Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1741: Chapter 1731: Blocked in the Restroom

As soon as she stepped into the bathroom, turned on the faucet, and splashed some cold water on her face, a body reeking of alcohol pressed against her back.

Immediately, a pair of lewd arms wrapped around her waist.

”Hey beautiful, we meet again. You look so heartbroken, drinking so much. Let me hold you, comfort you a bit.”

Normally, Skye Lawrence would have noticed him before he got close. But this time, she was actually caught by surprise.

Skye felt anger building in her chest and shouted fiercely, ”Get lost!”

”Oh, beautiful woman, don’t be so unfriendly. It’s good to have a personality, but too much of it can make someone dislike you. Right, Second Brother?”

”Yeah, yeah. You’re so pretty, no need to be so fierce.”

”However, a fierce beautiful woman has more flavor... ah...” Before he could finish, his finger was twisted back by her, causing him to release and howl in pain.

Skye had intended to teach him a lesson with a shoulder throw, but her strength was fading. She made a split-second decision and kicked backward, precisely hitting the man’s sensitive area.

”Ah—” The man screamed as she landed the kick, crouching down holding himself. In frustration, he shouted, ”Block her way, don’t let her escape! Damn it, after the drug she still has so much strength! I’m going to make her beg for mercy!”

Drugged?

Skye’s mind raced, and she immediately dashed toward the bathroom door.

Another man tried to block her, but she shoved him aside forcefully.

Seeing she could soon get away, unexpectedly, another person entered and locked the bathroom door behind him.

This newcomer was scrawny, dressed in black, and about 5’3” tall. His eyes were heavily circled with dark rings, whether from lack of sleep or something else, it was evident he wasn’t good news.

With tattoos on his arms, he sneered at Skye and then glanced at the other two, mocking, ”I’m really astounded here, you two grown men can’t even handle a single woman! If I hadn’t come in time, you’d have let the cooked duck fly away.”

Who else could this guy be but the bartender?!

Skye’s heart sank.

The other two men had recovered, spat on the floor, and grumbled, ”How could anyone know this dame had such strength; was your dose not enough?”

”Impossible, I used the normal dosage, the same amount I’ve always used.” He finished, glanced at Skye with a smirk, and said, ”If I used too much, Ms. Lawrence might have passed out, what then?”

”You know me?” Skye’s eyes flashed with sharpness.

Most women would have been scared pale by now; though she didn’t look well, Skye was far more composed than an average woman.

The bartender seemed a bit surprised that she was still so clear-headed after the spiked drink, and chuckled sinisterly, ”I know Ms. Lawrence, but Ms. Lawrence doesn’t know me.”

”Who are you? Who sent you to set me up?” Skye didn’t buy his explanation and asked directly.

The bartender chuckled, his evil gaze fixed on her, ”You’re overthinking it. You rich folks all have different minds than us. Everything seems to be a setup? Haha, I can assure you, no one asked me to come here. I just recognized you from seeing Ms. Lawrence’s interview on TV.”

Skye steadied herself much more, pinching the flesh of her palm tightly. Only through pain could she stay calm, speaking as if handling official business, ”How much money do you want?”
