Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 141: 141 Busy

The next day, Ivanov took the two of them to the bank to exchange money.

The two could understand their language and heard their conversation in the bank. They both pretended not to understand.

The money exchange was quite fast, and after the two followed him out, they returned directly.

”Sir, I still need you to help contact for the grain.”

”No problem. I’ll go out this afternoon to make the contacts. Would you like to come along with me?”

Zhang Chunsheng had already told them that Ivanov had a stake in it, so they both shook their heads.

”Sir, we trust you. We have too much money on hand; we better not go out.”

They didn’t insist. In the afternoon, only the two of them were left here.

”Let’s split the money. If we come across something valuable, we’ll have the means to purchase it.”

”Should we make our grain shipment official?”

”We have three hundred thousand jins of grain, planning to ship out two hundred thousand jins. It will probably take seven or eight train cars, right? We’ll be mixed in. With the remaining money, we’ll buy some other things here, plus we’ll trade out this Wild Boar meat entirely.”

Tan Shaoting had no objections and followed Su Yuanyuan’s lead.

”I’ll go out for a bit, we still need a lot of burlap sacks.” Tan Shaoting pocketed the money and went out.

Su Yuanyuan found staying at home dull, but she didn’t leave, after all, in the eyes of outsiders, she had a lot of money.

It was better for Tan Shaoting and others to go out separately.

Su Yuanyuan thought she should collect some household goods, and also gather large quantities of meat from here.

Ivanov knew how much money the two held, and had to get in touch with that Hu Wenzheng to see if he really couldn’t, then sent out tens of thousands of jins, claiming the two bought them cheaply.

In any case, they must not return empty-handed this trip. Otherwise, it would really be a waste of all the effort to get here.

Tan Shaoting returned quickly, with sacks delivered by others.

So the two started slowly filling them up inside the room.

”If it’s not feasible, we just send out less; Ivanov is not easy to deal with.”

Tan Shaoting nodded, ”I’ll go find Hu Wenzheng tomorrow to ask.”

Actually, Tan Shaoting didn’t want Su Yuanyuan to go out alone, so he thought he should handle the external matters himself.

After all, they were in a foreign country and not familiar with the surroundings.

”Don’t worry about me. Nothing will happen, and tomorrow I plan to secure a large amount of meat.”

”Okay, understood. After I find Hu Wenzheng, I’ll head there too.”

Ivanov returned at night. ”The price fluctuated. It is higher than before.”

Su Yuanyuan furrowed her brow, ”Sir, we both will head out tomorrow. It’s not that we don’t trust you. We want to order two hundred thousand jins from you, and for the rest, we want to buy something else ourselves.”

Ivanov nodded, ”Alright, I’ll start arranging for the two hundred thousand jins of grain tomorrow.”

”Sir, did you weigh the grains at the train station before?”

”Yes, we weigh them and load them on the train.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded, ”Sir, please finalize the grain delivery time. We want to inspect it.”

”You certainly have that right, understood.”

The next day Su Yuanyuan went out, and Ivanov had already explained to them here.

Actually, Su Yuanyuan was not confident. This place was very united, and she was afraid of being targeted, which would cause trouble later on.

However, Su Yuanyuan was just fortunate; she found a farm and directly ordered two hundred pigs and a hundred cattle.

She still had a lot of money in hand, but hadn’t exchanged it for local currency. She knew the exchange rate, so if it wasn’t enough, she planned to use her own money. Arrangements were made to pick them up in five days, paying half of the deposit and holding a receipt. She also asked where to rent a vehicle, which made things much easier.

Su Yuanyuan hadn’t driven a large truck before, but now no driver’s license was required; she just needed to drive slowly without problems.

Getting to the rental place, she rented an extended large truck, which made loading easier. She calculated the meat could be loaded in two trips.

Su Yuanyuan carefully arranged everything; the meat was ordered, and the truck was rented.

She cautiously drove the truck to the train station.

Tan Shaoting and Hu Wenzheng were both surprised to see Su Yuanyuan driving over.

Su Yuanyuan jumped off the truck, and Hu Wenzheng laughed, ”Haha. You, young girl, know how to drive a car?”

Su Yuanyuan smiled, ”Brother Hu, it’s really simple.”

”Come on, let’s talk inside.”

The three of them entered the room. ”Brother Hu, I have ordered some pork and beef, and if the grain price set is too high, I’ll just buy some myself, but most of it will still be bought from that person.”

Hu Wenzheng nodded. ”Alright, be careful not to attract too much attention.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded. ”I understand. Tonight, we will deliver two truckloads of grain over.”

”Okay, we’ll arrange people to load the truck here.”

He was quite surprised when he knew two young people like them were sent over but didn’t expect this girl, looking over her teens, to have such courage.

The two left. ”Tan Shaoting, do you want to learn how to drive?”

”Of course.”

Su Yuanyuan was quite envious of him; she just demonstrated once, and he managed to get the hang of it. She even thought he might have learned before.

They didn’t go back, practicing driving with the truck. While driving, they headed to a deserted area outside.

Su Yuanyuan got off the truck, releasing two hundred bags of grain onto the deck, over ten tons for sure, but they didn’t have time to weigh them. So be it.

The truck was filled. They drove back.

Hu Wenzheng didn’t expect them to bring back a full load in just three hours.

But he didn’t ask and directly found people to arrange loading the train. This was what took time.

The two of them noticed it was getting late, so they drove the empty truck back to Ivanov’s place.

”You finally returned. I was worried about you two. This truck?”

”Sir. It’s rented. We want to prepare some grain and other provisions, and having a truck is convenient.

Sir, when will the grain shipment begin? We want to stay and inspect, and count.”

”The day after tomorrow, they’ll prepare tomorrow.”

Su Yuanyuan smiled and nodded. After having dinner, they informed Ivanov and drove off again.

The two drove to a deserted place, making a few rounds. Again, Su Yuanyuan released two hundred bags.

This time it was Tan Shaoting driving, ”Su Yuanyuan, the day after tomorrow, you stay to count, and I’ll drive.”

Su Yuanyuan nodded, ”That’s fine, let’s stop. I’ll give you ten thousand jins, and you can slowly haul it back.”

By the time they reached the train station, Hu Wenzheng arranged more people than during the day, taking two hours to load the train car.

”Let’s load twenty tons in each train car to make it easier to calculate,” Hu Wenzheng said. He mainly thought to leave room at the top to prevent losses on the way.
