THE GOD EATER

”I like your gusto, kid,” Martial Will said. ”But we all need to help the Blessed Heaven World ascend as soon as possible. You might not know it, but this is the only way we can become complete Dao Lords.”

The black eagle also said, ”We need a Divine Spark and a Divine Tower set up in the third heaven. It is the only way to increase our Authority, and offset our burden of Entropy.”

Then the white eagle took over, saying, ”Entropy might not be much of a problem for you now, but it will soon become a problem without the Divine Mountain.”

After listening to their explanations trying to convince him of the folly of his ways, Loki said, ”Thank you for the information. But I still have to refuse.”

”If you don’t care about increasing the amplification of our Authority and getting rid of Entropy, what do you care for?” Tepid Scholar asked in irritation. ”What could be more important than these things?”

By this time, everyone was staring at him, waiting for his answer. The five monkeys, the two giants, the two eagles, the three scholars, the red and white sword welders, and the two stars belonging to the Harem King were also staring at the humanoid wolf.

Some of them were staring with curiosity and interest. Some were annoyed, and some were confused by his behavior.

But many of them were also glaring at him in anger as if they wanted to tear him apart and eat him there and then. The five monkeys belonged to this last group.

Feeling the weight of attention, Loki didn’t keep them in suspense and said, ”I want two things.”

”Oh no,” Martial Will said, interrupting him. ”I have a bad feeling about this.”

”Silence!” Black Chain said in anger.

Knowing that this would only rile up Martial Will, Tepid Scholar quickly said to the Dao Lord of Martial Body Sect, ”Please, let’s hear what he has to say.”

Thanks to the appeasement, Martial Will didn’t make a fuss about being shouted at. He only grumbled while glaring at Black Chain.

Upon seeing that everyone had become silent, Loki continued. He said, ”The first thing I want is information on how to advance.”

Actually, if he wanted to sabotage the ascension of the Blessed Heaven World, he wouldn’t be extorting them like this. He would have pretended to agree while preparing to betray them at the critical moment.

The truth is that he doesn’t want the Blessed Heaven World to ascend because this super world is currently the only source of Domain power for him in the Sea of Worlds. So it is in his best interest to prevent the Blessed Heaven World from ascending.

If the Blessed Heaven World were to ascend, he would lose the power from the 8.1 billion square kilometers that he has been enjoying so far. The same thing would happen if the Blessed Heaven World were to be destroyed for one reason or another.

However, instead of trying to prevent the Blessed Heaven World from ascending, he decided to use this opportunity to force the other Dao Lords to help him. He hoped to get greater benefits than what he could get from preventing the Blessed Heaven World from advancing.

The information he needs to advance is just one of the benefits he intends to acquire. His main goal is the second request, which will make the 8.1 billion square kilometers look pale in comparison.

If he gets his wishes, it won’t matter to him if the Blessed Heaven World successfully ascends or fails to ascend. And if they reject his demands, it wouldn’t change his situation for the worse because he would still have his Divine Mountain and the 8.1 billion square kilometers to enjoy.

Just as he expected, as soon as he made his first demand, Black Chain immediately said, ”No.”

”Don’t mind him. I’ll give you that information,” Tepid Scholar rolled his eyes and said.

”No one will be helping him to advance. Anyone who does will face my wrath,” Black Chain threatened loudly as he glared at Loki.

When Heavenly Eye heard the threat, she chuckled and said, ”We can help anyone we want with information, and there is no way you can tell who helped him. So your strength might be great, but it is useless here.”

This was true, but Black Chain wasn’t willing to give up just yet. The Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect said, ”In that case, I want part of my demand to be your promise that none of you will help this little shit with anything.”

”You must all swear to it. If you don’t give me what I want, then you can all forget about the ascension of the Blessed Heaven World.”

This unreasonable demand of his immediately elicited a round of rebukes. Some berated Loki for being so troublesome, while some rebuked Black Chain for being unreasonable.

Martial Will thought that what Loki had asked was reasonable, even though Loki asking for it now was extortion. But he also thought Black Chain was being unreasonable.

In this situation where both sides were at fault, Martial Will immediately defaulted to berating the greater evil. So he said to Black Chain, ”How many times do I need to say it? We are not your lackeys.”

”It is already too much to ask us not to help the Will of the Blessed Heaven World, when she has been good to us so far, but now you’re asking us not to help someone else. This is asking for an inch while taking a mile. You’re overreaching.”

When Tepid Scholar heard all of the arguments around him, he could only shake his head and say, ”What has this turned into?”

”First, Black Chain came here bringing an offer to release the Blessed Heaven World. Now he is behaving like we were the ones who called him here, trying to convince him to release the Blessed Heaven World.”
