Chapter 509: Chapter 509: Too Cool for Three Seconds

Lazy Kitten: So, Sister Mochou, are you establishing your revolutionary base by taking over a county office?

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: That’s the idea.

Doujin Artist: Isn’t attacking the county office so directly a bit too radical? Won’t the Ming Dynasty court quickly counterattack? Won’t that be very troublesome later?

Amegakure Village’s Angel: If the populace is armed thoroughly and quickly enough, they can stand up to the old Ming army.

Machete Girl: But Sister Mochou doesn’t seem to have much time, doesn’t she have to go to Songshan in half a month?

Soul Society’s Villain: Mochou is just the leader. Even if the leader leaves temporarily, it won’t delay the base’s development. But the initial steps will indeed be difficult, and capable, trustworthy helpers are needed.

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: Yes, my next priority is selecting helpers. Actually, I originally wanted to choose a border area as a base, so I could at least attack and defend. But this Pingyang county magistrate’s corruption is too much for me to stand.

Pretty Boy from Skull Island: Curious, what exactly did he do?

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: He colluded with the big landlords and implemented a poll tax. This means that on top of paying 60% in taxes, every family of farmers, merchants, and small craftspeople had to pay a supporting tax based on the number of people in the household. If they couldn’t pay, they had to give their children to the landlord as debt repayment.

Machete Girl: This, this is too much, isn’t it? How can those people survive like this!

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: It’s basically like draining the pond to catch fish. The entire Pingyang county is now in a state of misery. Otherwise, the people wouldn’t be setting off firecrackers and lighting eternal lamps everywhere after the county magistrate died.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Outrageous, that’s truly outrageous! Doesn’t the court do anything about this kind of thing?

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: The local officials are all in cahoots. The reports are submitted to the prefectural government every year. The court doesn’t know about this, so how can it intervene? Besides, this kind of thing is already common in this era; even if they wanted to intervene, they couldn’t.

This is an Actor: Even if there’s a temporary reform, things will just go back to how they are now. This is the inherent flaw of the historical cycle of feudal society; it doesn’t change based on human will.

Lazy Kitten: That’s why it’s called the wicked feudal system. No matter how the dynasties change, it’s still the common people who suffer.

Doujin Artist: Actually, the feudalism on our Earth is quite good. At least the populace has a chance to overthrow the court if they unite. But in this other world, the people have no ability to overthrow it, even if they wanted to. Because most of the professional fighters are dogs of the ruling class, and no matter how many ordinary people there are, they are ultimately just cannon fodder against professional fighters.

Having sent the message, Ying Lili lowered her head and glanced at the scattered corpses around her.

These were all professional fighters, and she had killed them.

These people were brazenly abducting women in the street, right before her eyes, and that was something Ying Lili absolutely could not tolerate.

Some of these professional fighters wore light armor, while others wore iron plate armor, but they all had one thing in common. It was a golden rose emblem worn on their chests, signifying their identity.

Golden Rose, the Testa family.

One of the six great noble families in the southeastern province, whose patriarch was enfeoffed as an imperial viscount and was also the chief executive of the southeastern province. They were exceptionally powerful and highly influential.

No wonder they dared to openly allow their hounds to abduct people in the street. Their practiced methods suggested this wasn’t their first offense.

Unfortunately for them, this time they ran into a killer like Ying Lili. Let alone these mere hounds, even the youngest son of the Testa family hiding behind them was sent to the afterlife by her.

But even after finishing this job, the young girl still felt very dissatisfied. It was rotten, this territory was utterly rotten! As the saying goes, out of sight, out of mind, but since she had seen it, she really couldn’t just ignore it.

Thinking this, Ying Lili identified her direction and immediately headed towards the lord’s mansion with Shunpo.

Amegakure Village’s Angel: The other world you went to indeed makes it difficult for the populace to succeed in an uprising, but that doesn’t mean its rule can last forever. Unequal distribution of interests within the ruling class can also cause division and civil war, and various external contradictions and conflicts also carry this risk.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Yes, such conflicts will inevitably cause impact and damage to the populace. But no matter which side benefits, the populace will gain nothing.

Machete Girl: Because that’s a struggle among ruling groups, what does it have to do with you, the common people? Remember your place, you’re just cannon fodder!

Doujin Artist: Essentially, it has nothing to do with them, but those disgusting ruling groups lie! They distort the interests of the ruling group into the interests of the whole, and induce the populace to become cannon fodder. This kind of thing has already happened countless times in history, hasn’t it?

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Hey, guys! I think I’m getting out of prison today. Black Egg actually came to bring me comfort! I’m so touched, truly so touched!

Lazy Kitten: Touched, so touched you even want to lick the top of his head?

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Let’s forget about that. I feel like he might have smeared shoe polish on his head.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Pfft, shoe polish on his head! You really know how to have fun!

Deadpool glanced at the group chat messages in front of him and didn’t reply further. Because he felt it was only natural; who else in this world could have more fun than him?

But fun also requires method and approach; one must not play games carelessly. For example, licking Black Egg’s head, even he couldn’t do that. After doing something like that, what girl would still want to kiss him?

”Tony, I think you should understand the seriousness of the current situation.” Nick Fury, unaware of Deadpool in the next cell mentally weaving elaborate tales about him, was trying to persuade Tony with a patient tone: ”This is a major event that threatens the entire Earth and humanity!”

”The existence of American imperialism also threatens Earth and humanity,” Tony scoffed, retorting.

After two months of research and study, he had a preliminary grasp of the theoretical knowledge of his various mentors. He believed his thinking had been transformed and he was no longer willing to associate with the hypocritical and disgusting American government.

”You’ve been brainwashed, Tony!” Nick Fury frowned, saying with a headache, ”You should clearly recognize who you are!”

”I think I’m very clear now, clearer than ever before,” Tony closed his eyes lightly, remaining unmoved.

”Let me out, and I’ll help you fight the Chitauri,” Deadpool suddenly said.

”Wade?” Tony was shocked, looking at him with a surprised expression.

”You need to understand, Tony,” Deadpool stood up, giving Tony a proud back. ”We always stand on the side of the people. Whether opposing America or anything else, we should not deviate from this standpoint. And the current Chitauri are causing suffering to our people... they are our enemies!”

Tony’s expression moved, and he took a breath. ”You’re right, that’s indeed the case.”

Deadpool gave a thumbs-up and struck a pose. ”Ha! Let’s go, this time we’ll definitely beat those alien bastards!”

”I’m terribly sorry, Mr. Wade,” however, Nick Fury shook his head. ”You are not permitted to participate in this battle. The Security Council believes your destructive power even exceeds that of the Chitauri.”

?

Deadpool was immediately struck by lightning, his entire body becoming extremely stiff.
