Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1718: Chapter 1708: Another Argument

“Bear with it a little longer, I’ll apply some disinfectant alcohol for you,” Enna Clark said softly, as she found the disinfectant alcohol in the medicine box and dabbed it on his broken skin with a cotton swab.

Baron Lawrence’s hands were very attractive, with a slender and strong build, and long, thin fingers. However, at this moment, the knuckles seemed a bit swollen, especially around the broken skin, where the swelling was more apparent.

There was no need to think about it; it was definitely because he dragged it out last night, refusing to treat the wound, causing slight inflammation.

If she hadn’t used the disinfectant to remove the bacteria-filled scabs, his hand wound wouldn’t heal in ten days to half a month.

Enna tried to be as gentle as possible, not to hurt him. Baron Lawrence didn’t react much, so she couldn’t tell if her movements were gentle or not.

She used the disinfectant alcohol to re-treat his wound, discarded the cotton swab, found gauze in the medicine box, applied ointment on his knuckles, and wrapped it up with gauze.

Baron Lawrence’s hand was slightly larger than hers; she had to pick up his hand to wrap the gauze around it properly.

As Enna was doing the final wrapping, she said, “Last night, I didn’t close my eyes on purpose, nor did I distrust you. When your fist came over, my mind was completely blank, and closing my eyes was just a natural reaction. If you don’t believe me, try it on anyone and see if they would close their eyes in such a situation.”

Baron Lawrence’s thin lips pressed into a straight line; it was unclear if he believed her.

After Enna explained what she most wanted to say, she continued, “As for Lyle Westbrook’s heart…”

The man who hadn’t spoken suddenly stood up and no longer wanted her to wrap his hand, “I’m not interested!”

He didn’t want to know what was wrong with another man’s heart, and he especially didn’t want to hear it from her!

He took his long legs and started to walk away.

Moments ago, he was fine, silent as she explained about closing her eyes last night. But mentioning Lyle Westbrook changed everything.

Enna had searched for him all night, and her body wasn’t feeling well. Her intention was surely to talk it out properly, but he was uncooperative. She furrowed her brows and shouted, “Stop!”

The person who rose to leave did not heed her words.

Enna took a deep breath, struggling to control her emotions, and caught up to grab his wrist in two quick steps, slightly angry now, “Baron Lawrence, can you listen until I finish speaking before you walk away?”

“I don’t want to listen!” The man she held onto restrained himself from shaking off her hand, but his handsome face was as cold as ice, exuding an aura of pushing people away.

Enna was genuinely a bit angry now and stood in his way, speaking articulately, “But I want to say it! So you must listen!”

“Lyle Westbrook’s heart condition is related to me, and I want to find some heart specialists to see him; otherwise, I can’t rest easy… After all, he’s hurt because of me. How could I be indifferent after knowing this? I know you mind my closeness with him, but this time when Gigi had the accident…” The help wasn’t even fully explained.

The man, face like water, already clenched his fist, suddenly reversed the situation, cornering her against the wall, grabbing her wrist, his hawk-like eyes seeming to burn with two flames, piercing straight into her soul, speaking through clenched teeth, “So what, Enna Clark. You want to tell me you were moved by him, moved to the point you can’t just leave him alone?”
