My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 219: Chapter 129: Extraordinary

The smallest were at least five or six meters tall!

These behemoths hopped and scurried wantonly through the city. Their sharp maws, resembling grim iron fences, dripped with a sinister red ooze. The sight alone, even from a great distance, was enough to make one’s skin crawl and stomach churn...

His senior brother’s face was deathly pale as he stared at the monsters, his body frozen stiff.

Qin Fang stared intently.

Suddenly, Qin Fang’s gaze sharpened, and he noticed something below...

”Senior Brother, there are people!”

Startled, his senior brother quickly looked down...

Then he saw them: several figures in black had appeared at the city gate. They carried gourd-like objects and were pouring some kind of liquid onto the ground, using it to draw something.

They drew as they walked...

The sight left the two of them stunned. Looking closer, they finally realized that the ground of True Martial City was covered in numerous strange, crooked patterns.

’This is...’

’What are they doing?’

The two were puzzled. A short while later, they spotted more of the black-clothed figures... but this time, they were on the paths the monsters had taken, using their gourds to collect something...

After watching for a long time, Qin Fang said in a low voice, ”They’re collecting... the ooze from the monsters’ mouths!”

With every hop from these giant monsters, the ooze from their mouths splattered everywhere.

The ooze was extremely viscous. It scattered all over the place, and after the monsters had passed, the black-clothed figures would go over and collect it in their gourds...

...This disgusting scene made them feel even more physically ill.

After watching for a very long time, Qin Fang finally said in a low voice, ”Senior Brother, let’s go.”

True Martial City had fallen.

It looked like there wasn’t a single living person left inside.

...At least, no living person besides the members of the Mysterious Power.

They were smearing the monster ooze all over the city grounds, drawing strange symbols and patterns. It looked like they intended to cover the entire city, but for now, they had only completed a very small part...

...It was undoubtedly a massive undertaking. Covering the entire city would be no easy feat.

Even though these black-clothed figures were clearly Martial Artists.

But their numbers... were relatively limited.

So far, they had only seen twenty or thirty of them busy at work.

Qin Fang didn’t know what they were planning.

But one thing was clear...

’...Whatever it is, it’s not something my senior brother and I can stop!’

His senior brother’s limbs were trembling. After a long moment, he said in a hoarse voice, ”Let’s go.”

He clearly knew this wasn’t something he could stop, either.

The two took one last look at the bizarre city, then turned and headed back.

Fortunately, the black-clothed figures seemed to have focused all their attention on True Martial City, leaving the mountain path completely deserted.

More than six hours later, under a pitch-black sky, they returned to the shelter beneath Old Ox Back.

Their master was already standing at the shelter’s entrance when they returned.

Seeing his two disciples return, their master let out a sigh of relief and asked, ”How is it?”

Monkey and the others heard the commotion and came out of the house, also waiting nervously for Qin Fang’s answer.

His senior brother wore a somber expression. After a long silence, he said hoarsely, ”True Martial County... is gone.”

Even though he had been prepared for the worst, their master’s pupils contracted. He then fell silent.

Seeing his senior brother’s state, Qin Fang knew how distraught he was. With a silent sigh, he took it upon himself to explain.

He recounted everything he had seen and heard, both inside and outside the city.

When he heard that the monsters had grown again, now reaching heights of six to seven or even seven to eight meters, even their master was too shocked to speak...

Such behemoths, now sprouting fur, were no longer something Mortal Realm Martial Artists could contend with.

They had to be Extraordinary monsters of the Divine Domain!

Moreover, it seemed the mysterious organization’s goal wasn’t just to cultivate these Extraordinary monsters... They had a much larger scheme in mind.

...Their covering the city in strange patterns couldn’t have just been for fun.

For a moment, everyone fell silent.

After a while, their master said softly, ”In that case... let’s wait a while longer.”

Although it seemed the Mysterious Power had shifted its focus to the city...

Who could guarantee that they wouldn’t be found in other places?

For now, they were living in seclusion at Old Ox Back and were temporarily safe. Acting rashly and alerting the Mysterious Power would only lead to endless trouble.

Old Ox Back was far from the city. Even if the organization had another major operation, it was unlikely to affect them here.

But apart from the distance, there was a more important reason...

”...There is something mysterious on Old Ox Back. It’s likely the thing in True Martial most connected to the Extraordinary. A place like this is inherently shrouded in mystery... If we are truly attacked by an Extraordinary power, this place, conversely, is the most likely to have the means to resist.”

Their master’s judgment was similar to Qin Fang’s.

...The reason he had chosen Old Ox Back, rather than just hiding in any random mountain wilderness, was precisely because of its mystery.

For one, the Giant Bees and the mysterious liquid allowed them to increase their strength quickly.

For another, it was Old Ox Back’s mystery itself!

When it came to the Extraordinary Domain, Qin Fang and his group knew nothing. Only by staying in Old Ox Back, a place also touched by the Extraordinary, did they have a chance of evading certain mysterious things...

Therefore, at this stage, it was better to remain still than to act.

They would just have to wait a while longer.

Wait until the Mysterious Power left True Martial completely.

Wait until True Martial was completely at peace again.

Even so, after hearing about the current situation in True Martial County, everyone couldn’t help but feel oppressed.

Their master spoke up, telling everyone to go to sleep and reassuring them that the sky wasn’t falling. Only then did the others return to their rooms.
