THE GOD EATER

Her tone was one of mockery as she said, ”To top it off, that newcomer just killed over a billion people in his Domain. So he has three reasons to kill the newcomer now. There is a Cosmic Dao to be gained, the weakness of its current host, and offending Black Chain as motivations.”

”Even if what you say is true,” Green Fire started to say with a frown. ”Why would you let Black Chain go like that to gain a Cosmic Dao when you know it is going to be easy for him to acquire it? Shouldn’t we try to stop him?”

Hearing this question, Tepid Scholar nodded and said, ”You’re right. We should try to stop him. But how will we do so? That’s what we need to decide now.”

”We should gang up on him and beat him up,” Martial Will suggested eagerly.

But Heavenly Eye shook her head and said, ”He is too strong. I will only consider the fight if that newcomer puts up a good fight and drags him down somewhat.”

Sword Maestro also said with some hesitation, ”If we were to fight him in the Sea of Worlds with our avatars, I would consider fighting him. After all, it will be a fight with avatars, and I will have backup.”

”But if we’re to fight his true body, where the power of all five pathways is combined, I’m afraid I will have to avoid him. He will be too strong to deal with even if we all fight him. He might be able to kill us with one attack each.”

Green Fire and Carefree Immortals also expressed their uncertainty about the plan to face and fight Black Chain’s true body. This didn’t surprise Tepid Scholar, as he knew that Black Chain’s formidable strength was the reason the Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect had been able to oppress everyone for so long.

But when Martial Will heard their complaints, he sneered and said, ”What a bunch of weaklings.”

Without shame, Green Fire said, ”Of course, we’re weak. That’s why we’re complaining.”

Shaking his head, Martial Will said, ”True power doesn’t come from the total amount of divinity that the enemy possesses. It comes from skill and having the proper mindset of a victor.”

”You can be excused for not having the divinity. Compared to Black Chain, you’re younger and have had less time to grow. So it is not laziness that you’re falling behind in this regard.

”It is shameful if you’re unskilled, but it can also be excused as you being younger and inexperienced. But you can never be excused for having the mindset of a loser.”

”I will never excuse thinking like a loser because if your mind is weak, you will never be able to become skillful, and you will never be able to defeat him even if you have the advantage in total divinity.”

”Enough of this.” Tepid Scholar said to interrupt him.

Then the Dao Lord of Myriad Phenomenon Sect said, ”They have a point. He is too strong.”

”By your words, he has the advantage of divinity, is more skillful than us, and has the mind of a dominator. So how can we defeat him?”

This question dissatisfied Martial Will somewhat, causing him to frown. Of course, he had something to say about Tepid Scholar’s claim that Black Chain was more skillful than them.

He wanted to say, ”You mean he is more skillful than all of you. He can’t be more skillful than all of us because he is not more skillful than me.”

He also wanted to talk about how they couldn’t know who was more skillful until they fought and how admitting defeat so early was bad. But he knew that his words of wisdom would fall on deaf ears, so he kept quiet and chose not to answer Tepid Scholar’s question.

He just snorted, letting Tepid Scholar have his way, saying, ”I know you disagree with me. But the point remains that there is a better way to attack Black Chain than to go up to him for a fist fight.”

He didn’t keep them in suspense as he said, ”What Sword Maestro said earlier was right. We stand a better chance of defeating him if we fight him in the Sea of Worlds, which is why I think the time is right for us to start breaking some of his rules in the Sea of Worlds.”

Hearing this, Immobile Mountain’s eyes lit up, and he said, ”Does that mean we get to help our world ascend now?”

”I don’t think that’s what he meant,” Carefree Immortal said skeptically.

As for Green Fire, she shook her head and said, ”I don’t care if that is what he meant because I’m not doing it either way. I am not going to put my super world in that kind of danger.”

Exasperated, Tepid Scholar said, ”That’s not what I meant. And please, let me complete what I’m saying before you provide your unsolicited thoughts. Thank you.”

Then he exhaled deeply, causing a burst of flames to erupt from his nostrils, before he said, ”The matter of helping your worlds to ascend is too complicated.”

”Not only can Black Chain interfere with it in the Sea of Worlds, but even if he doesn’t do that or he fails to stop it, he can also easily find such a large structure appearing in the third heaven and take the fight to you. Since we have decided not to fight him in the third heaven, we will not be using that method.”

”The method I have in mind is for us to allow our rank 8 disciples to advance to rank 9 en masse. Once we have a bunch of rank 9 disciples, we have them go to war and attack the Four Directions Sect.”

”They will attack his sect in the Blessed Heaven World and every single one of his base in the Sea Of Worlds. With the power of our disciples at rank 9, none of his rank 8 slaves will be able to resist, so victory is assured.”
