Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2497: Chapter 2506: Sorry, the Lawrence Family Always Defends Their Own

”It’s my cousin who was being inconsiderate. She has been here with me a few times and saw that I always parked in that spot, so she assumed it was my exclusive parking spot. That’s why she got so upset when she saw Ms. Clark’s car there and said some unpleasant things.” Every word felt like a heavy blow, as if she were hitting her own face and stabbing her heart.

She had never been so embarrassed in her entire life...

This time, she really lost all the face she had accumulated over the past twenty-some years.

The Lawrence family men all have a fault—being overprotective!

The housekeeper, considered half a Lawrence, had a gleam in his eyes upon hearing this. Though still aloof, he was less courteous. ”Oh? Unpleasant to hear? What exactly did Ms. Hanson mean by unpleasant?”

Wendy had not expected the housekeeper to leave her no room to maneuver, making her cheeks burn with embarrassment, wishing she could find a hole to hide in. ”Well... it was nothing much, just childish behavior, not understanding the situation.”

She kept emphasizing that Audrey was young and didn’t understand.

To put it bluntly, she was still unwilling to take responsibility and didn’t want to apologize to Enna Clark.

The housekeeper straightened up, glancing at a pale-faced Audrey Hartwell with a deliberately ignorant tone, ”Ms. Hartwell looks like she should be over 18 by now? Could it be that Ms. Hartwell isn’t an adult yet?”

Could it be that Ms. Hartwell isn’t an adult yet?

These words were like a loud slap on Wendy Hanson’s face.

She had just said Audrey was young and didn’t understand, and now they were asking if Audrey was an adult.

Audrey was already 22, how could she not be an adult?

But admitting Audrey was an adult was tantamount to another slap on her own face.

Wendy realized that they weren’t going to let this go easily, her dignity wasn’t effective, and they were not appeased.

Though she was angry inside, she knew the special status of the housekeeper of the Lawrence family. Even as a mere housekeeper, he had the privilege to dismiss her, a junior.

She quickly weighed the pros and cons in her mind and decisively turned around, sternly saying, ”Audrey, go apologize to Ms. Clark!”

”Cousin?” Audrey was stunned. She had thought her cousin would protect her no matter what. After all, she was brought here by her cousin, and for the sake of her own face, her cousin would protect her. Especially since she knew her cousin’s secret—a crush on Young Master Lawrence.

Meeting her rival in love for the first time, no matter what, her cousin wouldn’t concede.

She hadn’t expected Wendy to not only concede but also demand she apologize.

This was losing both face and ground.

Wendy was well aware of losing face and ground, and to the very person she least wanted to lose to. Suppressing a metallic taste in her throat, her hands by her sides clenched tightly into fists, she commanded Audrey with an incredibly stern expression, ”Apologize! You did something wrong. What are you waiting for if not to apologize? Waiting for me to apologize for you? Do you still consider yourself a child and need me to teach you this little thing? Or do you want my mom to teach you?”

The last sentence was practically a threat.

Audrey Hartwell survived in the socialite circle solely because of Mrs. Hanson’s favor. If Wendy’s mom didn’t like her anymore, Audrey would just be an ordinary second-generation wealthy person, not even close to touching the doors of the socialite circle.

Audrey bit her lip tightly, swiftly walked to Enna Clark, uncomfortably clutching her hands, and quickly said through gritted teeth, ”I’m sorry,” in a wronged tone.
