The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 525: Chapter 525: I Don’t Like Bitter Medicine

Xia Wenjin shook her head, where should she start with this matter?

Who could help her when even she felt so powerless?

Originally, when he was both taking the Ice and Snow Pill and holding a dagger to his neck, he almost convinced her father. But after reaching the Capital City with her father, who knows what kind of sweet talk Huangfu Yuxuan used. Uncle Hua and Uncle Gu even accepted Huangfu Yuxuan’s favor and went to serve as low-ranking military officers.

The situation was becoming more and more complicated. She arrived too late; she couldn’t stop anything!

She said, ”No matter! Let’s talk about you. How is your injury now? Let me check!”

Huangfu Jingchen extended his hand for her to feel his pulse. The girl’s fingertips were as smooth as jade, delicate and warm, gently placed on his wrist, making his heartbeat speed up a bit.

His deep eyes were fixed on Xia Wenjin, her profile was earnest as she concentrated on feeling his pulse. Her long eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings, her soft pink face bore that familiar expression.

The same face that had appeared more than once in his dreams, the one that made his heart feel joy.

He had expressed his feelings for her more than once, but each time she downplayed it lightly. He dared not mention it again, fearing it might startle her, or annoy her.

He wished so much that time could stop, that she could stay a little longer in the courtyard, with just him and her, in a world so quiet and beautiful, where no one would disturb them. He would be content just to accompany the girl he loved, even if just silently.

Xia Wenjin looked up and said, ”Your energy flow is still a bit sluggish. Have you been fighting recently? Before the True Qi had a chance to settle in your meridians, you used your inner strength, causing your energy to run wild in your meridians and clogging up several spots. Your injury hasn’t improved at all these past few days!”

Her expression was very serious. If it weren’t for the unparalleled potency of the Heart Cleansing Pill, his reckless use of inner strength during his severe injury would likely have ruined his martial arts completely!

This person, why does he not know how to take care of himself?

Or has he been found by those assassins again?

The earlier seriousness and focus turned into a trace of worry, her mind spinning in circles, thinking of asking Huangfu Jingchen when her gaze accidentally met his, and she found herself looking into a sea of stars.

The youthful smile at his lips, his gaze tender, his eyes clean and clear, like a lake of pure water, gazing at her without blinking.

Xia Wenjin was the first to be caught up, the young man’s gaze was too gentle, making one feel like sinking into it. But she quickly snapped out of it, feeling both amused and helpless, realizing from his expression that he hadn’t heard a word she said!

Xia Wenjin waved her hand in front of him: ”Huang Zheng, are you listening?”

Huangfu Jingchen returned to his senses: ”Ah, what?”

Xia Wenjin, both amused and exasperated, said, ”I asked you, after we parted that day, did you engage in a fight? You moved your inner strength, causing it to reverse through your meridians. Your injury hasn’t only not progressed, it’s worsened!”

Huangfu Jingchen shook his head but quickly nodded.

That day, he went out with Uncle Chen and the others. Strictly speaking, it wasn’t a fight, but he did use his inner strength.

Xia Wenjin said, ”What happened? Was someone trying to kill you again?”

Huangfu Jingchen shook his head, and in Xia Wenjin’s eyes, he saw concern and worry. Instantly, his heart felt warm, Wenjin still cared about him.

He tentatively asked, ”Is it serious?” But quickly smiled brightly, ”Wenjin, since my injury is so severe, could you help treat me again?”

Xia Wenjin rolled her eyes, thinking how could he be so happy hearing about his severe injury, did he lack a brain?

Last time, he had been pursued to the brink of death, with just a breath remaining, and it took her enormous effort to save him, then detoxify him, taking care of everything. Things went smoothly.

This time he was also seriously injured and had many internal injuries. However, after taking the Heart Cleansing Pill, his energy ran wild, and his meridians were clogged.

In fact, this situation wasn’t serious. He didn’t even feel much of a difference, but Xia Wenjin was a doctor, so she could tell everything upon feeling his pulse.

Xia Wenjin said, ”You should take good care of your injury. As friends, I’ll go all the way with you, help you to the end! I’ll leave you a prescription. Have someone get the medicine and boil it daily. It should solve this problem soon!”

Huangfu Jingchen said, disappointed, ”A prescription, huh, forget it, I don’t like drinking those bitter medicines!”

”Good medicine is bitter, which medicine isn’t?” Xia Wenjin chuckled, ”Why are you acting like a child? You didn’t complain last time when you drank those, how come you’re being so fussy now? You’re regressing?” Recalling last time she gave him those extremely bitter medicines after his injury recovery, he still drank them.

Huangfu Jingchen pursed his lips, ”The ones before weren’t as bitter. The medicine they boiled these days is hard to swallow!”

The young man pouted a bit, with a hint of grievance, almost like a small complaint, his eyes clean and innocent as he looked at her.

Facing those eyes, Xia Wenjin surrendered, shook her head with a smile, ”All medicine is bitter, never mind, since I’m here anyway, I’ll give you acupuncture to let you drink less medicine!”

The young man immediately responded with joy, ”Alright!”

Huangfu Jingchen led Xia Wenjin into the main house.

At this moment, the gate of the courtyard opened, and a woman in her forties entered, carrying a plate of fragrant pastries. She arrived slightly later, just in time to see Huangfu Jingchen and Xia Wenjin enter the house, closing the door after them.

This was the cook of the courtyard, who also came from Yunzhou, though from the second batch.

Unlike Chen Shu and the first batch of skilled individuals with various abilities, they focused more on taking care of the Princely Heir’s daily life.

This Aunt Zhou made especially delicious pastries, so Concubine Cheng sent her over.

Seeing the young master lead a girl into the room, she almost dropped the pastries in her hands in shock and hurriedly backed out of the courtyard.

In the outer yard, Yan Nan was sitting in a tree with arms folded. Aunt Zhou quickly walked over and looked up at him, ”Ah Nan, where did the girl in our courtyard come from?”

She had been in the front yard, and would know if anyone came in, but today there were no visitors at all. Moreover, this courtyard was secretly purchased by Old Chen, and the young master was staying here to recover, without leaving, and the gate remained closed, so hardly anyone should know there were people inside.

Yan Nan chuckled, ”Aunt Zhou, what girl?”

Aunt Zhou said urgently, ”I just saw the young master and a girl enter the room!”

Yan Nan pressed a finger to his lips, making a gesture for silence, reminding, ”Aunt Zhou, here we can only call him Young Master!” As the Princely Heir had instructed.
