Lackey's Seducing Survival Odyssey

Chapter 303: Getting even Creepier

Thud

”Hehe---” Victorʼs eerie chuckle abruptly stopped as he turned around, his eyes scanning the room for the source of the noise.

A sense of unease crept over him, and he swallowed hard, ʼI-I am alone, right?ʼ he thought, feeling the weight of the silence pressing in around him.

He glanced at Snowflake, who had been sleeping peacefully on his neck, suddenly awakened and was now staring intently at a particular corner, her small brows furrowed in suspicion.

Victorʼs heart rate quickened. To be honest, he had never been one to fear ghosts or other paranormal phenomena... until now.

The Academyʼs ghost stories had always seemed like just that.... stories. But this eerie silence, combined with the unsettling happenings, was beginning to get to him.

He started moving cautiously towards the source of the sound.

The laboratory was tightly sealed, with only a few small windows that allowed in just enough light to create long, creeping shadows.

ʼCome on, Victor! You can do this!!ʼ he mentally screamed at himself, trying to muster the courage to confront whatever was causing the disturbance. He approached a set of curtains that were... oddly bulging.

ʼFuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!!!ʼ he cursed inwardly, Whether it was a person or... something else, he knew he would likely be scared out of his wits. Just as he was about to pull the curtain aside, his eyes half-closed in anticipation,

Thud

Both he and Snowflakeʼs heads snapped towards the new sound.

ʼGulpʼ

Victorʼs mouth went dry as he peered into the seemingly empty room....

ʼDonʼt turn, Donʼt turn, Donʼt turn....ʼ Victor told like a mantra, according to the Horror movie he knew what was going to come, so he used every ounce of energy to not turn.

Despite this, curiosity got the better of him, and he slowly turned his head back... only to find the bulge in the curtain had vanished.

”...!” Victor clenched his eyes shut for a moment, then quickly pulled the curtain aside and then he saw... something.

A transparent fluid on the floor!!

Victor nudged his nose. He didnʼt care whether it was genuinely water or something else. If others wanted to have fun, it was their right! So he wasnʼt going to bark at them.

However, he was really curious about who was having fun around here.

ʼWho the fuck is fucking around?ʼ he thought before stomping on the ground and immediately appearing behind the equipment cupboards.

Victorʼs eyes widened in surprise when he saw.... A twin-tailed girl with yellow hair crouched down, covering herself with her hands in a futile attempt to hide... It was Vesperine, of course.

However, since Victor didnʼt know who it was, he asked with a cold voice, ”What are you doing here?”

Vesperine flinched at his cold tone, her eyes wide with fear. She looked up and saw his masked face, her own eyes welling up with tears.

”H-Help me!” she cried out, her voice trembling.

Victorʼs frown deepened, ʼWhat is she talking about?ʼ he wondered. ”Help? With what?” he asked, his voice still cold and stern.

Vesperine, shaking visibly, pointed back at the curtain, ”T-Thereʼs something there...” she stammered, her voice filled with dread.

Victor felt his lips twitch in irritation. ”Okay? But why are you here in the first place?” he demanded.

But Vesperine only repeated, more urgently, ”There is something there!!!” Her eyes darted around the room, clearly terrified.

Victorʼs gaze only stared at hers, and he noticed her legs were glistening with droplets of liquid. Vesperine quickly tried to cover her legs, her face flushing with embarrassment. ”I-Itʼs not what it looks like... I-I was just a little scared...” she mumbled, her voice barely audible.

Victor couldnʼt help but smirk slightly, ʼSo, she wet herself?ʼ he thought with a mix of amusement and pity. ”Thereʼs nothing there except a wet floor,” he said, his tone softening just a bit.

Vesperineʼs blush deepened, but she insisted, her voice more desperate, ”Iʼm telling the truth! I saw something, I swear!”

Victor sighed, just about to reassure her when,

”HIKK!!” Vesperine shrieked, cowering even more.

Victor frowned, his eyes darting towards the sound. ”Alright...” he muttered, turning back to Vesperine. ”Wait here, Iʼll go check it out...” His voice trailed off as he noticed... Vesperine disappeared and,

Another puddle of transparent fluid on the floor!

ʼWhat the hell is going on?!ʼ Victor screamed internally, his nerves fraying. He grabbed the equipment he needed and, without another word, hurried out of the room. It wasnʼt that he was scared... well, maybe a little. But something was definitely off, and he had no intention of sticking around to find out what.

As he left, he thought, ʼWhatʼs going on here?ʼ

Vesperine had vanished as mysteriously as she had appeared, leaving only the strange fluid behind.

Victor recalled seeing her flushed cheeks and slightly panting face, her body language betraying a mix of fear and... something else, ʼWas she aroused?ʼ he wondered, his mind racing to piece together the bizarre scene. Her nipples had been visible through her clothes, a detail that only added to the confusion.

”Tsk, whatever...” he muttered, shaking his head as he exited the laboratory. He slammed the door behind him, plunging the room into darkness.

In the silence that followed, a sudden ʼThudʼ sound and a soft chuckle echoed, ”Heheh...” The sound was eerie, a mix of amusement and menace. ”Come to daddy~” A shadowy figure reached out, its hand passing over the equipment shelves. One by one, the tools and crystals disappeared, the room growing emptier and eerier by the second.

Meanwhile, Victor had changed his outfit.

”Master Kai,” Aether greeted with a bow, his eyes flicking to Kai, who was sitting on a playground bench, enjoying a meal with Vesperine.

Kai looked up, his face darkening slightly. His sweet moment had been interrupted. ”What is it?” he asked, his tone laced with annoyance.

Aether glanced at Vesperine, his curiosity piqued, ”I was wondering who this lovely lady is beside you?” he asked, his voice polite but probing.

Kai frowned a hint of confusion on his face. He had introduced her earlier, hadnʼt he? though it was directed at Aqualina still... Just as he was about to wave Aether off,

”Hello, my name is Vesperine,” Vesperine introduced herself with a bright smile, holding a spoonful of food towards Kai. ”Iʼm his lover,” she declared proudly.

Kai blushed, taking the offered bite with a tender expression... The air around them seemed to shimmer with a soft, romantic glow... Bubble effects!

”Oh!” Aether exclaimed, feigning surprise. He bowed deeply, ”Hello, Madam Vesperine. My name is Aether, and I serve Master Kai and Princess.”

Vesperine smiled gently, her eyes softening. ”Please, take good care of my Kai,” she said, her voice sweet and caring as she caressed Kaiʼs cheek.

Kaiʼs face flushed even deeper, his eyes reflecting the warmth of her affection. ”Vesp... I love you~” he murmured, his voice full of emotion.

Aether nodded, watching the coupleʼs tender exchange. Yet, his gaze was sharp, observant. He scanned Vesperine, looking for any signs of something amiss. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, he clicked his tongue in mild disappointment. But then his eyes fell on Kaiʼs shoes...

There was a small, wet stain.

Of course, it could have been water... but there was a chance it was something else, right?

ʼAre these two...?ʼ Aetherʼs mind raced with speculation.
