THE GOD EATER

The barbarian said, ”It is either they are watching us or this has nothing to do with us.”

”I am more inclined to believe that this has nothing to do with us, though. After all, we’re so small and insignificant. The only thing special about us is that our parents are here in this Domain. I don’t think that’s enough reason for the caretakers to single us out and help us.”

”I believe that this has more to do with Ragnarok than us. It is possible that Ragnarok has offended too many people and they complained to the caretakers, causing the caretakers to give us this gift to appease us.”

While they argued about why the caretakers had sent the message, some were so engrossed they kept reading it.

One of them, the scholarly young man, nudged his glasses and exclaimed in awe as he said, ”Of course. How could I have missed this?”

”Total divinity is a major part of the capacity for Entropy, and Supreme Metacs and divine crystals produce divinity. Therefore, if we build a Celestial Artifact with a Supreme Metac and divine crystal, it will help us withstand the Entropy,” he said with his voice full of awe and admiration.

”But it will be expensive, though,” the spider-monkey said, pouring water over his dreams.

As a bona fide forger with the Forging Pathway, he could analyze and glean more information from the technical details. What he saw made him frown while everyone else was happy.

He explained, saying, ”We need three things for the Celestial Artifact, and they are Celestial Gold, Supreme Metacs, and Divine Crystals.”

”Aside from Divine Crystals, the other two are very expensive. But that’s just the start of the problem.”

”The main problem is that when the Celestial Artifact reaches its limit, both the Supreme Metacs and the Divine Crystals will be destroyed. Only the Celestial Gold is somewhat reusable.”

”So we need to keep buying Supreme Metacs and Divine Crystals, which are expensive. The cost can run sky-high if we’re serving a billion operations per day. Even with an increase in efficiency, you should expect to spend 100,000 years’ worth of divine crystals every day.”

”Then there is the fact that the Celestial Artifact can’t be anchored in a divine constellation. So we have to find a way to provide infinite life energy or be prepared to have the disciples bear the cost, which will reduce the utility rate because our disciples don’t have enough energy to use it.”

”So this method will raise the cost of usage exponentially in exchange for bypassing the burden of Entropy. And let’s not forget the cost of running this with our lifespan,” he said, shaking his head.

”What if we substitute high-energy crystals that contain Natural Energy for lifespan?” the scholarly young man asked.

This question caught the spider-monkey off guard, making him pause to think. After thinking for a few milliseconds, he said, ”That can work.”

”It will work very well, actually. By my lowest estimates, it can reduce the energy cost by a hundred times and also solve the problem of looking for a source of life energy.”

”Maybe this plan isn’t that bad after all,” the spider-monkey said excitedly.

”Of course, it isn’t bad,” Onslaught said with a snort. ”The caretakers made it, so it has to be good. Compared to them, Ragnarok is shit.”

”If you say so,” the eagle said with shifty eyes. ”I’m sure your assessment of Ragnarok has nothing to do with your hatred for him.”

The swordsman also nodded and said, ”You have to be right. After all, what has Ragnarok ever managed to do?”

Before Onslaught could reply, he said, ”He and fewer than one hundred shitty people in the universe only upgraded a Grand Dao to a Cosmic Dao. I’m sure you can do that with your eyes closed.”

Then he asked Onslaught nonchalantly, ”Speaking of which, why haven’t you upgraded your second star into a Cosmic Dao yet?”

”Can’t you see? He has been very busy trying to copy Ragnarok’s shitty Domain Power System,” the barbarian said with a sneer.

”If it is so shitty, why is he copying it?” the black tortoise, the size of a super world, asked in mockery.

This caused everyone to burst out laughing. Only Onslaught wasn’t laughing. He wasn’t even paying attention to them anymore. Apparently, he was too busy disassembling the lever to pay attention to what they were saying.

The release of the In-depth Analysis Of The Domain Power System struck the Gemini younglings as a drop of water dropped into a hot pot of oil. The impact surged among their community, bolstering their confidence and giving them the hope to compete with Ragnarok.

However, this impact was intangible for now because it would take time for the In-depth Analysis Of The Domain Power System to be converted into real-world applications.

For the moment, the Olympic Sect’s dominance with the Domain Power System wouldn’t be threatened. But the Olympic Sect’s monopoly won’t last long. Even Loki could determine this outcome as soon as he discovered the competing technology.

He saw the technology in the mind of a Gemini youngling he was passing by. He habitually checked the mind of the youngling, and when the youngling saw him, they thought of this project that could remove the crown of the strongest sect from the Olympic Sect.

After digesting the information he stole, he frowned inwardly as he thought, ’The advantage of using this technology is undeniable. In fact, some of the perks are better than mine. But the cost is also abysmal, so I won’t be quick to call this the Domain Power System v2.0 just yet.’

’First of all, I made the original Domain Power System, so I should get to determine when a better version has come along. Secondly, how can anyone actually afford this?’

He was honestly perplexed by how anyone could afford to use this Domain Power System. Even with all of his wealth, he couldn’t afford to use it at full capacity for a day.
