Ravenʼs lips twitched, her patience wearing thin. She was about to press further when, Stay tuned to мѵʟ

”Lia!!!” Seleneʼs voice rang out, motioning for her to come.

”Iʼm coming!!” Lia shouted back, relief flooding her features. ʼI will forgive you for harassing Aether...ʼ she thought, feeling a surge of happiness. She glanced at Raven and said, ”I need to go, my friend is calling me!!” She then hurried away.

Raven watched Liaʼs retreating back before turning away, frustration evident in her eyes.

Meanwhile,

”Itʼs rare to see Raven talking to you... more like itʼs rare to see her talking at all,” Selene remarked, her curiosity piqued as she wondered what Lia and Raven had discussed.

”Just some money matters...” Lia replied vaguely.

Selene nodded, and they continued walking back to their dormitory...

”Hmm?” Lia tilted her head curiously, noticing red-black petals scattered around the area. ”What flower is that?” she asked, picking up a petal and sniffing it. There was no scent.

Selene shrugged. ”Not sure, maybe some kind of new flower blooming around this time.”

”Hmm...” Lia nodded, smelling the petal again, still unable to detect any scent.

It wasnʼt just her,

”Where are these petals coming from?” Alaric asked with a frown, glancing at the other professors, who shook their heads in confusion.

Alaricʼs frown deepened. He was certain there were no trees or flowers that produced these kinds of petals. He then ordered the professors to investigate.

ʼSomething is wrong...ʼ Alaric thought, feeling a growing unease.

Ssssshhhhh

A gentle breeze blew around, carrying the petals towards him.

He took one of the petals and stared at it.... Suddenly,

Crack, Crack..

The petal cracked with lines and in a matter of seconds...

It turned into a spider and, at lightning speed, moved towards Alaricʼs face. However,

Pufff!

Alaric crushed it without breaking a sweat.

”What the hell was that?” Alaric frowned, but then his eyes widened. He had only picked one of the petals that had blown onto him, but there were more sticking to his body. Before he could brush them away,

Chuckkk

”Arrhh!”

Meanwhile,

”....”

”....”

Both Delphine and Aether was blankly stared at each other.
