My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 210: Chapter 126: Hometown

This city was the entire world in his eyes!

So...

How could he leave?

How could he possibly leave?

’...No wonder Senior Brother seemed so strange when I saw him today. He wasn’t in the mood to talk, and on the way here, he kept staring blankly at the chaotic streets and alleys of True Martial Avenue...’

’I’m afraid he had already decided, even back then, that he wouldn’t leave the city with us.’

’...Perhaps the proposal in my letter never had his approval from the very beginning.’

The screams, the crying, the whistle of arrows cutting through the air—at this moment, it all seemed to fade into a hazy blur.

Qin Fang felt his senior brother’s body growing cold.

He snapped back to his senses and quickly hugged his senior brother tighter, his eyes bloodshot. ”Senior Brother, there’s only hope if you’re alive! The ones who caused all this are that Mysterious Power! If you die now, how will you ever get revenge on them?!”

’Looking at Senior Brother now, it’s clear the recent string of disasters has crushed his will, leading him to this reckless idea of dying with the city...’

’I don’t know what happened to him during this time. I’m not him, so I can’t understand the path his heart has taken.’

’But I do know that to get him to pull himself together, I need to give him something to hold on to...’

’And hatred is, without a doubt, the perfect catalyst!’

Upon hearing this, his senior brother’s eyes did indeed brighten for a moment, but then they dimmed again. He suddenly coughed twice, blood spilling from his mouth. With a bitter smile, he shook his head. ”It’s too late. I’m afraid I’m not going to make it... You should leave the city. Take care of Master and Mistress...”

His injuries were too severe...

”Bullshit!”

Qin Fang roared, his eyes red with fury, ”You’re the First Senior Brother, and you’re Master’s own disciple-son! Seeing Master and Mistress through their old age is your responsibility! Don’t you dare try to shirk it!”

But seeing his senior brother was now clearly on the verge of death, sweat beaded on Qin Fang’s forehead.

Then, a sudden thought struck him. Heedless of anything else, he fumbled inside his robes for a Porcelain Bottle, which contained the few remaining drops of his mysterious liquid. He pried open his senior brother’s mouth and poured it all in!

As the liquid went down his throat, Zhou Xing swallowed instinctively. A moment later, his eyes shot wide open as he felt a mysterious energy surging through his body...

”It really is...”

He was about to say more.

But Qin Fang had already cut him off, roaring in a low voice, ”I don’t know what you’ve been through to be this broken, Senior Brother, but what’s the use of fighting these monsters to the death? There’s no telling how many of them there are! Calm down! True Martial County is already like this. What will change if you throw your life away for nothing?! Survive, find a way to track down the people behind this, and make them pay the price!... That’s what you should be doing!”

Under the impact of the mysterious energy, Zhou Xing’s Spirit seemed to rally. He opened his mouth, trying to say something, but no words came out.

”Master and the others are still waiting outside the city. No more nonsense... I’m getting you out of here!”

With that, Qin Fang helped Zhou Xing to his feet by the arm. Only then did he look toward the two monsters...

Assailed by two Poisonous Thorns, the two monsters had twitched a few times before collapsing, violently dead.

But no one dared to approach.

From a distance, many people were watching Qin Fang and Zhou Xing.

Qin Fang walked up to several officials, his expression cold and grim. ”Open the gate.”

The officials looked at Qin Fang, then at Zhou Xing, momentarily unsure how to proceed.

A murderous glint appeared in Qin Fang’s eyes. ”I said, open the gate!”

Zhou Xing, his Spirit somewhat recovered, looked at his junior brother’s hard profile, sighed, and said softly, ”Open the gate.”

Seeing Zhou Xing speak, the official quickly turned his head and shouted, ”Open the gate!”

...After all, Zhou Xing was still the City Gate Guard.

Besides, Zhou Xing had just charged two monsters alone, arguably protecting all of them. Now that he had spoken, they instinctively obeyed.

The city gate opened, and Qin Fang supported Zhou Xing as they walked toward it.

One of the officials started to shout something.

But he was pulled back by the person next to him.

He instinctively turned his head.

He heard his colleague hiss through clenched teeth, ”Didn’t you see that man kill those two monsters with a single move? How many lives do you have to spare to go sticking your nose in other people’s business?!”

”But Lord Guard...”

”Didn’t you hear? They’re martial brothers! You think he’s going to harm the Lord Guard or something?”

”But if the Lord Guard leaves just like that, and the County Magistrate asks, what are we...”

”...We’ll just tell him the truth!”

The city gate was open, but no one dared to leave...

Or perhaps, for them, there wasn’t much of a difference between leaving and staying...

The eyes of most were numb and vacant... They hadn’t taken the Qi Blood Pills or any other medicine from Ganlu Hall.

But... their family members had.

Amidst these stares, Qin Fang supported his senior brother out of the city.

With the mysterious energy surging through his body, the bleeding from his senior brother’s wounds seemed to have slowed for the moment. Then, he saw the emaciated figures outside the city, and the light that had just returned to his eyes dimmed once more.

Qin Fang supported his senior brother, and thankfully, no one came looking for trouble on the road. Before long, they reached the mountain path.

Several figures came forward to greet them.

Zhou Xing stared blankly for a moment, then spoke in a hoarse voice, ”Master...”

The master looked at Zhou Xing with a complicated expression. He finally let out a soft sigh without saying anything, took Zhou Xing’s wrist from Qin Fang’s grasp, and after a moment, his eyes narrowed slightly. ”What did he take?”

Knowing he could no longer hide it, Qin Fang said in a low voice, ”Your disciple had a fortuitous encounter... It’s also the place where we will hide.”

Hearing this, the master looked at Qin Fang in surprise. After a moment of thought, he asked, ”Did you... leave some of that stuff for me and your mistress before?”

Qin Fang said awkwardly, ”Yes. I poured it into the drinking water...”
