What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

The Trasif looked a little taken aback by my question while the slave trader merely paused for a moment before answering my question.

“For dear customer, we would be happy to sell her at twenty four thousand Creas.”

Hmm… Definitely cheaper than Jenna’s slave but let’s see…

[Name: Carrey

Title: Hardcore Gambler, Losing Winner, The Bait

Race: Trasif

Gender: Female

Stats:

42 Strength

160 Dexterity

90 Endurance

120 Magic

Skills:

Hunting (Tier 2), Tracking (Tier 2), Gambling (Tier 2), Scouting (Tier 1), Martial Skill-(Sword Proficiency (Tier 2), Unarmed Proficiency (Tier 2), Dagger Proficiency (Tier 2)), Marksman Skill-(Bow Proficiency (Tier 2))

Magic Skills:

Somatomancy (Tier 2), Lumenmancy (Tier 1)]

Hmm… Seems like the slave trader was being honest about her skills with the bow and being a hunter and tracker.

And judging by her title and her skills, I’m going to just make a guess that her Debt Slave status had something to do with gambling…

I leaned forward in my seat, “Are you really sure she is worth that much? You said she has hunting and tracking skills but wouldn’t it just be cheaper to just hire another hunter?”

“Oh? Dear customer, what you are getting is a permanent hunter and tracker in your party you know? You would be saving Creas in the long run if you made use of her.”

I don’t really want to tell them that I already have my own party and we do have members who are proficient in those skills… But it is still a fact that we are lacking in the ranged attackers department…

Sure, Ather is fulfilling that role now but she’s still a temporary member and she actually prefers to fight close range with her gunfu or whatever it was called than to shoot at people from afar.

So maybe this slave could fill that role in case Ather decides to go her own way afterwards?

Although… It is still a fact that her stats are pretty low compared to the rest of my party… But I guess if we train her properly during our trip, she should be able to get those numbers up.

But that means I’ll also need to invest time and energy in training her…

That’s why…

“So you mentioned she’s a Debt Slave, right? What is she in debt for?”

Shamish hesitated and that was enough to tell me that she definitely did not want me to know about Carrey’s gambling habits.

But obviously she couldn’t hide it after I asked about it and lying would be even worse so she eventually admitted to it.

“She got her debt after losing all her money gambling. Then she couldn’t pay back her loans and had to sell herself as a Debt Slave to pay back her debt.”

“And how much is her debt?”

“Fifteen thousand Creas.”

Oh geez, holy crap…

Just so we’re clear… That’s equivalent to one and a half million dollars in my old World’s money…

How did she even rack up that big of a debt? Just how bad was her gambling addiction?!

I turned to look at the Trasif and she was looking down at her feet and trying to avoid my gaze.

I turned back to the slave trader, “I’m assuming that the store is footing her debt for now so she owes the store?”

Shamish shook her head, “Unfortunately not… She was sold to us under a promise of having her debt paid so she still owes her original debtors the money since we were not willing to shoulder her debt for her.”

“Then I assume there’s a deadline to that debt?”

She sighed, “That’s correct… And as dear customer might have guessed, the deadline is today.”

“What happens if she can’t pay the debt today?”

“Then… Her debtors will be her owner and… Let’s just say that they aren’t quite legitimate…”

Ah, I understand… She must have borrowed money from some rather shady people which must also be why the store was not that eager to pay off her debt for her either.

And if she can’t pay it back by today… She might be forced to do shady stuff that those people are involved in…

Who knows… She might even just be relegated to some sex slave as well…

Still…

“Eighteen thousand Creas for her then. And this is the highest I will go.”

“Dear customer… That is too low of a price…”

I crossed my arms, “Too low? You aren’t even shouldering her debt in the first place and I even gave you three thousand Creas of profit. I can actually just go and buy off her debt directly from her debtors, can’t I? Additionally, you’re also expecting me to put up with the risk of having her gambling problem be part of my problem isn’t it?”

“How… However… She was still properly trained by the slave trainers at Modgnik. So that should not be a problem anymore.”

“Is the possibility zero?”

Shamish chose not to answer.

Well, for her to answer everything truthfully so far, I guess they did not explicitly state that Carrey’s circumstances be kept secret and there’s some kind of rule in this shop that the slave trader will only tell the truth to their clients or something.

This works in my favour so I’m not going to complain.

I fished out a small Gold coin and eight large Silver coins before nodding at Jenna who had been staring at me the entire time, prompting her to quickly deposit the three small Gold coins she had been clutching since just now.

I took the coins from her and placed them on the table, stacking them up nicely before leaning back in my seat.

“That’s our final offer,” I told her.

Shamish’s gaze went to the coins briefly before moving back to me.

I made sure to stare right back at her to show that I was serious about this and I wasn’t going to budge in the slightest.

Eventually, she closed her eyes and gave me a curt nod, “Understood. We have indeed received the money. I shall prepare the contracts for you and your new slaves, please wait here.”

Unlike before, Shamish left the room alongside with the slaves that we did not purchase and I realised this was simply just a way to allow us to talk to our new slaves in private.

Inara immediately went over to Jenna’s side and got down on a knee, “Mistress. Thank you for buying me. Please allow me to serve as your sword and shield from now on.”

Hmm… That kind of brings me back to when I first got Katsuki… How nostalgic.

Jenna was panicking a little and looking at me for help but I had my own slave to deal with so I let her figure that part out herself.

Especially since Carrey had also came over to me and bowed to me.

“Tha… Thank you for buying me, Mistress! I will make sure you won’t regret this!”

“So you have a gambling problem?” I asked, seeing no reason to skirt around the problem.

She grimaced, “I… It’s just something that I was tricked into… It was my first time leaving the forest of Elhiria and I journeyed into Lehcaruoc… A stranger then introduced me to gambling and I did not know how bad it was until it was too late and I was already completely stuck in a debt I could not hope to repay…”

Oh… So she’s not an actual gambling addict but just a victim of a scam I guess? Well… Sucks to be her I guess…

She quickly bowed her head again, “I… I will do my best not to disappoint you, Mistress! I will be in your care!”

“Mmm… Well, I guess you should first know that we are a Mercenary and Dungeoneer party so are you fine with doing either of those things?”

She straightened, “Yes! I have experience in diving into Dungeons back in the forests of Elhiria so I am fine with it! I have experience in hunting monsters as well so you can count on me!”

“What role do you usually play in a party? I know she said you are proficient with both a sword and a bow so…”

“Ah, I would usually act as the ranger, Mistress!” She answered enthusiastically before her gaze went to Katsuki for a brief moment. “Umm… Mistress? This may be a little rude of me but… May I know how big is your party?”

“Hmm… You’ll see eventually so I’ll just leave the reveal for later.”

“Ah… Un… Understood, Mistress…”

I turned my attention away from my new Trasif slave to see how Jenna was doing.

“Umm… Umm… I… I will be in your care!” Jenna squeaked.

“You honour me, Mistress. It is I who will be in your care.”

“Ahh… Umm… Please take care of me!”

“Yes, Mistress. Likewise, I will also rely on you.”

“Ah… Yes! Please… Please allow me to rely on you!”

Err… Are they really going to be alright?
