Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2500: Chapter 2509: Absolutely Humiliating

Wendy didn’t wait for Enna Clark to respond after speaking. She stepped forward apologetically, saying to Enna, ”Ms. Clark, I apologize for my cousin’s behavior, and I was also at fault for not stopping her earlier. I sincerely hope you can forgive us for our disrespectful conduct, considering the long-standing relationship between our families.”

After she finished speaking, she took out a card from her bag and offered it sincerely, ”Regarding the phone that Audrey broke, I will compensate Ms. Clark on her behalf. This card contains 750 thousand, with 450 thousand as compensation for your phone, and the remaining 300 thousand as my apology to Ms. Clark.”

She was quite articulate, knowing Enna Clark was the daughter of the wealthy Habsden family. They wouldn’t care for a mere 300 thousand, so she continued, ”I know Ms. Clark isn’t impressed by a small amount like this, but my apology is heartfelt, and I still hope Ms. Clark will accept the card. I’m really very sorry.”

The housekeeper kept his eyes down and didn’t interject. It was clear he observed Enna Clark’s attitude; if Enna said it was fine, he wouldn’t intervene. If Enna wasn’t okay with it, he would step in.

Wendy waited nervously for Enna’s response, as it was her first time apologizing so humbly, fearing the other party might not accept it.

Fortunately, she didn’t have to wait long before the person in front reached out to take the card, softly saying, ”I will donate this money to a charity fund.”

Wendy sighed in relief and smiled, responding, ”Of course, I support however Ms. Clark wishes to handle the money. I’m truly very sorry for breaking your phone.”

”It’s fine, I can have my husband buy me another one,” Enna replied calmly.

The word ”husband” pierced Wendy, making her open her mouth but leaving her speechless.

Enna gave her a glance, seemingly casually reminding her, ”By the way, Ms. Hanson might not be aware, but I’m already married. I prefer being addressed as Mrs. Lawrence.”

I prefer being addressed as Mrs. Lawrence...

The housekeeper’s eyes held a subtle smile, keeping his head down, not intending to help Wendy smooth over the situation.

Before meeting Ms. Clark, the Old Lord had casually complimented Wendy to Mr. Hanson, suggesting that Wendy and the Young Master, due to their similar ages, might be well-matched. The Old Lord neither refused nor agreed, and subsequently, Wendy clearly showed an unusual interest in the Young Master, frequently visiting him and acting as if she were almost his girlfriend. Fortunately, she later went abroad, and the Young Master also went to Linton City.

He had noticed earlier that Wendy kept calling her Ms. Clark, but had no intention of correcting her. Unexpectedly, the Young Madam directly brought it up, giving Wendy a pointed reminder.

Wendy’s face twitched slightly in restraint, enduring to the utmost, clenched her fist, ”Mrs. Lawrence.”

The housekeeper immediately interjected, ”Alright, Ms. Hanson, Young Madam. The Old Lord and Mr. Hanson have been waiting for quite a while, let’s head inside.”

He intentionally remained silent when Enna pushed Wendy to address her, but chose to intervene just now, clearly siding with Enna.

Wendy had suffered enough humiliation today, her face metaphorically swollen from her own actions. She could only endure the gloom and squeeze out a smile, following the housekeeper.

”Cousin...”

”...”

Audrey Hartwell saw her cousin completely ignore her, stomped her feet, and was left to cover her face in embarrassment and follow behind...
