Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine

Chapter 96: 96 Help

In the end, I had no choice but to leave a bit of food behind. But didn’t I leave behind something for myself too?

The money he got from selling the house is down to thirty percent now.

”Alright, I’ve packed up. I’ll deliver it to both your families tonight.”

Hu Chunhua interjected, ”Daqiang, you should just give it to us now. You’re already quite exhausted. Don’t make another trip.”

Xu Chunjiao nodded in agreement, ”Exactly? Don’t go running around anymore. It wasn’t easy for you to come back, just rest. Yuanyuan, make something dry for your dad tonight.”

Su Daqiang noticed everyone staring at him and realized there was no dodging this.

So he went back to his room. Tian Xiaohua wanted to follow him in but was pulled back by Xu Chunjiao.

”Xiaohua, you can’t do this. Yuanyuan is your biological child. How can you be so heartless to treat your own child that way?”

”Isn’t that right? Xiaohua, you just left like that, leaving behind this little girl. You’re truly heartless, ignoring her like this.”

Hu Chunhua also held onto Tian Xiaohua, preventing her from leaving.

”Daqiang, why should you pay this money?”

Hu Chunhua sneered, ”I didn’t know. You’re acting like parents and yet refuse to repay debts?”

Watching the anxious Tian Xiaohua, Su Yuanyuan inwardly laughed and thought to herself, you better convince Su Daqiang not to repay, she really didn’t want to accept this two hundred or so yuan.

Su Daqiang had his own plans. Besides, he had given his word, and it wasn’t an option anymore to not return the money. So many people were watching. If he was still in Jiangbei, it wouldn’t matter, but he had to live here. He couldn’t let people talk behind his back.

So he took out two hundred and fifty-eight yuan.

Su Liangliang watched the money in his father’s hand, thinking it was all his. Seeing this money about to be given away, his heart bled. So he rushed over and snatched the money from his dad’s hand.

”Why should we pay for the money she owes?”

Su Daqiang was momentarily stunned, then quickly went along, though he muttered, ”That’s your sister, I have to repay this money. Give it to me right away.”

There was no way Su Liangliang would hand over the money. He wanted to run outside, but there were too many people at the door, he couldn’t get through.

In truth, the local customs were simple now, and they especially despised those who didn’t repay their debts.

Everyone saw Su Liangliang’s actions earlier. They understood well that this child should never be trusted in the future.

”Quickly, give me the money.” Su Daqiang pretended to be extremely angry, shouting loudly, but didn’t make a move.

It was almost five o’clock now. Usually, everyone would be preparing dinner, but given the current excitement, no one left.

Hu Chunhua sneered, ”You don’t want to repay the money anymore? Yuanyuan, what do you say we do?”

”Aunt, I’m sorry. The money I owe your family was all spent on tools and such. If you want, take them back now; as for what I owe, I’ll repay it slowly in the future.

Village chief uncle, here’s the house for you, tell me how much I’m short, I’ll repay that slowly too.”

The veins on Su Daqiang’s forehead twitched.

”Yuanyuan, it’s not that Auntie isn’t reasonable. You also know my family still owes a lot. Slowly repaying doesn’t work for me, to tell you the truth, even if your parents didn’t come back this year, I’d write to them.”

Hu Chunhua and the others realized this girl wanted to sever ties with Su Daqiang and his family, seeing the Su Family’s behavior today, they fully supported Su Yuanyuan’s actions.

”We won’t repay. It’s not even us who borrowed it.” Tian Xiaohua was relieved when she saw her son had the money, this money truly shouldn’t be given away.

”You’re not repaying? This girl is your child. She’s still young, so you should repay her debts. If you don’t, Tian Xiaohua, I’ll sue you.” Hu Chunhua’s words were ruthless.

”Yes, she is your daughter.”

Both emphasized Su Yuanyuan’s relationship with them.

After hearing, Tian Xiaohua said, ”I’m disowning her. She’s not my daughter, no daughter would hit her mother, she’s just an animal, should be struck by lightning.”

Su Yuanyuan sneered, ”The ones who should be struck by lightning are you. You’re not even animals, you wanted me dead when you left.”

”Look at this, look, I, Tian Xiaohua, don’t want this daughter anymore.”

Su Daqiang stood listening on the side. This was going badly; if they truly disowned this daughter, how could they have her take the fall?

”Tian Xiaohua, shut up.”

Su Yuanyuan suddenly approached Su Daqiang, ”You don’t have to feign kindness. Frankly, I don’t want parents like you either. Since you have such thoughts, I’ll fulfill that for you. Let’s sever ties and be strangers from now on.”

”No way, you think severing is that easy?” Su Daqiang widened his eyes.

Su Yuanyuan sneered, ”You don’t have to sugarcoat it, you came back because you want me to take the fall for you and go to Jiangbei, right?

I simply disagree. I’ve even asked the county, and as long as I disagree, you’ll have to go.”

Now the onlookers understood Su Daqiang’s intentions.

Since this girl clarified his intentions, Su Daqiang didn’t bother pretending anymore.

”Hmph. As long as you understand. You refuse to take the fall? Dreaming?”

”See if it’s my dream or yours. If I make a scene at the county, don’t even think about finding someone to take your place.”

Su Daqiang gritted his teeth, thinking this girl would be easy to deal with. Unexpectedly, she had already inquired.

”You want to cut ties, right? If you agree to take my place, then I’ll agree to cut ties.”

Inwardly, Su Yuanyuan couldn’t help but laugh, thinking Su Daqiang wasn’t truly dumb, huh?

”Which one of you do you want me to replace?”

”Don’t worry about it.” Su Daqiang huffed.

”That won’t do, I must clarify it. I know it must be one taking one’s place.”

”Go, and bring back three hundred yuan for Group Leader Ma, and it’ll be settled.” Su Daqiang, having no choice, was forced to speak.

”Haha, so it can be done this way?”

”Village chief uncle, help me out, I won’t take the fall, and if they don’t repay, just sue them, this way, even if they want to stay, they can’t just pay to avoid it.” Su Yuanyuan turned and said smiling to Yang Hongwen.

Su Daqiang’s plan was truly wishful thinking. Dreaming was faster, but even leaving myself was possible, yet it was dreaming not to pay up.

”Is that so? I’ll sue them tomorrow.” Hu Chunhua wasn’t afraid of offending Su Daqiang and his wife.

Old Yang had mentioned, this girl Yuanyuan just wanted to sever ties with them, not wanting to get involved with them. Listening to this, it seemed Su Daqiang and his wife hadn’t found another person to take the fall. This suited the girl’s intent.

”We’ll go together tomorrow, my family needs the money too.” Xu Chunjiao added from the side.
