THE GOD EATER

The strength of the new Dao Lord is weak, but it is clear to Black Chain that she has help among the five of them. With Heavenly Eye’s help, the Harem King will be able to hide herself better from him when she enters the upwork realm.

Even if she didn’t have help, he would definitely not be able to have the other Dao Lords help him target and kill her. All of these things flashed through his mind as he considered how to get rid of her.

When he came to the conclusion that she was here to stay, he sighed and said to Heavenly, ”You could have told me about this. If you had told me, I would have helped him to return earlier.”

But Heavenly Eye shook her head, saying, ”First of all, I had nothing to do with this. I will maintain that I am innocent to the end of time if I need to.”

”Secondly, if I did have something to do with it, and I’m not saying that I do, even if I told you about it, you would have never allowed him to return. You’re hell-bent on preventing the number of Dao Lords from reaching 10, so you would never have allowed him to return.”

Black Chain didn’t refute her. But he did say with bitterness, ”It seems all the work I did to protect us has gone to waste. It seems we will be invaded after all.”

Martial Will, who had been chuckling and having a generally good time, heard this and snorted as he said, ”You didn’t do it to protect us. You did it to protect the effort you’ve invested in trying to enslave the Blessed Heaven World.”

His voice was full of disdain as he said, ”I don’t like when you people do something and refuse to admit it.”

The disdain in his voice was directed at both Heavenly Eye and Black Chain, angering them. The two of them glared at him, preparing to fight back with words.

Before the matter could escalate, Tepid Scholar intervened, saying, ”Let’s not fight. This is not the time for that. What we should do is determine what we will do to prepare for the opening of the Sea of Worlds.”

After saying this, he said to Black Chain, ”I believe that the main thing we can do to prepare now is to become complete Dao Lords. So we need to speak about the ascension of the Blessed Heaven World.”

Black Chain knew that Tepid Scholar was right, but he didn’t want to give up on enslaving the Will of the Blessed Heaven World so soon.

So after thinking about what to do, he said, ”Let me think about it.”

”Oh come on,” Martial Will said in frustration.

”What is there to think about?” he asked Black Chain. ”You have tried for a long time and have failed. If you were going to succeed, you would have succeeded a long time ago. If you haven’t succeeded for over three thousand years, you don’t have the time to succeed now.”

Black Chain, in anger, snapped at him and said, ”I would have succeeded if all of you had allowed me to kill everyone in the world, starve it, and bring it to the brink of death. If you had allowed me to have my way, I would have succeeded.”

Green Fire shook her head as she said, ”That’s madness. Even then, it might not have worked.”

”However, it doesn’t matter if it works or not. It is too late for regrets at this point. We need to prepare before we are overwhelmed by external enemies.”

While the Dao Lords were arguing about what to do, the first pillar of golden light finished what it was doing. The pillar of light receded into the sky, freeing everything that had been frozen and revealing the culprit.

The culprit was a humanoid wolf man with pure white fire, a long black python for a tail, gleaming multicolored gems for eyes, and rows of sharp black teeth in his mouth.

There were also cracks across the wolf man’s body that made it look dilapidated. At a glance, the wolf man looked like a statue of stone that was crumbling. But the powerful golden light of immense power trapped within his body made him look indestructible instead.

After appearing, the young man glanced into the distance at the Wandering Thief and Harem King. While he was examining them, his python tail swept out and swallowed someone nearby whole.

The person who was engulfed by the python was a young man who looked ordinary to mortals. His most defining feature to mortals was that he was young and handsome.

But to sensitive divine beings and to Dao Lords, this young man was anything but ordinary. The Dao Lords in particular knew more about the young man because of the white crystal butterfly in his Energy Well, so they had mixed emotions about him being killed like this.

When Wandering Thief saw what Loki did, he shook his head and said, ”Fellow Daoist, you didn’t need to do that.”

Then he frowned and asked, ”You look familiar. Do I know you, fellow Daoist?”

Loki ignored him and went about his business as if he didn’t hear any question. He knew he was being rude by doing this, but he had to do it because he was too busy and was running out of time to do what he needed to do.

As it is, his existence is being pushed out of the Sea of Worlds. He is literally being squeezed by the world around him, creating an unpleasant feeling that he would like to put an end to.

The only way to eliminate the suffocating pressure is to leave the Sea of Worlds. But even if he refused to leave voluntarily, the pressure would push him out of the Sea of Worlds. This is why he is slowly rising into the sky of the Sea of Worlds.
